8 years ago my grandfather lost his fight with Alzheimer's. The lasting memory I have of his wake is my grandmother. Standing beside his casket. Hand on his chest. Right next him like she had been for 65 years. All the way to the end.
My heart breaks for you brother. I lost my wife 16yrs ago this month. Never thought I would be alone or raising two boys on my own. This song brought up a lot of feels. Stay strong. Sending love to you both.
I mean, not much else to say that hasn’t been said already. This song hits hard and that last picture of the older man kissing his wife on the head brought tears. Whenever my fiancé and I actually get enough money to afford a wedding, pretty sure we found our first dance song. So good.
@user-kp9zj9qs8m bro you don't need money, my wife and I had a small gathering on the ocean, only invites our closest friends and family... best wedding ever.
I have loved and followed y’all for over 5 years now. You can feel passion and soul put in your music and in-person it was even more of an experience. Thank you! This is one of the most beautiful songs. Y’all are amazing
Thank you for this beautiful song. I played it for my grandfather while he was passing away. He loved Johnny Cash and talking about the lord above. I know he heard it and loved this song, so did my family. We played it also at his funeral. He was a Vietnam us army veteran who fought very hard. This song helped him go peacefully ❤ @shanesmithmusic
We are gifted only a vapor, yet there’s so much inside of it and so many braided together…. You could see bits of Shane in the faces of some of these couples and wow, how blessed he is to know he’s made up of bits and pieces of so many hearts that chose to bind themselves to one another in love, love that weathered life together from the most beautiful parts down to the most painful and challenging. It ain’t even my family and I’M getting choked up over here! They’ve given you a beautiful legacy, Shane. I pray my husband and I leave something as beautiful for our children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. Thank you for sharing pieces of that legacy in your music.
What a great song of love as a commitment to the long haul, with “burdens deep…” as we carry out vows we made for better or for worse. Divorce is just too damn easy in this country and the photos, home movies with the simple but profound words of this song sing to a deeper, more durable picture of love than our present world gives us. Of course, the Lord is the ultimate picture of this reality as “he is able to keep that which we’ve committed unto him against that day” (Philippians 1:6).
Timeless. That's the word to describe this song. It's so good and simple that if you told me it was the first song ever written I'd believe you and I'd say that they could have quit then, because they perfected it.
We all have that one person that makes us whole, that always makes us smile when we see them 🙂 This song is for my wife and the person who I still consider my best friend. After more than 20 years of marriage and spending half of our lives together.. I am definitely with her All The Way ❤
Timing is everything. My lovely and extraordinary mother-in-law passed last night and I can't help but be so happy about her reunion with my father-in-law after being apart for 20 years. Now they really are "All the Way". Thank you for such a beautiful song.
So so beautiful-- it makes me think of all the loving relationships that my grandparents had as these videos spark all of the memories of them together!
Someone needs to stop cutting onions! They hey have been cutting them all five times I’ve listened to this! This is real y’all. This is what music is supposed to be.
O man…this song is absolutely beautiful. I remember them playing it at red rocks and I was hooked. The emotion it brings. I cried listening to it again.
I could see my own parents in every video clip or slide in this video and they were together for 66 years until we lost mom this last year. And despite all the heartache and pain, they were together till the very end. Proof enough that nothing is as powerful as love to me. They went all the way.
You can always tell a great song by the goosebumps that you get. Great job! Just discovered this song this morning on my way to work! Y'all got a new fan in me!
This song saved my marriage. Not because I played it for her, but because it reminded her why I work such long hours and want to smash a six pack when I get home every day… I suffer to give my family what they need. I won’t live past 40 doing what I do, but I got a good life insurance till than. God bless!
Will somebody post a how to video? And if you do can you tag me? I’ll be checking periodically but trying to do by ear and piano isn’t something I normally play. 🙃
My dad is turning 102 in February he's not the same because he has dementia and he's getting weaker every day him and my mom will be married 72 years in Feb also and she is 89

Great story!
After 15 years, I'm losing my love. Under two weeks to live, this song really hit home.
Never thought I'd be alone at 49😢.
Brother, I'm so sorry. This made me big cry. I'm sending you love and strength
@@brada1997 thanks I'll take all I can get.
We’re so sorry to hear that.. thinking about you both and will be sending you love and prayers.
❤

Reminds me of Johnny cash's "hurt". Beautiful, brother.
Soon as he started singing thought of Johnny Cash
Agree! My husband and I have always said Shane has a Johnny Cash flare to his music!
Agree! My husband and I have always said Shane has a Johnny Cash flare to his music!
I thought the same. Just come across these musicians with this song and thought "holy crap Johnny has been reborn! So great!

This song is solid gold perfection. What a gift to be able to create music and songs.
Best band in the world.
Them, Steel Woods, and Charles Wesley Godwin are incredible
37 years with my darling one... so far

This song made me and my entire family cry at red rocks! Thank you boys for everything and all the hard work you put in!
Bro seeing my grandparents in this brought a tears 😢
Same
How’d your grandparents appear in this?

Right in the feels. Celebrating 28 years soon.

Unfortunately not all of us find that person. Even if they exist.
Reminds me of that new Shane Smith & the Saints song...and it's about as sick as all the others. Nailed it boys...nailed the shit out of it.

Shane Smith reminds me of Johnny Cash....great talent sir!
Yes!!! Been waiting for this since first hearing it at Red Rocks! ❤
Nobody here thought Shane Smith was going to be 256 years old?? Holy moly that can't be the same man singing this song!
It's truly amazing how beautiful lyrics can make you feel. Thank you for making us all feel.
Shane, this is so beautiful, heartfelt, soul touching. Y'all just keep getting better. ❤

I kept waiting for this song to suddenly start rocking balls. I'm still waiting.
Everything stopped when I heard this song! My soul feels this!
My new favorite song
This guy is channeling Johnny Cash as he sings. I could just hear The Man in Black singing this along with him
❤
R&J, I love you
Amazing song. It started with Ben Folds Five vibes and rolled into Johnny Cash “hurt” vibes.
No pude más , me hizo llorar recordando a mi padre 😢
Johnny Cash vibes!

This song is just stunning. Saw you guys at The Long Road UK and now a fan. Album preordered and hopefully will catch you when back in 🇬🇧
I love you Jenny Whittaker. In this life and the next, I hope we share many moments together.
❤😢
Man I’ve already chosen this song for my wedding this august. There isn’t a dollar amount I wouldn’t pay to have you play this at our wedding
Need it done and the piano so I can learn it
Anyone have the piano tabs or a how to video for this?
Andrew ❤
Will somebody post a how to video? And if you do can you tag me? I’ll be checking periodically but trying to do by ear and piano isn’t something I normally play. 🙃
I really thought this was the man in black the first 5 times I heard this.
Everyone I’ve played this for thought the same thing
My dad is turning 102 in February he's not the same because he has dementia and he's getting weaker every day him and my mom will be married 72 years in Feb also and she is 89
His wife helped him write this
My man just decade this song to Me!! Not good at intubating songs.
