Honestly sketch books are my favourite piece of art equipment. Nothing like looking back at the visual vomit you churned out on a Wednesday night 3 months ago and trying to decipher what it is.
Mine are specially weird because I am also a software engineer and I use the sketch book also to scribble my ideas of how to solve things. So there are random anatomy drawings alongside plants for AI systems I work on, specially strange to see.
39:15 - I love this drawing in particular. I like the division of the space. It feels like the open sky above some sort of hybrid organic and machine complex on the ground. The building looks a little like an art nouveau style space vehicle. It's a really cool playground for my imagination. And I treasure those fine lines and details. I wouldn't change anything about it.
Peter, I would love to see you make a video showing us some of the pieces that you're most proud of, or ones that you just really enjoy and what your favourite things are about them. You're ability to finish a sketchbook always impresses me, I have so many half filled ones but not a single completed one 🤦🏼♀️ Thank you for another relaxing/satisfying/interesting/engaging video. You're art, voice and personality cheer me up every time 👍☺️
Heya Peter, I recently started getting serious with my art again after a rough patch in my life where I just couldn’t pick up my tablets pen and I just wanted to say that watching your videos always inspire me to draw even if it’s a dumb meme I thought of or something. Something about the casual laid backness of your videos along with your art make them perfect for watching while I’m sketching or trying to wrap my brain around how human bodies look lol. Keep up the good work it’s been amazing seeing your channel grow the past few years!
If I found a mysterious lamp that contained a genie and he would say to me ‘what is your wish? I can offer wealth, beauty, a castle on a lake, a sail boat big enough to sail the world with your very own crew. Your wish is my command. I’d simply say … ‘I’d like to draw like Peter!’.
This was very relaxing and I remember watching the videos of some of those drawings 🙂 I would think it would be fun to check back in 10 years and see what's been done ⌚⏰
I really like your old Sketchbook, way more than the new one!!! What you where drawing back then are stunning! The new ones, have your identity but they don't have the beauty the old ones used to have! The old fat bald man sitting on the chair, the ubstract with red like blood rops and some whit in it to highlight the red drops! The other one, where you said that yo didn't like the sloppy parts it had, however it look magnificent! Those for example, are some of my favorites of anything yu've created!
Keep up the good work, Peter. Your work is a great inspiration to guys like me who are not specially "talented" in Art, and right now are using the many art projects to ude them as inspiration and also for ideas on what to draw next. Thank you for everything you do, Peter, and keep up the great work,
Your art style is mind-blowingly amazing , and so is the fact that you have a crate worth of sketchbooks . I wish i could take 6 months off from work to just fill pages upon pages and draw , draw , draw ... I've drawn for years and have almost nothing to show for it , and now that i'm working 12h a day , it feels like my art mojo is slowly dying ...
Hullo Peter, I also love Calvin &Hobbs! I even copied some of his cartoons and enlarged them to poster size for my nephews! Watterson has never released his comics for mass production. My nephews desperately wanted artwork for their room. So I created a couple of drawings for them and even colored them with markers! I have thought your art sometimes has a certain feeling about them that harkens back to some of these comic strips. More often I get an H.R. Geiger vibe with so many of your drawings. I do enjoy them ALL! I have thought that I was ripping off Mr. Watterson but he has no desire to create any other forms of artwork for Calvin &Hobbs! I even painted a lunchbox for a niece for a birthday present. It was very fun and quite cute, certainly a one of a kind nobody else had anything like it in her school! Thank you for sharing all of your amazing drawings and other artworks. Oh! I did purchase the complete Calvin &Hobbs hardcover books all 3 volumes a few years ago. I am not trying to steal from Mr. Watterson, but unless I make something myself there is just not anything available! I believe that even I would like to have some Calvin &Hobbs Art for my walls! What do you think about creating copies of strips and having them for yourself or even giving them away? Heck I bet they would sell too! I hope you are doing well and enjoying yourself too.
If someone in 100 years finds Peters drawings they would probably interpret 1000 things into one drawing and talk about it for hours on which emotions the artist had gone through. Then in reality peter just flips through the sketches "yea thats a house".
The headset is amazing!! Makes me think about my old computer tech class🖤 been following since 2015 and i love to see you're still making beautiful art. Ive fallen out of drawing since high school, and haven't got back into it yet, but i'm trying.
Ever thought about being a concept artist ? you have a very unique style that would really work in that sector i think. Its just that i can imagine a indie game like "limbo" with landscapes/objects/creatures made from your drawings. In black and with and then a person in a color to contrast the rest of the world (32:48).
Good stuff. 😎 As per your new mic, it sounded very much like old AM radio or something of the like. No wait! It sounded like an old 80's or 90's telephone. The usual warm of your voice was gone missing. I hope you continue being well. Thank you for sharing all these sket... all your art.
Hello Peter 👋 Great sketchbook tour. I can imagine a character discovering your sketchbooks hundreds of years from now, trying to figure out what ink and nib.. doing a whole investigation on the art and the meaning 😄 that would be interesting.
4:04 those are moisture vaporators. They were stationary devices that could collected moisture from dry climates "On the desert planet of Tatooine, edible mushrooms frequently grew on the vaporators. For moisture farmers to make a living, they would need fields of moisture vaporators, and then security systems to protect them for those who might steal their water."
Apologies. My original comment was prompting you to draw on A3 or A2 size paper until I searched and found that you've already done that. Great sketchbook tour! 😃👍 I enjoyed seeing your creations and hearing your commentary on them. I look forward to the next sketchbook tour.
Personally I cant wait for more of your art to become purchasable. I'll wait patiently. 😐is it done yet? Oh and Luke Skywalkers aunt and uncle were moisture farmers
I think I found some genre names for Peter's art style: Alien Architecture OR Melting Brains OR Melting Tree Houses. I don't know which one fits the best...
I personally think it's good to date the stuff we do, like sketches. I've gone back through some of my stuff, and wished I'd dated it because you might think you'll always remember, but you don't. It's nice to have a gauge to see how you've progressed.
Peter, please create a kindle book on Amazon of your ink, B&W drawings. I am very old and my “housing is iffy so I am getting rid of most of my possessions, especially books. I am trying to replace as many of my favorite art books with kindle books. Nowhere near as wonderful as actual books but, c’est la vie. I do my reading on kindle now or use the library’s digital book services. I would love to buy your kindle book so I can peruse it at my leisure. Thanks for your UA-cam tour. That book would be fabulous to buy and download.
29:19 I see the head and eyes of a sad looking octopus in that drawing, and everything below the "squid head" is just its guts and insides... It does make it look gross but it's still a pretty drawing
I love your drawings, the way you draw. I wish I could draw like you because it looks so absorbing and satisfying and the results (your results) are wonderful. But I can’t…it’s jut not in my nature, so I’ll just enjoy yours. Lol.

