Great video and beautiful views, Steve. I can only imagine the power behind those eruptions. Crazy how scarred the landscape still is from something that happened that long ago. Thanks for the shout out, Steve. That was very kind of you. Those berries looked tasty. I love the connection to Spirit Lake and the minute on the mountain. I hope we can get up on a hike again in 2023. Have a blessed week.
Thanks John. Glad you enjoyed our visit to Mount Saint Helens. It was amazing to see for the first time. Jennifer was a great guide and so fun to hike with again. You are welcome on the shoutout. Glad you liked the correlation. Hopefully you will crest that 1K mark soon. The berries were amazing. I thought about those berries all the way home! I ended up buying some Huckleberry jam before I made it home. LOL I'm looking forward to another hike with you. Have a great day.

Thank you so much. Thanks for following along on our adventure. So glad you enjoyed the scenery as much as we did. For being our first time here, we sure were impressed at the destruction and the beauty. It was a great trip. Even more to come the next day when we visited Mount Rainier. So pretty. Take care.
Thanks! Glad you liked our visit here. It was awesome to finally see Mount St. Helens for the first time. So amazing to see the destruction and recovery of the area. Take care and have wonderful day.

Thanks Bruce. It is still pretty slow to recover. It was awesome to see for the first time. Another bucket list destination checked off my list. Glad you liked the views They were amazing. Take care.
"Spit in your neighbours Mouth" That is gross Steve 🤣 Great views of St Helens. I am trying to image her blowing her cap off! You would definitely not want one of those pine cones hittiń your head! 😱 11:00 great views 👍🏽 awesome lake. I was pleased you visited the centre after the walk and showed us what St Helen'f explosion looked like and a new lake is born. Great to you guys joining in with Jennifer Lupine on this walk. Pity you had to deal with the wind! Thank you for taking us along Steve! 👍🏽🙏🏽❤
Thanks for watching JoJo. You better bring plenty of water on this trail! LOL. We finally made it here and checked off a bucket list destination. Yay! We were amazed at the destruction. I remember when it happened, we were just youngsters in school back then. We were mesmerized by the displays in the visitors center. Glad you enjoyed them. It was an awesome pleasure to hike with Jennifer again. We meet again the next day to hike a trail in Mount Rainier area. So fun. Take care and have a great day.
Just a little smoke, nothing to be worried it's just a tiny super volcano 😆. Very cool trail! Nothing like a cold cole zero and spam with that view!Motm is awesome! Have a great day ❤
Thanks! Haha, what could go wrong? LOL. This was a great trail with awesome views of the area. The devastation was massive but the views were still amazing. Of course, the CZ made it better too. LOL. MOTM is great. I hope he exceeds his 1K goal. Have a great day.
How beautiful ❤️ I loved those views and seeing the steam. Also that's so cool that the trees are still visible in the lake. I love those berries too. They are yummy John is awesome 👍 awesome start to your Washington adventure. The observatory looked great
Thanks Nicole. It was great to finally check off this bucket list destination. Jennifer was a great host and it was a pleasure to hike with her again. I could not stop thinking about those berries. I think those berries delayed the hike like an hour with all the foraging! LOL. John is awesome. I wish him the best. Rainier with Jennifer the next day was awesome too! Glad you enjoyed our adventure. Take care.
Thank you. This was a great trail for 360 views of the area. It was awesome to finally see it and check it off the list. So amazing to see. I hope you make it here too. Have a great day.
This is again a very nice video of you! The landscape and the nature is so beautiful there. I really like the view. Keep up the good work and best regards 😀
Great to hike with you again Steve and Kristy! Great video 👌😄 What a nice sunny day, a little windy, but the clear skies were a bonus. Weren’t the views of Spirit Lake amazing… you got some nice close-ups of the logs and the helicopter. Glad we found some ripe black huckleberries and that it was just a little steam coming out of the mountain… not ash and a new eruption! I’m amazed and impressed by the blast zone and recovery. “Bring plenty of water!” 😄
Thanks Jennifer. Thanks again for your suggestion to do this hike and for being such a great host. The views were amazing. It was so awesome to see another bucket list destination! I can't stop thinking about those huckleberries! What sound does a bear make? LOL For sure on bringing enough water if I'm hiking with you. Haha. Glad you enjoyed the video. Have a great day.
Thanks max. Jennifer is awesome! We loved the company. She is an awesome host and friend. I'm glad we were able to check off this bucket list destination. It was amazing to see. We hiked again with Jennifer in Rainier. It was another amazing day. Take care and have a wonderful day.
