This was incredible! I have so much love for Carl Sagan and the original Wanderers video. This was done with great respect to the original and gave me goosebumps!
The line: "I am tormented with an everlasting itch for things remote, I love to sail forbidden seas." is just so profound. Amazing video, amazing soundtrack, (again.)
Extremely well done and edited. Please include a link to the RSI Community Hub at CIG in your Description to make it easy for folks to upvote you there as well. Keep up the great work!
You can see us in game now. You can visit these worlds ...and more. Maybe it’s a little early. Maybe the time is not quite yet for you. But these worlds- promising untold adventures-beckon. It's for the wanderers and explorers who hear the siren call and are brave enough to venture into parts unknown and sail forbidden seas.
Looks UbiSoft is trying to create their own Star Citizen and mimic the SC formula of community feedback. That's a good thing, it can only help make the game better.
The only way to do it currently with 3.0 is by using Cheat Engine. Though I wouldn't recommend it unless you have an extra account which you wouldn't mind if it ever gets banned. It's even more risky than before because unlike previous offline modes, you're still connected to CIG's servers for session, inventory, and general player data. They have recently said that it's against the TOS yet again, but we still don't know if they ever intend to take action against people who have used it in the past or present. This guy is either using an extra account or he's really brave. I've noticed that a lot of people think that it would be in extremely bad taste for CIG to ban backers who use Cheat Engine just so they can play offline with better framerates, and because of this the chances of getting banned are extremely low. Others call them idiots and think that it's an inevitability at this point since they are technically hacking the game, which puts them in the same category as aimbotters, speed hackers, etc. I'm not too sure what to believe, but my personal philosophy has always been better safe than sorry. In any case, the devs were recently working on bind culling, one of the bigger parts of the netcode improvements that should result in a big boost to performance, with the intention to release it in a PTU patch this week. It sounds like offline mode will no longer be necessary for playable framerates soon.
Meh. Wanderers is classic, and setting some SC footage to the audio is a good idea. But this is mostly - with a few exceptions - a random collection of shots set to that audio. Very good shots to be sure, but there's very little coordination with the dialog. Something much better could be made.
I added credits both at the bottom right of the video right at the beginning and in the description (although UA-cam crops it so you would need to click the "show more" button in order to see it completely). You are right about the link though, I just added one to the original video. Thanks for pointing it out!
Carl Sagan and Star Citizen.. perfect match

Beautiful....this could be the best thing around to show anyone else this game
Genius blend of Sagan and this game that encapsulates the sense of wonder he often referenced. Well done; would love to see more using his works.
Mate, if you don't win MVP for this... Well effing done!
absolutely perfect melding - as an 'older' SC I grew up with Carl and Cosmos - he would be very pleased!
Excellent video. Was surprised to see it is 5 years old.

6 people thumbs this down...how salty do you have to be?
how do you get the free camera
Ok how are you getting these framerates? My PTU experience has been in en tirely 5-20fps >.
offline mode
How are you doing this for 3.0 without cheatengine?

I remember those days. It's much better now. It won't get to ideal levels though until server meshing is in.
Which city is at 1:06? Is it Terra's capital, Prime?
Nope, it's Area 18, one of the landing zones of ArcCorp. Looks quite different at night doesn't it?
+TheFrostHound: Yep, sure does.

Then go and do it...) you can always make something "better" the point is most people don't have the talent or drive to even try.
Alberto Martinez you don't have to be a producer to be a film critic ;)
You need to link and credit the original video and music.
Agreed.