with the advent of computers, drawing is kinda cumbersome and time-consuming, no need for it anymore.

I love the idea that you need that much power to un-bend a nana
@@jjskn93 I love the idea that a banana needs straightening. 🤣
And after all the work, time, and effort the universe put into it to bend it. Some people I guess just wanna pay extra for the straight ones. 🤷♀️
It's a sad state theese christians are in conversion therapy even to a banana shame on you its natural
Every time I see his Art I’m mesmerized. How and why can he draw something so specific but imaginary out of nothing
This is the first art channel that's made me want to go back to drawing again. Granted, I don't watch a lot of them, but it's still impressive.
Incredible as usual, your drawings continue to be a constant source of inspiration to me
This is my first and only time seeing your videos, this isn’t a tour. It’s a wild adventure!
A Peter sketchbook tour to kick off the weekend? Yes to all!

I totaly agree with both of you, Peter and you i mean. I like this drawing a lot but i understand that Peter think it is overwhelming.

I love the headset Peter, it gives me that sports coach vibe. Serious business!!!!

Every drawing an adventure and discovery. Really enjoyed the video and the narration. Fascinating and inspiring,
‘Good job Peter’
I was very pleased to hear this in the video. It's easy to be harsh and dismissive in reviewing our own work.
I dont even draw or watch too much mindless UA-cam videos but this guy is so entertaining. Hoping it'll motivate me to start
