    One of the few sermons that I have heard which included the topic of abandonment in divorce. Such a good sermon. Thank you God for your mercy, may we continue to grow spiritually and draw closer to you.

    I’m in need of prayer for my marriage. My wife has filed. She won’t see or hear the signs God is giving her to repent of this desire. Except for the filing neither of us has crossed the covenant. No abuse, no vices, no cheating, etc. We love one another but have some communication issues that cause hurt feelings. That’s all. Nothing major. Just some misunderstandings. Please, we need your prayers.

      He does not love God. Trust me I know. I once was the same. He wants to love God but hes not honest with himself, as his Waite I’m sorry to say but you need to fast fast fast and pray like you never have sister..if you want him saved…the only thing that will help is true fasting and true prayer.. he needs God to intervene and God wants your obedience just as much. This is all meaningful if indeed the Spirit of Christ dwells within you both and you both LOVE God…humility is the path that achieves much grace.

    Yeah, I not one of the lucky ones in marriage. I filed 2 divorced on adultery and abuse physical and emotional, and 1 on adultery after 18 years. It was a no contest divorce and lost my son. I have learned alot of lessons though. I am still fighting. 67 in Texas.

    I am a Pastor (trained in NT greek) and someone shared this with me. I truly do like a bunch that he says in here, but he’s WAY off on abuse. First of all, the word in 1 Cor. 5:11 is not abusive, it’s swindler or extortioner or cheater. Reconcile this however you want, but the Bible does not explicitly address spousal abuse and does not give it as a grounds for divorce. Secondly, he opens the door for abuse so big you could drive a semi truck through it. Not just physical but mental or emotional abuse too. You know how many people claim to be “emotionally abused” now days? That’s often just as weak of an excuse as what he talked about when people say they are unhappy or that their spouse is crazy.
    To be clear, if a spouse is beating another spouse, that is breaking the commandment that thou shalt not murder by way of unlawful physical harm and the marriage should be separated for a time to figure out what’s going on. There could be an argument for abandonment too. Clearly, I’m not saying that husbands should be allowed to beat their wives. But I’m disappointed that this preacher just shoved the word “abuse” in the Bible where it doesn’t belong. That’s theologically irresponsible.

    He has cheated on her several times and he works out of the country
    Doesn't won't to come home right now to her and the daughter

    The pastor says the 4th reason for divorce is 1 Corinthians 5:11- to not keep company with anyone named a brother who is living in sin. A fellow believer/brother isn’t a spouse. What if the sinful spouse isn’t a believer? Reason #4 shouldn’t be on the list. A fellow brother is not a spouse. The verse would say believing spouse or non believing spouse.

    Please do a little more research on this passage. What version of the Bible are you using? Before the KJV this was not how this passage was interpreted. Today there are a couple of versions that are true to the original, the ESV being one of them.
    Before the KJV this passage was interpreted as God hates the treachery or violence against the wife of one's youth. God, Himself, is a divorcee because of the idolatry and adultery of Israel.
    God, Himself, made provision for the weaker one in the marriage to protect her from a man who deals treacherously with her.
    I suggest you read Divorce and Remarriage in the Church by David Instone Brewer for more in depth info on this.
    Thank you for listening.

    My wife filed for Divorce February 7th 2023. Feb 2nd I found out that my wife didn't place me on the deed of her home after I paid it off September 2015 3 months after our wedding. I sold my home and moved into her home. When I saw the house taxes and saw that my name wasn't on them I asked my wife point blank. All I received was silence and a stare down. I asked several times till I got tired of her silent treatment which is what she does when she doesn't want to talk about issues that effect us. So what room away I screamed "TALK TO ME"! Again nothing. So I called her a cuss word and walked away. 2 hours later she left and has been gone for 6 months. I have repented and asked forgiveness but she refuses to forgive. She refuses therapy, chooses not talk and just send texts. We have been married 3.5 years, it is both our second. We are both turning 60 this year. I discovered for myself through therapy I am a reactor not a responder. I didn't know how to handle silence after 2 years of it. She lives with her unsaved daughter and husband. I want my marriage and have wanted it from day one. Other than the communication issue all was well. I question her salvation due to her actions these past 2 years. I am praying for reconciliation.

      Your wife was very wrong to take your money and not put you on the deed, but unfortunately, you have to do your due diligence before getting married about all the legal ramifications to protect yourself. Hopefully you can find an attorney to help you now. I'm sorry you are going through this.

  • @bwj54
    @bwj54 Рік тому

    This pastor gives dangerous advice. He says to not get a legal document and let the church write 1 for you. You absolutely need a legal document to protect yourself. What if an abusive person won't leave? You need court action. What if there's a chance he could take the kids and not bring them back? You need a legal document. What if he has stripped all the accounts? You need financial protection. Also, he said "don't take your kids to some counselor, bring them to the church." This is also not good advice, especially when he has just told people they dont need a legal document to protect themselves.
