LsxMatt, how do you not have more than 28k subs? There's guys that all they do is detail vids that have more subs and you know so much more than those detail guys about cars. Great vid!

I was in 4th grade when the 1982 Trans Am came out. Pop up headlamps, 2nd gen Turbo Trans Am hood, and a satisfying rumble out of the exhaust...AND THEN Knight Rider came out....talk about fantasy car. 17 yrs later I bought a 1982 WS7 Trans Am...yes WS7, look it up, and dream realized. Great car, loved it.

Another thing to do/check is the vacuum line to the booster. There is a check valve in there that gets "gunked" up. Either replace the whole thing or cut back the hose a little on each end. Clean the check valve and also the grommet on the booster. This will give you a good seal and proper vacuum. Also helps with slightly mushy feel.

I like how your videos have a different feel every so often. After all the talking into the camera videos this was a cool change. Don't mind the other style, just digging the difference.

Nice to see the Trans Am Firebird getting some love. YES, I want to see the whole restoration! It already is a "restomod" with the new brake lines in back. Do improvements that time has given you (better parts) and the ones time has forced on you (unavailable parts). I want to know what you end up with.

I use to work at Midas did many !
I have the tool that spreads them apart works pretty good .. not much room to work in the camera makes it look like you have all kinds of room lol
Nice job brother! And I use the same bleeding technique it works great!
Bleeding brakes is like moving when you need someone nobody is around!haha!!

The best way to fix a stuck valve is to just start the car and smash the breaks really hard and fast and let up fast. Do that a few times and it will recenter again.

I know it was 3 years ago...won't matter much now, but you put the primary shoes on one side and the secondaries on the other. Hard to tell just watching the video but I'm pretty sure....

Thank you for this video Matt. I did my front and rear brakes, calipers and rear shoes and wheel cylinders. I had the same problem the rear brakes won’t stop the wheels 🛞. I bleed the heck out of the front and rear brakes and yet the rear won’t stop as much. It’s only the front brakes stop perfect. I also have a brake light indicator on too. I thought it was my 3rd middle brake light being out. All I have to do is tap the portioning valve or replace it? I did drive the car back and forth and hitting the brakes and trying to allow the rear brakes to adjust the right depth. My E-brake is not that affective. What do you suggest bro?

But I have a 88 gta and my rear brakes were changed 1 time 25 years ago and never again
And when I hit the brakes my car nose dived bad
And now the rear brakes are wearing norminlly and my car stops like brand new
