True and also compared to other animes / mangas in general arc-v's characters are one of the best , the only problem is that the story is kinda mid and its a yugioh anime .
Arc-V's cast holds a special place in my heart, and while the story was full of ups and downs, I'm one of the (apparently very few) people who can actually forgive the ending. It's currently my favorite YGO series, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
Shun lost everything. His home, his best friend/little brother figure and his younger sister. Nothing will be alright for him. The only things that he has left right now are his duel disk and his anger at Leo Akaba. Never be able finding peace not even in death.
Duel Links paints quite the opposite picture, actually. He's made new friends and let go of most of his anger, and he's reunited with Yuto and has hope to see his sister again. His past still causes him pain, but he wants to look forward to the future now. I'm proud of him!

Since this is post-canon, there's no real reason for Shay to keep fighting. He does, of course, because it's the only thing he's known for a long time, but his theme emphasizes his tragedy far more. I appreciate that, because he really _is_ a very tragic character.

Yuto is separate from Yuya within Duel Links, so there's a chance that Shay will meet his best friend and sister again!
