Actually not actually,,, The main song of Cabaret with the same title has part when its describe Judy Garland's death just ironic
"I used to have a girlfriend
      known as Elsie,
      With whom I shared
      four sordid rooms in Chelsea
      She wasn't what you'd call
      a blushing flower...
      As a matter of fact
      she rented by the hour.
The day she died the neighbors
      came to snicker:
      "Well, that's what comes
from too much pills and liquor."
But when I saw her laid out like a Queen,
      She was the happiest... corpse...
      I'd ever seen."
Which judy garland died at her bedroom in Belgravia just next to Chelsea, all in London and overdose

@@ddrse Liza was young at the time. It's hard being a child with an addict parent and some times you need a break from them for your own mental health. You can't help anyone if you yourself aren't ready to tackle on that responsibility. By the time Judy died, she was so far gone that I don't think any of her three kids would have been much help to her. You can't help those who don't want to be helped or can't be helped. That said, I don't doubt Liza thought of Judy and would have eventually entered back in her life and even provided help had Judy lived longer. I bet Liza blames herself somewhat or at least dealt with the blame even though none of it was/is her fault.

@@KenzieTawili Money is most of it though. It can buy you food, shelter, education, protection, entertainment, opportunities abroad, get you into exclusive boarding schools which feed into the Ivy League which then can lead to a more successful career. It can lead to meeting contacts you never would have made. There’s a good chance Liza would never have been famous if she was not the daughter of Judy Garland.
I’d rather have rich parents who provide for me and are emotionally damaged then parents who were emotionally available/stable and poor.

Judy Garland and Edith Piaf shared a lot of resemblances in their lives: they had abusive parents and started very young in the showbusiness. They had to fight to survive in a very tough manly world. Their relationships were always disastrous and unhappy. They died in their peak of age sharing that same empty eyes pattern. They lived through their art intensely!! Love them both.....

Judy’s voice was a gift from God and a natural singer where Liza And Lorna needed a lot of training so anyone who would compare Judy with any of her daughters, especially Liza, is just ridiculous. At the Oscars when they celebrated the 75th anniversary of the wizard of Oz, All three of Judy’s kids were asked on the red carpet, who was the better singer in the family and almost in unison, Liza, Lorna and Joe all said “Mama, of course!”

I have to say, I’ve always best loved Andrea Martin’s send up of Minnelli, on SCTV! She’s hilarious! I never really was too crazy about Minnelli’s work, but I’d listen to her voice’s uncanny resemblance to her mother’s and just marvel at the similarities,p while still maintaining her own identity. But when she was on “Arrested Development,” I thought I’d die laughing, she was so _GOOD,_ and that experience has made me see her very differently. Always keep an open mind, and always be ready and willing to change your opinion about many things!
