The quality of life improvements like: reusable TMs, no HMs, easier leveling up, new moves, fairy types, more Pokemon, & easier access to moves will presumably help team building & the game quality a lot. Though Gen 8 has given reason for concern & this remake really should be based off of Platinum; not DP. I prefer Magneton over Luxray as Luxray's moveset isn't that great
Luxray is just awful, he is not even much faster than metagross and he has a lackluster movepool
there were too many QOL improvements though IMHO. sword and shield feel so easy. there was one gym where i was defeated by the leader on the first try and they give you so many items. revives, potions, hyper potions etc. i hope they keep diamond and pearl relatively hard.
@@jakehardy5997 Sword/Shield is too easy especially with how every Pokemon gets exp for any battle/capture. The idea of candies though is very helpful for under leveled Pokemon (such as ones u just caught or received) or Pokemon with very high level evolutions. The ability to reteach Pokemon any move at any PokeCenter is very good also helps with certain evolutions. It is nice to be able to catch wild Pokemon that normally required a very tedious process or a trade evolution especially if the Pokemon needs to hold a particular item such as the very popular & powerful Scizor

Me look at the Gym and Elite 4 advantages and then comparing the starters
Torterra weak against - Ice, Bug and Fire. Strong against Rock, Water, Steel, Electric and Ground. Immune to Electric. Checks Cynthia's Lucario, Milotic, Gastrodon (DP) and Garchomp (As in not weak against it)
Infernape - Weak against Water, Rock (as a Chimchar), Ground and Psychic. Strong against Rock (As a Monferno), Grass, Steel and Ice. Only checks Cynthia's Lucario and Roserade
Empoleon - Weak against Ground, Electric, Grass (Piplup and Prinplup) and Fighting. Stong against Rock, Ice, Ground and Fire. Doesn't check Cynthia at all.
So no, you are incorrect. Best starter to choose for Sinnoh is Turtwig/Torterra. Only weak against 3 of the type specialists (As opposes to Infernape 4 - point in favor of Torterra. Same amount of strenghts between Infernape and Torterra (With 5 each). Torterra has the immunity (Which Infernape doesn't have) - which is a second point in favor Torterra). Torterra has more checks against Cynthia (With 4). It doesn't matter if she uses Togekiss or Gastrodon, since then Torterra has 3 checks, while Infernape keeps his 2 checks against her - another point in favor of Torterra.
So that are 3 Points in favor of Torterra compared to Infernape, who has zero points in comparison (But does better than Empoleon in the Cynthia department check), because Infernape and Empoleon have the same amount of weaknesses and advantages against the type specialist, with Four in each department.
I’m gonna rock infernape, garchomp, roserade, (staraptor or togekiss I can’t decide since fairy type added), (floatzel or maybe gyarados), (dialga if counting legendary and froslass if not). I think that gives more coverage than the team you provided. Not saying the team isn’t good it’s just kinda packed with fighting and weak to ground and psychic imo which are two of the elite four.

My team is gardevoir and Gallade because why the hell not use both, infurnape, togekiss, spiratomb, and a last pokemon that I change every playthrough it's usually a mid/late game pokemon that I ran into and wanted to use

Other good members for this team include but not limited to
Gyarados, which can learn Dragon Dance and possibly another Dragon move if you don't want Garchomp and (or) picked Torterra and don't want 2 ground types on your team.
Gastrodon: If you don't want Garchomp for some reason and especially since it only has 1 weakness (Grass) which can learn either Sludge Bomb or Ice Beam to cover that weakness (I prefer Ice Beam)
Drapion or Stuntank: Only 1 weakness, and the Dark type is really helpful though I prefer Drapion since it has better stats and can learn either Aqua Tail or Ice Fang to cover its only weakness (Ground)
Gardevoir if you want a Fairy type to help out with any Dragon types and possibly Spiritomb (Especially Cynthia's Spiritomb) as long as it doesn't out speed you.
Weaville with its good attack and speed.

I guess I must be one of the few people who plays Pokémon that doesn't use the same six Pokémon throughout the game I like to change my team everyday and use new Pokémon use a different per gym leader.
Fighting is my favorite type along with Fire, so you can guess my favorite Pokemon will always be in the Team.

The one pokemon I would want on my team is Lucario.
Gen 4 had a whole 2 fire types. So yeah, infernape just is the right choice unless you like ponyta.
My favorite team for diamond:
Infernape, Azumarill, Vespiquen, Honchkrow, Medicham, Raichu
Not the best but I don’t like using staraptor, luxray, roserade, floatzel, lucario, garchomp over and over and over

If you want a good starter for battling barry's starter, pick piplup. It can learn peck which can take out turtwig easily. And on the elite four, you can beat flint no problem, especially his infernape.

My team was: Empoleon, Purugly, Togekiss, Gallade, Yanmega and Pachirishu.
However, after I was able to transfer my Pokémon in the PalPark I transfered my Blaziken and Seviper from Emerald. So my final team was:
Empoleon, Blaziken, Seviper, Purugly, Togekiss and Gallade.
I know it’s not the best team, especially the purugly, Seviper and pachirishu but I use Pokémon that I actually like instead of the strongest Pokémon. I still have a nice type coverage in my team!

