Uwe Kröger in Les Miserables

Here are some bits and pieces from the Berlin production of Les Miserables. Oleg Vynnyk plays Jean Valjean and in the role of Javert we can see my favourite artist, Mr. Uwe Kröger. I have mixed feelings about his singing there, but his acting is excellent. I especially love the pride he gave to his Javert.

Absolutely perfect portrayal. As Javert, he thinks through every action, considers every consequence. He watches carefully, he acts boldly and bravely. Uwe totally has this character down. Fearless, passionate, clever, etc! Danke, Uwe!!

Ich liebe Uwes van Helsing in Dracula, ich habe ihn auch als klasse Phantom der Oper gehört und jetzt spielt er auch noch einen glänzenden Javert in Les Mis, meinem wohl allerliebsten Musical? I love him...

waathewitch I’d be really interested to see that. I’m doing some research into how translations change character interaction in Les Miserables and the German one is fascinating. It really is very different (Valjean and Javert can get on better because of it)
