I don't know man.. there's something about your storytelling while you're drawing that always gets me fully into your videos, it's incredibly relaxing!
Oftentimes I drink coffee on the go, but on days like today when I can sit down and enjoy a nice cup of coffee I always end up catching up on your videos, Peter. So glad you're doing art school, the world always needs more artists.
“You have everything at your fingertips, but you’re still alone… it’s like everything and nothing.” I haven’t been to college for over 25 years, but you described how I feel much of the time.
Peter, you forgot your picture of you on the horse! I think this was awesome, even drawing your tablet on the tablet, and the same with the cameras, excellent detail that I honestly never would have thought to put in there. Thank you for the relaxing video as well 👍
After watching your videos for about 10 years now, its very interesting to see you making an observatory drawing in this scale and detail with such skill. And it also seems like your enjoying school, im happy for you!! Looking forward to upcoming videos!
I have been watching Pete for over 4 years now off and on .. but every so often I come back to him and feel a lense of home like feeling. knowing he's still doing his thing and art is not dead. I love Pete draws.. his thoughts on things are interesting and he is just so sweet.
Dang! You did that quite well! When I’m lost in my head, I’ll grab my art pad and pencil and draw what I see from my nose, glasses, my pad , hand and everything else in the room. It calms me. I’m going to try it the way you did yours… making sense of what’s in my room and actually recreating like you did. This will be fun! 🤗
Really love when you share your assignments as videos. Actually love all your videos but hearing your thoughts about what you created for assignments is just a bit different than your other videos. I’ve been subscribed for years and will always enjoy your videos and art.
Tertiary educators never give a hundred percent. I once wrote an essay that my art history professor loved so much he told me to submit it to all the national art rags, for publication. He gave it a 94. Been a while since I’ve watched one of your vods (inexcusable, I know) and man, I have to say you have improved, a lot! Hugs from ‘coat hanger Calder’ guy down here in Melbourne, the world’s most locked down city. Hope you are well mate, didn’t realise how much I missed your voice till I heard it again. Edit: welp, fifteen eh? It’s a beautiful drawing, worthy of disproving my thesis about one hundred percent and art school! Congrats!
Telling me that you're doing an art course and seeing your epic (perfect 15 drawing) made me so... happy. Probably because you are one of my favourite entertaining UA-cam stars.
That is a difficult task there but you did it so well! Makes me want to pick up my pen right away. I love listening to you and I just realised that I admire your attitude. You don't judge people and you are open to new things. Many could take a leaf out of your book!
Hello Peter, Nice to see your doing so well in School. I would have given you 100% as well I am just in awe of your prowess! I do enjoy your videos and drawings too. I saw the notice of posting the pictures on Instagram as you missed editing them in the video. I will look for them there! I believe your doing a wonderful contour drawing in this video it is truly awesome! I am just dropping my jaw at your perspective and spacial awareness! SO spot on! I do hope your doing well in all aspects of your life and here's hoping we see more of you! Til then be safe, take care and Be Well!
"These parts are supposed to match up..." I so totally understand that comment. Really enjoyed watching this video. Took me back to art school many years ago. You are inspiring Peter!
Love your drawing, your story telling and calm, easy energy. You've inspired me to pick up a pen on countless occasions Peter. Keep up the great work! :)
Loved the fractal details in the camera screen view on your drawing best. Never got into art school, but enjoyed the art class at a Vermont high school during my year abroad. I never trusted the art teachers grading, though. Always got highest grades for everything I did. She would teach me the technique, and then let me choose the motive and execution completely free. It was definitely more educational and experience building than any art classes in my German school time of 13 years taking classes.
So different from what we normally see you do and also to create that with so much ease confirms you talent even more! Excited to see what you create next!!
Wow, I love this piece so much. Tbh before you revealed the score I would've guessed you got 10/10, amazing. This also makes me want to try this kind of studies, contour drawings. Peter, you did it once again. You'll never fail to make me break my creative slump. It's lovely to see your art school and personal art journey, keep it up!
I really identified with you when you were taking about not being able to relax while at home bc work is at home. This really hit me hard during the first parts of quarantine. I found I need to do my work at different places than where I relax. I use to do all my work at my computer, but now I bought a laptop and I do my work at my dining table, that way I can relax at my computer and play some games stress free. Hope this helps!
So relaxing to watch you do this amazing drawing while sharing your stories. Definitely earned 15 of of 15. Thank you for being you and sharing yourself with us.
