Nice. i have a very large indoor atrium where my 5 ferrets live. A couple of suggestions. 5inch PVC drain pipes....have the pipe cut into smaller lengths and buy a bunch of 4 inch Y and T connectors. Every so often mix it up and make a new shape. Mine love that. Get a few small whiffle balls ...the kind that are sold for cats and then every so often drop them in the water. Mine love fishing them out. Are mosquitos a problem there? Maybe some window screen on the outside.
Brilliant lots of enrichment for them lovely to see what they get up to just got to European polcat stunning they are hours of fun check out are channel the cat and ferret we have gennets living with are ferrets thanks for sharing yours the cat and ferret cheers thanks
This looks awesome! I can tell they have a lot of fun out there just by the short clips. Do you ever plan on changing the layout around every few months? I could imagine that after a while they might want a new layout to explore, but still using all the same materials so you could save on costs of course. Just moving tubes and elements that aren’t nailed down.
This is fantastic, thank you for sharing this! I would love to have something like this for my ferrets to utilize one day; we just need to take extra care that it is safe and sound because we do live in a very hot area. The clean, running water is an excellent idea and something I’d definitely like to incorporate for my outdoor reptiles as well. Thanks again for the tour, it helps a lot and looks awesome!
When you find out that his ferret enclosure is better than my whole house. Literally though, I would love to have the money and space to do this, but I have no room. I do oh have enough to let them move around the whole garden (ferret proofed) at the own free will
They often choose a corner and defecate mainly (!) there - sadly not always.😄 So you just would have to collect what piled up there. Some cat's toilet granulate would certainly help doung it.
They do not live outside full time. The enclosure was built so they could enjoy being outside for a few hours when the weather is appropriate. They were on a few topical medications in the past but it's better to take a more conservative approach and treat rather than use as a preventative. Just like bacteria can build a resistance to anti-biotics, parasites like the ear mites can build a resistance to the medications.
They are quite sensitive to harsh temperatures, temps between 65/75 degrees fahrenheit are ideal. I wouldn't recommend having them live outside full time, especially in the winter months.
For a healthy ferret, temperatures around -10C (14F) are absolutely fine. The species lived in cold climate for more than a thousand years. Admittedly, unhealthy ferrets seem to have become quite common in the last decades 😢
Gotta be careful with this, though. My father used to own ferrets, and he let them in an outside playpen. A stray cat had come around and gotten one of his ferrets sick (I don’t remember what with) and it ended up resulting in its death
I have found that the female ferrets have far better climbing skills than male ferrets. One of my female ferrets once climbed up my rose trellis and up onto the roof of my house, while the males, down below, were pea green with envy.
As someone who also lives in Ireland if their wild, probably obviously. If these are your pets then I wouldn't recommend keeping them out ALL year. It rains like hell here. Amd the frost in months like winter and spring could get them sick if their out all the time in the enclosure
@@finndrennan541 I mean sure?If they've gotten used to staying in the house obviously not but if its a well built shelter then I guess it would be fine if their basically new. It really depends where you live cause alot of places in Ireland, especially inland, that are colder and rainy than others
i live in ireland , i'd be enclined to say yes as long as you have a warm shed or kennel with plenty of bedding to lock them in durning the cold winter nights , i'm in kildare so not far from yourself
Your one of the few people iv seen who actually outs alot of love into their animals and giving them awesome enclosures good job keep it up bro 👏👏

Yes, I constantly change the layout to keep things interesting for them. Prior to this set-up it was arranged completely different.

Thank you!
About to build one for my 7 guys! Saved this video as an inspiration 🤗
I love your ferrets outdoor closure. It looks great. Thinking about building one myself for my ferret Cherokee
Nice set up
I can tell you care a lot about your ferrets. Please make more ferret videos!
Wow! This is a really perfect space for ferrets👍👍👍
I love your videos so much!! esp the ferret ones!! there isn't enough ferret content on youtube D:
Thank you! :)
Try @FerretTubeTV 24/7 stream of the enclosure.
Love it!! I wish I could do something like this for my little boy
I once had a home and I ferret-proofed my back yard with concrete channels 20 inches deep along the periphery, wooden fencing.
That is awesome
Totally sweet Outdoor Ferret Pent House.... Run Foot Loose, Ferret Babies... LOL....
Fairy land for ferrets :)
awesome job!
Awesome think mine would find an escape though
Looks like an excellent home
I desperately need to build something like this for my ferrets but I don’t know where to start!
Did you have a video how do you do the outdoor environment for your ferrets step by step please thanks
This is amazing!
Love your videos keep up ur content 😎

When can I bring my ferrets over to play?
Nice
It looks sooo good. How do you keep them from digging under the fencing?
I wish I could give mine this 🥺
The important thing is that you are providing for them to the best of your ability and giving them the attention they deserve.
How did you build it?
Getting ready to build something similar, but a little bigger. Any pointers?
Just make sure it's secure 360 degrees. They can dig and climb well and you want to prevent wild animals from getting in.
Hey do you remove your ferret when winter is coming? If not what you use to heat the cage?
Can I come and live in that too mate?
Hi, what kinda of plants do you use, and how do you know they’re ferret safe? Thanks! :)
Beautifull
Do you have problems with rodents trying to get in? What about a litterbox in there? Do u put one in there?
How do you handle their feces? I didn't see any litter boxes, do they just go anywhere or do they pick a spot and you scoop it out later?
They often choose a corner and defecate mainly (!) there - sadly not always.😄 So you just would have to collect what piled up there. Some cat's toilet granulate would certainly help doung it.
lOVE THIS :)
What do you do about fleas bugs ear mites from being outside?

What size wire did it take for this?
1/2" hardware cloth.
Hey man can they withstand cold weather 🥶

do you need to clean the enclosure or replace the soil?
Once in a while I'll add some more substrate but the water fountain is really the only thing that needs regular maintenance.
I have found that the female ferrets have far better climbing skills than male ferrets. One of my female ferrets once climbed up my rose trellis and up onto the roof of my house, while the males, down below, were pea green with envy.
Can ferrets live outside all year long in Ireland ?