Hi Steve, this was an awesome hike guys, The mountain Saint Helen’s area certainly looks incredible 😊 very cool you crossed this off your bucket list 😊
Thanks Stephen. Glad you enjoyed our visit here. It was awesome to finally see and check it off our bucket list. I was amazing at all the logs that were still on the lake from decades ago. Incredible. Thanks for watching. Have a wonderful day.
Very beautiful place, I love volcanoes, always impressed that nature manages to survive despite a difficult climate, the views were incredible, I imagine that drones are prohibited there, thanks for sharing and take care
Thanks! It was incredible to see the destruction and recovery of the area. Drones are not allowed in the National Parks and Monuments. I'm glad the views were wide open. It was beautiful to see the volcano and Spirit Lake. It was an awesome hike and meetup. So fun. Have a wonderful day.
Those views of the mountain and valleys were incredible! That crater dome seems to be growing. Slowly, but growing. Bucket list for sure. Those logs in the lake must create a very unique ecosystem for the aquatic life. Very interesting. Those Huckleberries are bear country for sure! Dolly Sods were covered with them! Watch out for Yogi. Awesome that you joined up with Jennifer Lupine. Very cool video and destination Steve, well done!
Thanks Paul. I wonder when it will blow again. The time lapse in the visitors center showed the dome growing significantly over the years. It was awesome to see Mount St Helens and to check it off my bucket list. So cool. Great meetup too. Jennifer is awesome. I'll make friends with Yogi because those berries were amazing. We will have to learn to coexist! LOL. Have a great day.
Awesome! We have patiently been awaiting these string of videos! Super cool! We too were all about those Huckleberries! We came back with several Huckleberry souvenirs! (The bottles of jam we brought back to share with our families actually resulted in our bags getting searched through airport security! Lol) Loved seeing a different part of the park that we didn't see - looks like you guys picked an awesome trail! We loved the openness to it all - it is just amazing to think what occurred, and to see the landscape rebuilding. Thanks for the visuals! Loved that view over the lake! Stunning! We miss WA - it was high on our favorite places we've been list!
Thank you very much. Glad you enjoyed the video and our visit here. This was an awesome trail with clear views of the volcano and the lake. It was awesome to meet up with Jennifer again. She is awesome! I could not stop thinking about those huckleberries. The hike took longer than usual due to all the foraging! LOL. I guess those TSA peeps like the huckleberries too! LOL. It was awesome to finally check this bucket list destination off our list. We will likely be back again someday. The area is very beautiful. Have a wonderful day.
This was completely astounding!! We remember the eruption - it was huge news here too!! Just cannot believe Spirit Lake!! Almost unbelievable what happened there. Great to follow this one Steve. - loved the hike and the amazing views and hey those berries looked delicious 😍😍 What a place!! Good to see you guys meeting up with Jen again too👍👍👍. Hope you’re having a good week We’re looking forward to the rest of the trip. 👍👍👍
Thank you Dave. It was amazing to finally see it and check off a bucket list item for me. So cool. The destruction was massive! I could not believe the trees were still floating on the lake. So amazing. Oh the berries, so delicious! It was fun meeting Jennifer again and she was a great host. Take care and have a great day.
Spirit Lake was incredible and your lunch spot was a perfect view. I remember my parents use to live on the Columbia River and you could eat berries until you were sick of them.
Thanks Michael. This place was amazing. So cool to see after all these years. I loved those berries! Glad you enjoyed the views. This was a great to trail to see the area with unobstructed views. Take care and have a great day.
You guys are killing it amazing adventure love the video last time I was there I was 12 45 years ago. Still a beautiful place. Stay safe my friend keep exploring
Thanks Mike. We have had an active year. We were so fortunate to travel as much as we did this year. I'll bet this place looked so much different when you were here. We were amazed at the aftermath and regrowth. Thanks for watching. Have a wonderful day.
Huckleberries are pretty amazing! I love trying the wild berries, but not too many as it's better as animal food (and to avoid adding to the piles of bear poop!). It was awesome seeing Mt. St. Helens from up there and all those floating logs. I agree with you, always carry lots of water to stay hydrated.
Thanks Donna. I love those huckleberries. There were plenty to share too. Some were even withering with over ripeness. I was much obliged to keep them from going to waste! LOL. Glad you enjoyed the views and the logs on the lake. It was incredible to see. Crazy to see even after decades since the eruption. Bring lots of water on this trail, especially if you are hiking with me. LOL. Thanks for watching. Have a wonderful day.
