Bags are never an investment. I wonder why so many people consider the resale value before they buy the luxurious goods. If you can't afford, or you're afraid of losing money, then you're not a true luxury user. Buy something you can afford and stop worrying about losing money.
I had the Cartier JUC white gold slim ring for 6 months - bought it from my SA without trying it on since I don't have a Cartier boutique near me. I didn't find it comfortable to wear so I sold it to Rebag for 50% of what I paid for it retail. I wanted a higher percentage but that was the best offer as Fashionphile was offering less than that. At the end of the day, I figured better to recoup some of my money than have it sit in a jewelry box unused. My husband wasn't happy that I lost money on it, but I told him sometimes you don't know if it works for you until you try it out for a while.
Such a thoughtful approach to decluttering! Letting go of luxury pieces can be tough, but it’s great to see you making space for items that truly bring joy and serve your current style. Sometimes, selling those beautiful bags opens up new opportunities and brings clarity to what we genuinely love. Thanks for sharing your journey with us - it’s inspiring and empowering!
Hi Amy!! I totally understand why you let the mini top handle go - I am the same way with pre-loved bags, I also don't know why!! I can also relate to letting some Chanel go now that I'm more into Hermes...I've done that this year too. Definitely nothing wrong with letting bags go to make room for new ones!! xoxo
Most make sense. The only one that made me audibly gasp out loud was the caviar mini top handle! Have never seen one quite like yours before and loved that piece! Onwards and upwards though :)
Initially I was shocked that you would sell that caviar top handle but when you say you have the rectangular and square, then it makes sense. I’m someone who wants a whole family of Chanel black bags of every size. I’m currently debating whether to sell a new craie B25! I just don’t think I will use it because of the delicate colour but the worry of being blacklisted and all that wasted time and pre spend… but better to sell now than later…the dilemma!
I try to avoid Custom jewelry. Rather save up to buy fine jewelry. Same as Hermes. I learn from so many people that they can’t get Birkin, Kelly and Constance easily so they settle for other bags. Always end up selling majority of these bags. That’s why I said no to my previous lovely Hermes SA every time she asked me if I wanted any other bags.
You gotta do what you gotta do! It’s always a good idea to declutter because we are ever evolving in our styles and tastes. Also it makes room for more things!!😂
You already have a nice Hermes collection. No point to get more in my opinion. If I were you, I would only consider swapping out Hermes bags if you fall out of love.
Omg can’t believe u sold so many items especially the🖤 & caviar top handle Chanel bags & LV Nano…. With the current prices now it’s gonna be harder to buy brand new bags fr the boutique 😢

It's good you sell the Gabrielle. Have seen many reviews saying the leather on that bag strap in particular isn't real leather and many bags peeled
Did you sell your bags yourself or send it for consignment?
Both but mostly by consignment :)

I am most surprised by the mini top handle in black. It seems so versatile.

every jacket looks too big - sits wider than your shoulders - too long on your arms - not made for asian frames
