Jay finally confirmed on his Twitter that he's no longer going to be uploading Yandere Sim content due to YanDev's actions and it's sorta surreal. YanSim was how I found Jay in the first place and I'm super nostalgic for the old myth busting videos since they were part of my childhood.
Very glad he dropped the game for obvious reasons but damn, it really is the end of an era. Good on Jay for doing the right thing.

@@salezoria one of the main reasons yansim games go tumbling over is because they upload their progress and I think thats the curse. Even then, I don't think its a loss cause! I've seen a lot of people who have been interested in recreating the project and though discontinued; many fan projects showed huge promise. Buut uh I guess time will tell lol 👆

Another reason why fan games flop is because Alex /yanderedev would manipulate them and threaten them with suicide, multiple people have tried and even succeeded in making a good game that was a threat to yansim and yanderedev immediately went after the and manipulated them telling them to cancel the project. I’m hoping now that the people who were mistreated in that way continue their projects as yanderdev is obviously not a threat anymore.
i think a game heavily inspired by yandere sim that emphasises the 'horror' elements by a mile would be really cool. where the environment is bleak and the main character is depicted as an actual bad person with extreme issues rather than a cute anime girl. and all of the creepy shit is taken out. itd be a fun way to explore depressing themes and how people can be lead to murder that id love to play! sadly we are in the worst timeline of earth and yandere sim is all we get
@squeezeecheese8829Yeah, but the only reason that had any effect was because of the platform and influence he had. Now, less and less people are on his side. There are still many crazed fans, but the general public has undeniable proof. For the most part, he knows he has no real grounds to sue on (besides most of the stuff being pre-made unity assets, or stolen assets, the concept isn't that original/specific to yansim). That's why he relies on fear mongering. + I don't think many would care if he harmed himself, even if nobody wants that on their conscience.

All of that is now gone... and I don't blame Jay for this. He did the right choice not wanting to be associated with the game or the developer anymore, I'm just sad that an era is practically over because of the disgusting, selfish actions of one individual.
Keep up the good work Jay. You and everyone else deserves better than this.

Crazy how jay has been playing for nearly a decade and yandere dev still hasn’t finished the game lol, Jay is amazing for not giving up on this game
In all fairness, it is probably only him so development is slower and he takes regular breaks, but we're at a point where there should be all the rivals like he promised a couple of years ago
He can’t make that deadline because he has to churn out a massive amount of bug fixes, small features like this, spend a lot of time communicating with 3rd party volunteers, and optimize the game for every patch. If it wasn’t currently available as a beta he wouldn’t have to do most of those, and having more than one person would speed it up massively. He really only has a few hours every few days to actually work on story progression, and it being the biggest chunks required is gonna push that deadline for many more years. Just look at the progress updates on implementing Osana and it’s clear how long it really will take.

@@Goose-bk4tk He had a whole team try to help but they wanted a year to rewrite his code because he’s an amateur coder that doesn’t know how to index, condense, or compile code into a simpler manner. He has an obligation to keep churning out updates and minor additions, otherwise his entire revenue stops so he couldn’t do it. Do it yourself if you can do it better, there’s dozens of people who tried with teams and couldn’t. I just don’t get the hate when it’s currently a free game with no obligation to be involved with it. There’s a reason why every other successful indie game is either a 10-20 minute repeatable game, RPG Maker, or sandbox with procedural generation instead of developed storyline with unique gameplay throughout.

Gotta agree with these recent comments: love you and your content Jay, I’ve been watching you since middle school and you really do seem like a caring and good guy (hard to come by online these days). But I really think it’s time you move on from YanSim, and maybe even make a statement disavowing YanDev and his actions. It would be awful for your younger viewers to fall into a fanbase run by a groomer. Ultimately it’s up to you what course of action you take, but I hope you can address this situation and use your platform to protect any kids watching from future harm. This marks the end of a series that will ALWAYS be in my heart. i was here since 2014 and im currently reminiscing like everyone else here. i watched this series when i was at my lowest. when there were scars on my left arm and wrist that i put there, this series saved my life as it helped me a lot to take my mind off things. to smile and to laugh is what i did here.i remember jay simping for the nurse, the countless deaths of midori, jay complaining that panther was hard despite being labeled "Very Easy", the Saga for the Alphabet Killer Challenge and Yandere Simulator Myths
All good things come to a end.

Because Jay and Mike are some of the only people who have kept up with the game and basically serve as free advertisement, so if they stop, I don't see the game going any further. I knew Yandere Simulator wasn't gonna ever release as a finished game, but I didn't think it would end like this. I found Jay through his Yandere videos, and stuck around for his personality, and continue to do so. It's sad that this will be the last Yandere video, but I'm thankful for them because they all made my day, and got me to discover Jay's channel. It's a shame that the game had some level of potential, and memorable VA cast.
It's amazing that when I discovered Yandere Simulator and Jay, I was roughly an 8th grader, now I'm a college student on my 3rd year. Thank you for those childhood memories, Jay.

I've also been watching since then but it's good that he's not going to be supporting Alex Mahan anymore after this. Jay's myths vids were great but now they're going to stay in the past. Now we can enjoy all his other great content :)

If you had been keeping up with the game you would know that if you have a high enough Physical stat and a concealable weapon (i.e. knife, boxcutter, screwdriver, etc NOT baseball bat, axe, crowbar, etc) then you could enter a struggle minigame with the teacher and kill them if you succeed in it. No need for Easter eggs, it's been a thing for awhile now, even before the Iron Maiden. Keep up.

I dunno why people are surprised that Yandev turning into a creep. Like damn, what a surprise right? He always has been, or I would say he will likely to do that especially his mentality and the fandom being majority are kids..