Wow! amazing view and mountain. I see you wearing your shorts while i'm freezing in my room hahahaha. Nice shots too. Great group of hikers once again. I've hiked only one volcano in my life and it was over 35 years ago... In Hawaii. Thanks for sharing these super views.
Thanks Alex. Shorts forever! You need one of them blankets. It was great meeting up with Jennifer again on a couple hikes. So much fun and memories made. The destruction was amazing to see. I don't know if I'd be brave enough to hike an active volcano like in Hawaii. You da man! Have a great day.
Great view of Mount St Helen when arriving at the viewpoint. 🤩If ever I hike with you Steve for sure I will bring enough water …just to make sure you don’t spit into my mouth 🤢…Lol🤣🤣🤣 You sure made me laugh! The views are stunning! Incredible to see all those wooden logs 🪵 floating on beautiful Spirit Lake 🤩…you were saying it was caused by the eruption…is that right ??? 😮The reflections on Coldwater Lake was so nice …quite amazing that this lake wasn’t existing before the eruption. Great meet up with Jennifer…you were in good hands with her for sure for this hike . Nice video Steve 👍😉 Serge H&S 👩❤️👨🌈🇨🇦
Thanks Serge. Jennifer is awesome. I look forward to many more adventures with her. She was a great guide for us and so fun to be with. You better bring water on a dry trail with me! Haha. We were amazed at the area and destruction. I guess the eruption caused a earthen dam in this area which created the lake. I think they later reinforced the dam to make it more permanent and safe too. I think that is what Jennifer said but who knows I'm pretty deaf and don't hear things that great. LOL. On our Rainier hike the next day, she had to tell me that the Elk were bugling. I could not hear them. LOL. Take care and have a great day.
@@Packsalot Yeah!I thinks also that she is a great person…well she’s the one that made me discover you folks 🤪 Must be an impressive area to visit . Ok so now I understand more about all those logs 🪵 thanks ! About your hearing I am the same as you and I even wear hearing aid’s since 12 years now …before I couldn’t hear the leaves in a tree when the wind was blowing on them . And also women voices were hard to hear also …but that was ok …Lol! 🤣🤣🤣 in the 80’s I used to work in a meat plant as a foreman and there was a lot of noise and we weren’t protected. It’s the work accident insurance that pays my hearing aids and for life with the battery and cleaning products. In some of my videos you may have seen them before ?? See you soon around Serge 😉👍
What an awesome hike that was, you got such great views of it! My mom says she saw ash here in FL when that volcano erupted!! It was a bad one thats for sure. Cant believe those were logs down there in Spirit lake. Looked like ice, lol. Yes, Coke zero, heck ya lol! :) Loved your bear impression! Your funny!! Those berries did look yum!!!
Thank you, Melissa. Finally we were able to visit here. I remember when it erupted decades ago. It is amazing to see the devastation and recover of the area. I was amazed at the logs still being in the lake after all these years. Ummmmmmmm.....those berries were delicious! LOL Jennifer was a great host. We had so much fun. Have a wonderful day.
Ok that is very cool. But I gotta say, I don't know if I want to be that close to Mount Saint Helens. And I KNOW I don't want to be that close to bear! But that view is absolutely gorgeous! Nothing like celebrating a checked off bucket list item with a coke zero. 8 miles? Yeah that's about 7 more than I can do these days! We did some hiking last weekend and my knees were not happy about it! Wow that's crazy about the bathroom situation. Would have been so scary to live near that when it blew. Pretty lake. Neat stop!
Thanks Felix. It was awesome to see. I was a bit curious about it still smoking though! I'm glad I finally got to see it. The view was pretty good from the observatory. I think that would be good for you. Plus they have benches there! LOL. Make sure it is open if you gotta go! I hope your knees recover. Have a great day.
Mount Saint Helen is awesome! Why would you hike toward a smoking volcano? lol .. I guess as long as it's not rumbling... I remember when it erupted very well. A couple times when the jet stream was right, we actually got a bit of ash on our vehicles here in East Tennessee! I just went and Googled Spirit Lake. It has a rich history indeed. It's incredible those logs are still floating in it after 40 years. It is beautiful. Thanks for this excellent adventure. This was a great way to cross it off your bucket list. Take care and stay safe!
Thanks Papaw. I don't know, something about a scorching death might me a concern! LOL. Glad it did not blow when we were there. We were so amazed at the area and the events that took place here. It was a global event. It was great to finally check this area off our bucket list of destinations to see. It is incredible to me that those logs are still there. Glad you liked the video. Have a wonderful day.
