- The Institute of Material Sciences NTNU has produced an educational video about the production of silicon, which is an essential material in our society. Silicon is used in a wide array of appliances, from consumer electronics to cooking utensils.

We appreciate your feedback! We are aware that the background music is too loud. We can't undo this, but we've learned from the mistake 😉
What's name of background music please?
@@Valkyrie2T 100% a song from Philter
is metalurgical grade silicon is the same as high grade sillica alloy ( which have 75 - 85 % Fe Si ? )
I liked it.
@@mrsahamcharlielynch no, this silicon does not contain iron.
Great info but very hard to listen to with that music. Thank you though!
Agreed the music is trash
I agree. It's so frustrating when a video is ruined by obnoxious background music.
Was going to comment this. Almost unwatchable.
Is it possible to decrease the volume of the music please? Very good video but hard to focus on the talk.
Thank you.
just remove the music. there is no need or benefit to have any music in these videos.
Very informative video, music mixed wayyyy too high
may I use parts of this video for a presentation to my fellow coworkers?
Absolutely!
whats the need for music?
Good video but background music is too loud and very unnecessary.
1:38 and don't forget you need 1 small spider as well
Very informative video. Thanks for such content.
Cool, from simple a material like sand.
God bless.
May I take this information as article?
Great video thank you, feel free to cut the music please
That was excellent. Thank you.
Bibliography?
The entertaining world of important refund info
I really like the song. What is it called and where can I find it?
Great video!
Thanks
Thx alot , great video
Why is the music so loud? Can hardly hear you over the music! 😏
I dont understand aluminum and calcium reducing part ;/
hello
thank you so luch for outstanding efforts. is there anyway to communicate with you? i want to contact norwaian companies to produce pokysilicone and solar cells. thank you
How is silicon oil made
Thanks
so the silicone shortage doesnt mean there is no silicone
Silicon =/= semiconductors
How to make silicone rubber or oh polymer
This is alchemy!
I m wondering, why we don't add just single of carbon, i guess it can generate CO2 instead of CO which could be good for environment.
What is the song?
👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿 Excitingly hot temperatures like the computer learning roll or roll of wheels on concrete with silica and hot temperatures with black carbon coal and the black asphalt made with black oil
I left the video because the background music was annoying.
that was perfect
that spider is so dead... 1:36
annoying music aaaaaaaaaaaaah aaaaaaaaaah
its dad that people think that solar panels are "green"
Yea... you know it's the same for everything right? Ever seen a coal factory being built? Or an oil rig for that matter?
The benefit of solar is the "clean" production of massive amounts of energy, as opposed to having to use even more fossil fuels to keep the processes running.... if you must know
Pointless, distracting muzak makes this unviewable
Annoying background sounds remove it
Thanks
Music has destroyed the quality of the video
That music though sounds like the guy who's narrating doesn't like the music?? Unless they added the music in post? But then again that doesn't mean that he liked it lol
If you want to learn more about the industrial production site briefly shown at 7:41, you may find this UA-cam-video interesting: "The silicon metal plant (smelteverket) at Holla (Norway, July 2021)"
thanks
re-upload with NO MUSIC please. TY.
Do you need music when talking?
Informative!
Binance's CEO bares all about future developments in an exclusive interview
I'm wondering if it would be possible to get access to the references you have used for the video? Or if you have your own report about the production of silicon dioxide? Would help me out a lot!
I second this request, can you please list your sources
Well done. Excellent explanation. I learned so much. Found some silicon in a river port today.
Godd but was spoilt by the instrusive music that added nothing but made the message harder to hear
We're really sorry, but try watching the video with subtitles 😎
This video is exactly what I needed
But also what is the background music source
We don't know the name of the song, sorry. 🤔
Is green silicon by direct electrolysis possible?
0.7 volts through silica In molten magnesium chloride
music is good but distracting
Very good information. But this type of accompanying music is inappropriate.
and too fucking loud...infact there shouldn't be any. let the listener play their own music in the background.
Great and informative, but that music, is horrendous to say the least!
Thanks! And yes, we are aware of that 😁
Thank you for the clear and concise explanation.
We are quartz quarry owner and are interested in the technology of this production plant! Please let’s me know who I can contact for further information! Many thanks!
What % of SiO2 does your ore have?
@@oportillo02 I have ore with 80-90% silicon with aluminium (6-10%), iron(1.5-3%), titanium(.3-.6%), and other impurities. Please let me know for further information/collaboration.
@@dinesh45690 Thank you! I have a 69% SiO2 quarry and I was wondering if it is factible.
Fascinatingly complex
Sir,Hazards??

great video good detail to it🤯wouldn't happen to know to voltage they use for the arc furnace?
Pyrogenesis Canada and HPQ Silicon claim to most efficient solution to process the silicon.
MV for Silicon.
thnx for the great explaination!!
why that distracting music??
Very informative
very inromative video. I didn't realise coal was required for silicon production, how much is needed per tonne of silicon?
@Paul B there are many different recipes:
4. Raw materials for metallurgical-grade silicon
Raw materials for one ton (t) MG-Si (Kato, et. al) [37]
●Quartz 2.4 t
●Coal 550 kg
●Oil coke 200 kg
●Charcoal 600 kg
●Woodchip 300 kg
Raw materials for one ton (t) MG-Si (Globe) [3]
●Quartz 2.8 t
●Coal 1.4 t
●Woodchips 2.4 t
For 110,000 tpy (tons per year) MG-Si (Thorsil) [1]
●Quartz 310,000 tpy
●Coal, coke and anodes 195,000 tpy
●Wood 185,000 tpy
●Total 380,000 tpy

@@tomtroszakdo you have any email or whatsapp or telegram number? Im from indonesia and i wanna ask about silicone factory for indonesia. Thanks for you kind heart
Is water needed for the production of silicon?
Yes
@@QcK0101 which company design and install electric furnace
I really love the music you used, it is what makes the video special for me.
the perfect sarcasm lol
I would like to know the SiO2 concentration they have in the ore used 🤔
90%+
@@Metal_Master_YT Thank you!
@@oportillo02 I mean, they said quartz, which is basically pure silica crystals.
I know that its hard to get any good yields if the purity of the silica is low, so they must be using at least 90% silica, probably closer to 95% silica in their rocks.
@@Metal_Master_YT Oh, I was asking because I have silica ore (about 70% SiO2, other impurities: FeO, MN, and others); obviously I'm looking for a purchaser but i need to know how's the market, possible market target, etc.
@@oportillo02 well, if you powderize the silica, and dissolve the impurities in acid, you will be left with higher purity silica.
