She’s got extra regen energy after recently regenerating so she’s sort of invincible for a bit, a bit like how Tennant could use the spare energy to regrow his hand
That scene where the Doctor is crawling up the stairs begging River to help him is the finest piece of acting Matt Smith does on the show. I get goosebumps everytime.
Btw at 8:01 After regeneration there’s often excess regen energy, think The Christmas Invasion and The Eleventh Hour when the Doctor was kinda breathing it out, it’s how 10 grew his hand back after the sycorax chopped it off Regen energy can be used on others like river did at the end of this ep, but is sort of borrowed from the future, so river gave up her future incarnations to save the Doctor
In the episode The Time of Angels season 5 Amy said how come she can fly the tardis River to the Doctor: Well I had lessons from the very best it’s a shame you were busy that day. River was referring to this scene. I seem to be able to fly her. She showed me how, she taught me. While the Doctor was dying
I remember her saying she could fly the Tardis but didn’t remember what the actually words were and what episode they were from. Thanks for telling me :)
Glad you like it. It gets seriously mixed reviews but I think it's lots of fun. Also, I love it when the Doctor says "She will be amazing" and leaves the diary.
I know people aren't always massive fans of this one, but personally I just think it is so fun, which is strange considering the setting of the story 😂
This episode doesn’t get any less bonkers despite rewatching it countless times. One of my all time favs of the Matt Smith era. Glad you found it as enjoyable too.
Moffat's stories definitely do wake you up haha that's for sure! It's not something you can just put on in the background, you have to pay attention and it rewards you for doing so.
Beautiful episode, really adds yet more to River. If you remember back in tenant’s first episode, time lords are basically invisible 15h after regeneration due to ongoing energy (ie growing back a hand) and here not dying from being shot
Going back in time and killing Hitler is such a time travel cliché that I love the way this story just pushes him in the cupboard and forgets about him.
Also regarding Tales of the TARDIS, as far as I’m aware it’s actually an episode of classic who with new scenes added in iirc, so I don’t think you’ll need to have seen the eras to understand
Yes,, watched some this morning the stories they've potentially there are spoilers/easter eggs in the dialogue of the new bits and probably only the Mind Robber doesn't have dialogue relating to other stories/lore (haven't watched the 1980's 3 yet).
In the previous episode Amy said she named her daughter after her friend, so it's not like they give up who she is with the same name from the start, she could be just Amy's friend..
This is an episode that is usually disliked, but I’ve always had a lot of fun with it. They totally missed the opportunity to have Mels as a character before this episode. Imagine if she’d been around since the Eleventh Hour, showing up in stories like Amy’s Choice or during Amy and Rory’s wedding. Then the whole reveal would likely feel much less obvious, and it would have been more surprising so see her get shot. Other than that, I like this one. Hoping you enjoy the rest of the season :)
this isn't a future spoiler, Hamza, but Mells uttered a line when she started to regenerate, and most reviewers seem to miss it.. She said "I was a toddler, in the middle of New York".. 6 episodes earlier at the end of "Day of the Moon", we see a little girl dying and regenerating. So, she went from that little girl to Mels (somehow) and now to River :)
Doctor's priorities: "You never said I was hot??"😂 I have two theories of what River whispered in Doctor's ear..... but I can't tell them to you yet since I don’t know how far you are in the show and I don't want to spoil anything.... not even the smal things😊 It's not really a spoiler but it becomes a small one if you really think about it😅
Maybe he says another thing more, but pretty sure he says that he loves her. All along the episode she's pretty jealous about the feelings The Doctor seems to have for River Song. So her answer would be perfectly logical in this context. Doctor : "And tell her something from me Melody : Tell her what ? Doctor : I love her and (maybe your other theory) Melody : Well, I'm sure she knows." It fit perfectly.
I wasn’t wild about the episode. I felt like it was slightly “off” just like much of s6. But I love that you loved it. I think part of my issue is I am a parent and the idea that “Rory and Amy raised melody” being enough rubbed me the wrong way. If someone took my baby I want my baby back. I just felt like Amy and Rory ought to have struggled with this more. When River died (or “died) in the Library stories, she told Ten not to rewrite her history, “not one line”. So the doctor is honoring that. But dang, as a parent I just felt like Rory and Amy ought to at least have a short focused on coming to terms with it. Don’t get me wrong…I like all of this season. But I didn’t love some of these.
I feel like if this was RTD’s era we would have definitely have seen Mels at the very beginning of this era as just a completely insignificant side character. Who returns here for the big reveal that they’re really Melody Moffat just sort of shamelessly shoehorns in a best friend that’s never been mentioned before just for a quick surprise. Feels really cheap
@@SeanS102@SeanS102 Yeah, RTD didn't go in for multi-season story arcs. It's easy to drop a phrase like 'Bad Wolf' into episodes that haven't been filmed yet while you're writing the finale, but less easy to go back to S5 and introduce Mels a season and a half before the episode where she becomes important.
No spoilers or comments on future things please :)
She’s got extra regen energy after recently regenerating so she’s sort of invincible for a bit, a bit like how Tennant could use the spare energy to regrow his hand
Ah okay, thanks for telling me :)
In the early hours of regeneration, she has the ability to heal, like 10 did in the christmas invasion episode, when he regrew his hand
Thanks for telling me :)
That scene where the Doctor is crawling up the stairs begging River to help him is the finest piece of acting Matt Smith does on the show. I get goosebumps everytime.
Yeah that was a great moment :)

In the episode The Time of Angels season 5
Amy said how come she can fly the tardis

Yeah, great scene :)

True 😂 I thought it was really fun to watch :)
I'm a huge fan of it, one of my faves, but that's probably just due to how much I like River xD
Super cool episode, just in case you forgot, the TARDIS translates things into English which is why Hitler was speaking English.
Yeah I know but he was speaking English before the Tardis even arrived 😂
@@HamzaReactz my personal thoughts are that since we also travel with The Doctor in the Tardis in one way and that’s why we can hear it as English

This episode felt like an acid trip

100% mentioned in one of my other reactions, my eyes are just completely focused on what is going on with these episodes :)
Beautiful episode, really adds yet more to River. If you remember back in tenant’s first episode, time lords are basically invisible 15h after regeneration due to ongoing energy (ie growing back a hand) and here not dying from being shot
Yes, regenerations are limited. It was established in classic Who that a Time Lord can only regenerate a maximum of 12 times.
Ah okay. Thanks for telling me :)

I love how the River story began in the Library and has grown throughout the seasons. Love her.
Same, her story is the most interesting to me :)
I was soooo waiting for your reaction to this one 🔥
Thanks for watching :)

The TARDIS translation matrix translates everything to english, he was speaking German but the tardis translates it

Yeah that’s what I assumed when watching that scene. But thanks for telling me :)
There had to be one in the middle. The girl was not a toddler, and that was in 1969. Mel’s should be around Amy’s age, “born” in the 1990s.

@silenesong1704 the other theory is the one that I don't want to spoil.... this was the first one (and the one that I think is more probable)
Are you watching sarah jane series five? the secon d story is so good!
Yes, soon I will be :)

Yeah fair enough, I understand what you mean :)
Think invincibility frames after you get hit in mario games
Sorry I love this episode I know some people don't but it's one of my.
I watched this one on Holiday.
Not the greatest story

I felt that aswell, but I see it more as doing it this way cause then you would least expect it to end up being what it was :)
I totally agree with you 👍