Thats the time of year to go! The change in the mountain is extreme! That blast was incredible. Great hike, though I dunno how you can eat spam. Or baby poop.
Thanks Dug. This place was deserted. We loved having the trail and area to ourselves. We were amazed at the destruction. Well, the Spamtillas are a pretty good snack on the trail and looks a little better than the baby poop! LOL. Thanks for watching. Have a great day.
I love that place! The first place I came to after I left Alaska summer of 2005 was Mt. Saint Helens. The green vest you see me hiking in is from that gift shop! The power it had was unbelievable! The PNW is a smorgasbord of berries! There’s spots near Mt Hood where it’s acres of Huckleberries. Hood Mushrooms too! Cool to see Jennifer! Nice lunch spot!
Thanks Christian. It is a must see place. We were happy to finally check it off our bucket list. It was great to meet up with Jennifer for the hike also. She was a great host and suggested the hike. The views and scene of the area was impressive. Glad you were able to visit here before. The berries sound amazing. I would be lost in the bushes for days! LOL. Have a great day.
Seen Jen's take on this and it was such an awesome place to hike. Holy cow indeed, yes that was an awesome view and that was some hike to get there and brave eating wild berries on the trail, not many facilities out there, I mean you can see the effect it had on the bears😂. Real nice place to stop off for lunch but fizzy drinks on top of wild berries, man you were taking a chance! Real surprise John is not already over 1K real good channel and a real good hike from Jennifer it was a real good hike, cheers Alan
Thanks Alan. We had a great time with Jennifer on this hike. She was a great host. We are so happy that we were able to check this destination off our bucket list. The views were fantastic and the berries, Heck yeah! Luckily no bear sign from me! LOL. I wish the best for John. I hope he achieves his sub goals. Take care and have a wonderful day.
Those views were outstanding! The long look to Mt. Adams over the lake was beautiful. How did Kristy's ''baby pooptilla'' taste,LOL. You should have brought one of the giant pine cones back home with you and used your pineapple core tool on it....LOL!!! Awesome hike from where I sat. VIVA Coke Zero!!
Thanks Jim. The views were spectacular to see. Jennifer was a great host too. The girls did pretty good at keeping me on the trail instead of foraging for those awesome berries! what sound does a bear make? LOL. Kristy really liked the pooptilla! So funny! Have a great day.
Kinda crazy seeing that smoke going up. It wasn't doing that last year, just saying. Those trees are like moving ice sheets as the wind blows them. It is amazing that it's been 40 years and the landscape hasn't recovered more. When I started teaching Mt. St. Helens was still a big subject. Great shout-out.
Thanks Stacy. It was awesome to see for the first time and to check off a bucket list destination. Those trees are something else. I can't believe they are still there after all these years. It is still pretty barren here too. Beautiful views though. John is awesome. I wish him the best. Take care and have a great day.
Thanks John. Jennifer is so awesome and it is a pleasure to be able to hike with her again. It was amazing to see the area, devastation, and regrowth. I wonder if it will blow its lid again someday. Take care and have a great day.
Great video and beautiful views, Steve. I can only imagine the power behind those eruptions. Crazy how scarred the landscape still is from something that happened that long ago.
Nice video Steve 👍😉

@@Packsalot Yeah!I thinks also that she is a great person…well she’s the one that made me discover you folks 🤪
Must be an impressive area to visit .
See you soon around
Serge 😉👍
@@SergeCousineau Yes. I have some aides too with a similar loss in hearing as you. I just don't wear my aides. The quiet is nice sometimes. LOL
@@Packsalot 😱🤣🤣🤣
Wow ini menarik fren, semangat
Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a nice day.
Hike a trail with Jennifer Lupine. How lucky you guy's are. Smokey volcano that's the real deal too dangerous for me.
Thanks John. Jennifer is so awesome and it is a pleasure to be able to hike with her again. It was amazing to see the area, devastation, and regrowth. I wonder if it will blow its lid again someday. Take care and have a great day.
Its on the road some more for you.
Thanks for watching. Kristy loves a road trip. There is so much to see on that bucket list. Have a great day.
I am surprised that no lumber company tried to re-claim those logs in the lake.
I was amazed they are still there after 4 decades. Crazy!
I wanted to do this hike
Thanks John. I hope you do someday. Take care.
What does a beer sound like?
A beer sound like "chug a lug" a bear sounds like "ummmmmmm!" LOL. I thought that would make you laugh. Haha. Have a great day.
@@Packsalot I spelled it wrong. Too funny.