I have no idea if Megas are coming in the game, but it needs to happen for me to pay full price for the dual pack, on top of a good exclusive Pre-order bonus, like: a Shiny Shinx with perfect stats with the only in-game Luxanite and it Mega Evolves into a Sabre-toothed Electric/Dark Pokemon with Strong Jaw.
But my theory team is:
1. Infernape (this will cover Fire/Fighting/Poison)
2. Torterra (this will cover Grass/Ground/Rock)
3. Empoleon (this will cover Water/Steel)
4. Dusknior (this will cover Ghost/Psychic/Normal)
5. Luxray (this will cover Electric/Dark/Fairy)
6. Dragonite (this will cover Dragon/Flying/Ice)
Otherwise I'll wait for a price drop and I could get a Platinum Rom and an emulator for free while I wait while I think about buying Legends: Arceus.

My team was always infernape, staraptor, luxray, gastrodon, weavile and bastiodon
Respectfully, where is Gastrodon? Gastrodon is an amazing water and ground type with great stats and amazing versatility. Plus, for the " best" team in Gen 4, you are lacking in any kind of defensive potential, which is kind of required to round out any good team. Don't even get me started on the fact that every single one of your picks is a better physical attacker than special, (except Lucario, but that is not enough, and honestly it has better physical coverage anyway) so lets change it. Gastrodon is an amazing special attacker, and will be our replacement for Gallade. Gastrodon is first available at the valley Windworks, long before you can get a Ralts, and trust me, it'll serve you well.
Now, with the characteristics in mind of bulky, preferably special attacker, with great coverage, let's replace Luxray with Magnezone. Now, Magnezone only evolves in Mt Coronet, which is relatively late in the game, but to be honest, Magneton will serve you fine for the time being. It has great defences, amazing special offences, and is all around just a great pokemon. As opposed to Luxray, I will admit it is harder to obtain, and its ability is less useful, but those are minor drawbacks to an otherwise amazing, and insanely powerful steel cannon. Just keep away the pesky ground types with Gastrodon, and you will be in space-ship shape.
Now, the final choice on the team is always the hardest. There are many great pokemon in Gen 4, so I will honestly leave the last team slot open for you to pick whatever you want. The team can cover pretty much anything you throw at it as is, so the sixth slot should be something you personally want to use. I can still give recommendations of course, but these aren't as clear choices as the previous 5. For recommendations, Weavile is great, Roserade offers valuable bulk and coverage (though you gain a third ice weakness), Abomasnow is cool, Mamoswine is fantastic, Mismagius is fast and covers pesky psychic types, or heck, go for a Lucario (though you will gain a third ground type weakness, be warned). I personally would pick Weavile or Mamoswine, leaning more toward Weavile for the psychic coverage, but hey, like I said, you have the final say.
So in short, the best team for Gen 4 that consists solely of Gen 4 pokemon would (in my opinion) be:
Infernape
Staraptor
Gastrodon
Garchomp
Magnezone
Your pick (Recommended: Weavile)
I think you know a team is truly fantastic when it covers pretty much everything with only 5 members, and the sixth can be pretty much whatever you want it to be.
Gastrodon isnt needed when you have Garchomp. If you want defensive buffer go with Togekiss. The team I would personally go with is
Infernape
Gallade
Togekiss
Garchomp
Frosslass
Staraptor
Infernape isn't even the best from an in-game playthrough perspective, since Torterra has the most advantages and less weaknesses against the type specialists as well as the only starter that has the most checks against Cynthia typing wise, while also typing wise not being weak to any of her mons (Roserade is neutral due to Toterra being part Ground).
@@nickdentoom1173 Yes, BUT. If we already have Garchomp on the team, and Gastrodon, it is far better to have a fire type than another x4 weakness to ice and the same type as other memberes. Gen 4 is also seriously lacking in any sort of fire type aside from Infernape, and so it is also the best pick to go for in terms of replaceability. There are other pretty strong grass types this gen, but good luck finding a decent fire type.
@@radosbarner1734 Garchomp isn't a good choice when you have Torterra anyways (Especially since Torterra alongside Gastrodon is the best ground type to choose from in the game anyways).
@@nickdentoom1173 While this is semi-true, Garchomp is undeniably one of the strongest pokemon this generation, if not ever. Great speed, sky high attack, and decent natural bulk means it can not only sweep teams, but once it gets up to speed, pretty much the entire game. It struggles only against ice types, which Infernape can take out very easily, and dragons, which it can take out on its own. Offensively, it can struggle with some steel types, but that, again, is covered by infernape. You are correct that infernape is not the best starter based on its trainer battle performance (things like Gyms, Elite four, champion), but it is picked over torterra because of its synergy with Garchomp, and the fact it is extremely hard to replace.
Steel Wing for sure, so your Staraptor can pimp smack all the fairies.

I think game freak should make a game where you roam every freakin region and have your perfect team from getting pokemon from every region.
seems like a pretty big game, would take a while and pretty big download.
Gamefreak will never do this for a number of reasons
1. Levelling will be an issue (And there is absolutely no point in having every region in the same game if you need to default back to lvl 5 to start in a new region)
2. TM usage will be a problem.
3. The game will become damn expensive resource wise.
4. They will lose money cuz they never can make remakes for those games anymore.
Going for Torterra, Froslass, Gardevoir, Rampardos, Houndoom, And Mawile, id go scizor instead of mawile but i don't have any friends to trade with
I think the optimal team would be something with infernape, gastrodon, Roserade, Garchomp, and I can’t think of 2 more members. Maybe to togekiss but idk

I always take the fire starter unless I'm playing gen 1 or 7 since primarina and venasaur are the best starters of their regions

I don’t get why everyone who takes chimchar takes starraptor. You’ve already have a fighting type with close combat but it’s stab. Every UA-camr and their mom takes infernape (I do too) and starraptor. And I just don’t get it.
