Persil washing capsule dissolved in hot water. First, I bash the mats against a wall, then hoover , followed by some more wall bashing and then hoover. wet the mats, pour over the persil solution and use a bristle brush to agitate and get deep into the mats. then jet wash and let it dry. It's probably really bad? but it does the trick.
If I have two days free, and won't drive the car for two days, I simply shove the mats into the washing machine at 30 degrees, and hang to dry. What do you think, Dave? And yes, you can call me a lazy bastard, but..... I also use Dr Beckman's, but for the carpets inside the house. Works brilliantly.
Thank you for the video Dave. Never underestimate what cheap products can do, but also never underestimate just how long getting carpets clean can take.
This was a great video and extremely funny and entertaining. Having you be off scripted was great and it was cool to see so many different cleaning techniques. I like to Power wash, spray with an atomizer soap on the mats use a drill brush and carpet extractor. My favorite was the beckham 1 quid shampoo soap I thought the video was going to be over when it worked! Have a great day and continue to show others how to be great detailers!
Most of the old mats with plastic or rubber backing have like some type of fine sand in them or something. I washed mats from Renault Espace with my pressure washer for about 30min than i hanged them on a wall and washed them for another 30min and everything is gone. Old mats need to hanged so when you are washing them all the dirt goes down and away. Awsome video man,i liked your mask specially 😂😂
Yeah I hope it just puts some peoples minds at rest because I think we all struggle with cream mats and the reality is sometimes you can try every trick in the book but you still may not be satisfied
After seeing all that work going in to that i think i would have brought new matts , but apart from that i use Koch Chemie GS on matts and a drill brush pressure washer and wet and dry vac with great results.
I find gravity helps when brushing , agirating mats, either hang then rotate them aftwr each brushing, or brush them whilst they are upside down. You can also use sunshine to remove many stains on light coloured materials. Lily brushes are also good for agitation...
Thats such a transformation. Honestly for my mats i use a carpet cleaner with some carpet cleaner chemical and i add in some oxi powder to bring stains out. Won't ever be as clean as this though
Wow that was a epic clean on one mat And so satisfying seeing years of dirt lifting out. All the products seem to do a job but all the machines you used really made the big difference. Look forward to the next episode. I used recently the auto glym apc cleaner on my leather seats that are seventeen yrs old and used a hogs hair brush to apply and scrub and it worked beautifully giving that new mat finish look like when new :) Thank you :)
That was absolutely brilliant! I had a Volvo with light grey mats in that same style - they are HEAVY aren't they? I feel like the Tornador and Wetvac extractor like the George would get you there...and failing that, pressure washer and the George would probably be enough for more people? The Volvo mats are an oddity too, with their rubber back you find that the water doesn't flow through them at all.
@@epicautomotivedetailing there aren't many made like this anymore are there? I think the ones in my Merc have a more plasticy backing, but the AMG line ones just have a foam. It's really weird! Nothing compares to that rear carpet in the Land Cruiser though!
Ive got a george, it is very good but its so bloody cumbersome, ive just valeted some carpets out of a 1970s car that had some sort of oil spilled on them, they have come up well, it just takes some time as you mentioned, the next time i valet some mats ill try rinsing with a jet wash, great video as always 👌👍
Great video thanks sir keep.up. Unfortunately in those situations, proper communication with customers, and controlling their expectations is golden......... The "disaster" detail videos on UA-cam unfortunately , creates unrealistic expectations to viewers that see EVERY crap matt....comming clean 100% witch.... In the real world..very rear IF ever happends. One more credit to you sir And maybe ....matts replacement also a good option either for detailer or car owner. In they end if the day....that is why matts are.... removable 😊😊😊😊😊😊. Congratulations My kind regards
Have you ever used an ozone generator for removing bad smells. I’m tempted for an electrical purchase from a smokers house but looking for others experience and though car use is a perfect example
Buy it if you need it, there are many different options so doesn't really have to be expensive one. 20-30 minutes on closed doors and all the bacteria also smells will be gone. After that, leave the car open for an hour to two so it will get rid of remaining ozone.
STAY WITH ME CHARLES......Don't make Jokes about his Brother 😂😂 Mate I was All Wimbledoned out so flicked over to watch You & I've laughing my Big Head off Thanks Dave....Keep up the Good work.......Wee ROSSCO
Dude my Ava P80 evo started playing up a while back so Ava arranges pick up to repair it and it got lost so after a little back forth they refunded me and I ended up getting a Nilfisk P200 from cleanstore after watching your review on the Nilfisk P180 being the neanderthal that I am I thought I'd go for the next one up ...why do I do this lol I'll keep you posted 🙏👏👏👏👍
I just wash them with the shower in the bath and use the drill brush to agitate the detergent. To dry them I hang them using trouser hangers, flipping the around as they dry (otherwise the water will just accumulate at one end) would not recommend putting them in the washing machine as it will likely damage the mats structure and ruin them.
If a PROPER steam cleaner (290°F+) can't SUSPEND the stain, then nothing will. I emphasize the word "SUSPEND." They don't rid the stain, steam cleaners loosen and suspend the contaminants, and then it's up to you to remove it before it settles back in. Apply a cleaner (not always necessary), steam well, hang, rinse well with water, and then vacuum. Extractors have their place, too
Made me really laugh, it does look loads better. Seriously though Dave mask or even better respirator and safety specs. You don't want all that crud in your lungs or eyes
Yes I know that's already a method I've mentioned several times before. The point of this video is to highlight as many alternatives as possible for people who may not have all the tools but they may have one or two of these!!
Is he pronouncing that correctly. The product is a play on the word Tornado as it uses a similar rotating jet. So shouldn’t it be pronounced Tornay dor ?
You will ruin your mats if you put them in the machine, belive me I've done it on my VW mats and they were all limp, stressed and the structure was gone. I had to bin them.
sorry that wasn't the point i wanted to get across in the video lol. In all honesty Its just showing peoples expectations compared to reality and how far you can go even with many tools. It also helps car cleaners educate their customers who may assume something is dirty when the stains may have just transferred in the fabric 🙂

And once again you should not be left in charge of power tools or bucket's lol
I love the mask. Do you sell those on your website?
😅
Would the Charles not work better with the water sprayer trigger attached so the carpet solution actives while extraction?
Yes it would I think I said that in the video. The George wet vac would be better than Charles
Nice work

I'd love to have a go with a tornador but I think him indoors would go nuts if I bought a compressor .
for mats i pressure washer them first, agitate them with chemicals and drill then extract with the vacuume, can't go wrong!!
