As someone who has bipolar with schizophrenia, you are a completely different person off meds. I did things before I was on the right meds that I did not want to do, but i couldn't stop myself. You couldn't truly understand unless you have been there. I hope the best for him and he doesn't give up.

Thank you for your comment. It is definitely a struggle no one can understand that doesn’t live the life.
So, the question is how do you “make” someone stay on their meds without violating their freedoms? It is a serious question as you want to see your loved one have the freedom to make their own choices but you also want them to not suffer the consequences of being off the meds. It is a horrible choice I wish no one had to make.

I don't know if he could get proper treatment in custody.
I'm in the UK, so I don't know your systems, but if he were here and sent to prison, he'd likely be on the hospital wing, if they had one. Most of our prisons are really old, at least Victorian and facilities are hugely lacking, the prisons are massively overcrowded and the drug problems in them are legendary. If he were here, unless he went to a mental hospital prison, he wouldn't get even close to the proper care he needs.
I know you've got more modern prisons there, but I don't know much about them.

Funny when people think they so slick they can talk their way out of trouble every time. Shit may work once in a while but not on everyone. Also ownership of ones mistakes goes along way. Taking that responsibility truthfully will say more than any slick jive turkey tom talk people consumed with that lifestyle often embrace. Do better it is possible.

30:45 -hard to believe this guy never just walked in before they answered prior to this day, so they weren’t alarmed at all.
30:58 - if he always goes back out to get his gf then why would dude go back to shut the door behind him knowing he would be right back in, also how tf did he not realize someone else was with his gf about to walk up in his house….?
31:12 -so his GIRLFRIEND & other dude were the ones with weapons..? He was the “ringleader” here but he told his gf “ya you rob him. I’ll just sit back n yell at them to give me the stuff” im sorry judge Boyd but this is delusional.
31:25 - why would the ONLY person without a weapon demand the property..?
TBH: I think he’s being more honest than the other ppl involved in the case. I think they used his mental illnesses as an easy way to label him as incredible when he defended himself.
*side note bc I don’t wanna go back n edit this. But didn’t she say he was defendant 1 & his gf was suspect 2..? I find it REALLLLLY hard to believe this bc noooo mf way that guy going to close his door behind the defendant didn’t see 2 men he didn’t know & the defendant coming back to bust in his door before he could close it. I feel bad for this kid, I really do.

I personally have bipolar with schizophrenia also. They weren't excuses, they were explanations. I have been accused of making excuses when I was explaining what led to my mistakes also. Bipolars often explain things in ways people don't understand. He was taking accountability for his actions. Just because he's taking accountability doesn't mean he doesn't hope for the best outcome.