I love how you were honest about your art and how lines didn't match up, because that was when I said to myself, "It might not be perfect, but I love it anyway." And it got me thinking, "Why can I be this accepting of other artists but not of my art?" I guess we all have inner critics.
Simply amazing!! You need to compile 'The Collected Works' of or 'The Wonderful World Of' and include maybe 20 or 30 drawings in large Coffee Table format.
When I'm really stressed there's something about your voice that calms me. I think it has something to do with the bassiness, it's just comforting. Plus listening to your stories is distracting from whatever I'm stuck on so win/win! Thank you for these!
This was so incredibly satisfying to watch Peter! Sometimes when I don't know what to draw, I do this - just draw what's in front of me, and I always kind of enjoy how quirky they come out with the oddly warped perspective. Seeing you draw one of these was so, so enjoyable, I feel like the universe sent me a treat after a bit of a rough day, so thank you for bringing me a little bit of peace and satisfaction to my day today. Also, I like to think the hunched old man was role playing in his head that he was a wounded cowboy and you were his captor holding a gun to his back, meanwhile he's thinking about how he's going to escape, like he's the main character in some kind of Clint Eastwood movie 😁
Trail rides are the best! You made a good choice and it sounds like it left you feeling inspired. - im excited for your art school videos, I’ve never had the opportunity to attend one and can’t help feel jelly, I appreciate the assignment discussions! Awesome work as always.
I'm glad you came up in the feed again Peter, I haven't been on your channel for a while. The last drawings I saw of yours I believe were like an "alien" civilization series, with their own alien writing...very cool. It does me a lot of good to watch you, it makes me slow down in my art. Lately I have been in a hurry to complete a piece, not sure why but there is a bizarre sense of urgency. I'm usually happy with what I do, but I kind of slap it in there lately for some reason, not sure why. If I slow down, take my time, give it a little more detail, this is inspiring and I think I will enjoy the process of it more.
Proud of you dear Brother, these will pay twice, one in assignments towards degree, and the other in youtube fame and zenni. Grade 15 true. PEACE and God bless.
This is the first time I see you drawing on youtube since a year or more.. and wow, things changes a lot hier! Always a pleasure to look to your lines Pit.. with love ❤️
I was literally just thinking about Peter today, realized I hadn’t seen him in my recommended in months, then there he shows up today! He has become a recurring blot of happiness that shows up again from time to time, then disappears for a while... Then he pops back up and I feel content for a little bit again :) It’s not that he actually disappears, I just forget he exists sometimes, I’m sorry Peter :(
I do contour drawings a lot of my surroundings, and yeah Things Never Match Up XD I always have things at different sizes and on the wrong planes, but hey, it’s relaxing and fun and looks cool in the end
This looks like a good way to tackle something so busy and dauntingly complex - maybe not trying to scope out where everything is and just use what you're drawing to measure where the next thing to draw is and so on. It's a very cool result and congrats on your 100%!
This is my first time watching your video but unlike many other art tutorials this one was honestly entertaining and the video was very helpful to give me ideas for my arts assignment. Keep up the good work sire! 👍
Those contour drawings seem very difficult to do, you have so much detail in yours. I really enjoyed your story about trudging through the deep snow, like I was transported through time. Horses are supposed to be good therapy animals.
I honestly don't know how a teacher could grade Peter's drawings. I mean art kind of comes down to what you want you to achieve and as I understand it, Peter's goals are antithetical to the concept of being graded. Just, draw intuitively and enjoy the process. And its not like he hasn't put the time in either. Idk, maybe the instrucor thought this drawing looked particularly intuitive and muchly-enjoyed :P it definitely shows a mastery of line and rhythm!
oh my GOD I love going to the olive oil/vinegar store to try a bunch of bread dipped in various flavoured substances. Its sooo satisfying and cozy and idk, novel :D
Amazing work! On par with Paul Heaston for this type of drawing! I might have to go and do one of my own! Great job. but did I miss the picture of you on the horse somehow? I don't think I ever took my eyes off the screen! Edit: Ooooh! I found the info on this in the description! you look like a natural horseback rider!!!
Peter, I'm so disappointed that you left out the photo of you and North! As a lifelong equestrian, your story made me so happy. As an adult who prefers ponies (adult equines of shorter stature than horses), I agree even ponies can feel huge when you're astride- I think the sensation occurs because they make your heart soar so very high. 🙂
I hope you show us this drawing when you have it completed 😜 I am encouraged to try drawing my view now. Interestingly enough I am caught in a white out snow storm here in Wisconsin. I signed my name on my page and feel so accomplished. Hugs!!! Thanks for sharing with us