I knew that all along but, the situation is so bad that even yandev felt sorry for it. Plus, a lot of the va's are leaving
especially in one video when he announces yanchan and yankun body pillows. he had NEVER had so much emotion in his voice.
While it's sad to see this series come to an end after having followed it on and off since the golden age of Yandere Simulator content there really was no other option at this stage. There's no coming back from what Yanderedev did and it is best if everyone washes their hands of the project and moves on to other things.
My biggest hope is that somebody buys Yandere simulator fixes the whole panties for currency thing puts it back up and actually finishes it because then the Yandere simulator error will be back
Yamane's Love Life is looking quite similar to how Yandere Simulator was in the early stages of its golden age, so I'm hoping that game will continue development and fill the niche. Even if Yandere Simulator gets sold off and continues development with a different creator it's still going to have the stigma from this event attached to it and even if some of the volunteers who pulled out were to come come back if that happened I can't imagine they all would. We're never going to get those days back with Yandere Simulator after this debacle.

You made so many peoples days whenever you uploaded a new yandere sim video, you helped people throughout their most difficult times, you made so many memories, you made so many funny jokes, you played yan sim for us even if you didn't feel well. I've been watching you since 2017 and whenever you posted a new yan sim video, i would immediately watch it even if i was busy. Thank you so much jay for trying to not give up on the game when almost everyone else did, thank you for making me laugh too many times & finally, thank you for pulling up with quality content🩷 im not gonna lie, im gonna miss these videos so much but i heavily respect you for no longer playing the game. I can't believe that Jay maintained interest in thia game for nearly a decade. It feels like the end of an era to know that there won't be another. Despite the other games he played, Jay always felt like "The Yandere sim guy" who really made the game what it was, keeping it interesting with his personality, challenges, curiosity, and shtick. Nevertheless, I understand Jay's decision and respect him for it.
Thank you Jay, for all the good times you've given us with this same game through the years. I hope you can find a new game to binge and obsess over for way longer than anyone else, while still keeping things fresh and interesting.

There's also the fact that he's stuck with this game for nearly a _decade,_ long after the vast majority of UA-camrs forgot about it. To further distinguish "Jay's YanSim" from that of others, throughout all these years, Jay has been consistently taking input and accepting challenges, myth debunks, and mechanic explorations that the community wants to see.
Jay made this game a part of his public persona on UA-cam, heavily referencing it in numerous other videos. When it came to YanSim videos, he didn't just play the game, but made the experience a uniquely "Jay" event. One can even say that the game is what it is because of him and his influence (mostly due to how he maintained public interest in it), and this has legitimate reason for plausibility, found in Alex's nods to Kubz Scouts in the development videos and Easter eggs.
In this context, I don't think it's toxic to think of Jay as "The Yan sim guy" in general, or rather, it _wasn't._ Of course, given the new controversy, Jay has made it clear that, moving forward, he no longer wants to be associated with Alex. It's because of this, and the weight of the actions Alex took that I believe the community owes it to Jay to mentally separate him from the game.
Jay built his audience via his takes on YanSim. This game was so deeply ingrained in his channel that a lot of his best-preforming content that doesn't focus on the game itself still branches from it (games similar to YanSim, challenges in unrelated games inspired by YanSim, countless references Jay makes to the game while playing others). It's only natural that one would immediately think of this game when they think of Jay; BUT given the context of the situation at present, I commend Jay for taking the responsible route and making it clear that he is distancing himself from it, despite it being such a core part of his public presence. Of course, we owe it to this man to honor his wishes.
In general, there's nothing wrong with associating a content creator with something that they've ingrained into their image, especially as heavily as we see here (especially when that thing partially owes its relevance to that content creator). The duty of mental separation that falls on us now is because of Alex's disgusting behavior, and Jay's responsible act of ceasing involvement with Alex's work.

I don’t remember exactly what got me into your channel, as it’s been some time, but Yandere Simulator was definitely one of the main things I loved to watch. A real shame that such fun memories are now forever tainted, because someone decided to go get some “cupcakes”. As if being a borderline creep wasn’t bad enough, the dev has insultingly only managed to scrape by this half-assed, unfinished mess over an entire decade. I grew up on jay’s videos, especially his game play for yandere sim. I’ve been watching the development for the game for so long. I started loving this game when I was about 11 and now I’m 18. It makes me so upset to see what yandev did cause I looked up to him when I was younger but of course when I got older I started to find out a lot of the bad things he used to do and what we all found out recently just ruined the whole game for all of us. I will never stop watching jay cause he has been my favorite UA-camr for so many years, but it really makes me sad to see he’s not making any more yandere videos (I know it’s for the best and I’m happy he’s not supporting yandevs game anymore). Watching jays videos on yandere sim always made me so happy even after allll these years and I wish the developer wasn’t the horrible person that he is. I do hope that some how, some day, someone can take the game out of Yandevs hands and finally finish it and make it better. I know the game would be so great if it wasn’t made by a narcissistic, disgusting, and cocky person like yandev. This game was such a huge part of my childhood and still was. I loved this game so much and i don’t know why but I kinda feel betrayed for some reason, I don’t know how to explain it. I was so hyped to follow the development and watch this game grow when I was little, even though it was taking a long time. I had hope it was going to be worth the wait cause I loved the game so much but it was ruined. I still want to love the game because it had such a hold on me for so long but I hate the developer. They were never friends, jay made a video about his opinion on yandere dev and yandere simulator but i think he privated, you can find it reuploaded on YT I believe, anyways jay stated that he doesnt care for yandere dev and believes that yandere dev doesnt like him because hes always nagging about the bugs in the game and stuff, and he said that he doesn’t care if yandere sim finishes or not, hes basically there to enjoy the ride and see how the game turns out
