Thanks for being here early! This video takes you on a journey through the unique charm and stories of Niigata. I’d love to hear your thoughts and impressions, so feel free to share them in the comments below!
You too have fun 😊😊
16:22 I almost cried when I heard "Thank you for being born". I wish someone had appreciation for my existence on Earth. That's such a genuinely good affirmation for anyone to hear. Chi-chan is gonig to grow up well
The meaning behind each of the fireworks was heartwarming for me. Thanks for sharing this Ryotaro!
I love it how you turn toxic on us, the viewers, within the first minute, and not long after on Chris too :D
Always a joy!
Niigata being famous for its rice probably at least partly explains why sooooo many of the sake you can buy in the USA (at least where I live in Boston) is imported from Niigata Prefecture. That beef and onigiri looks like the best combination on Earth. Niigata city is definitely on the list of places for next time I can go to Japan (hopefully next year!). Amazing video as always! Too many cool things in it to fit into one comment (like Oya-san's hilarious description of the Yonshaku-Dama firework experience lmao). Can't wait for the next upload, man 😇
Always love to see some coverage of other prefectures, I love to see these kinds of content since individual prefectures and cities that get less attention are the exact things I want to learn about. Very informative, thank you!
I bought a property in Niigata city, people keep asking me “why Niigata?” Now I can show them this instead of just saying how much I like the rice!
Thanks for this great video Ryotaro. The firework festival looks beautiful and Oya-San looks like a fun and nice man. We will spend 6 nights in Niigata prefecture next March (1 in Niigata city, 3 on Sado island and 2 at ryuogon). I hope we will still have a bit of snow at ryuogon. And I have to research if we can enjoy 1 and 2 of your video.
"Don't break the bowl, don't break the bowl"......😁👍👍👍👍👍
Haha that last scene😆 Is that what you do with Chris probably throwing fried chicken and getting him to fight over fried chicken especially Famichiki!😂
Love your humor as always- and this is one of your best videos! I have a new goal - to see fireworks in Niigata. 😊 🎇
That was an excellent video about Niigata, honestly, it was so relaxing and peaceful to watch that now, I’m waiting for the next one about another prefecture !
During last summer, I went to Hakodate and Aomori prefectures to see Neputa matsuri, and I was surprised that there was not a lot of content about it, and also managed to travel by train through the inaka and it was so....nice. 😊
Love idea each firework has personal meaning.
Excellent episode mate. The look on your face when the big firework went off is priceless.
Visited Niigata City this summer when I was there for 長岡まつり大花火大会. Not your typical city like Tokyo nor Osaka, but it certainly had it charms. Would love to visit again if I have the chance. From Singapore with love!💌
Amazing video. Comedy is incredible. Please upload more!!!!
"Why are you talking about summer things to do when it's November?" "How about you mind your own business?" ROFL - Awesome episode. Can't wait for your next. Also the next chapter in your real/fake beef with Chris.
Thank you so much, hoping to visit Niigata on my trip to japan 🙏
was not expecting the amount of sass but ill chuck it up to spending way too much time with that seemingly affable but more often than not bitter fellow. love the episode
Ryataro your English swearing has improved so much well done mate x
When describing the 3 festivals the first group had white fireworks that reminded me of flowers opening up and blooming.
I agree on the Wagu commentary!!!! Thank you
Hi ryotaro I love niigata your videos are amazing ❤❤❤❤
I recommend Gifu Nagaragawa fireworks. Previously was done by two different newspaper companies but now done together. Some huge fireworks and a great finale. Area around the river is also awesome for temples shrines and museums
First time I have watched one of your videos. You got yourself a new subscriber. Cant wait to explore your channel.
ドイツのありがとうございました
Great video
17:30 That's what she said!
Sorry, couldn't resist. Great video as always!
I miss Niigata , so I am going there next week 😊
0:45 He's not kidding guys. Let him do what he wants. You don't know what he's capable of if you don't.
I love this, saving the video for when I plan my next trip! Also 1) I keep confusing Niigata with Nagano - hopefully I'll stop doing that now; 2) I've had koi sashimi and didn't think it was that tasty. Tastes like water! Love be salted grilled ayu though 🤤
I am always excited when someone posts a vlog on Niigata, that is where my ojiisan was born. I never met him as he passed away many years before I was born. It’s the first place I want to visit if I ever go to Japan.
Thank you Ryotaro, this was wonderful. 😊
Love these videos, so factual and relaxing, bit funny too
I only stayed one night in Niigata, as a jumpoff point to Sado Island. Went to the aquarium because i had some time before hotel check-in. Pretty good in terms of exhibits, definitely another place worth a visit.
Loving these informational videos!
The World needs more Tea Ceremony 🙏
Thanks for the informative video! Definitely will check this out next time I go to Japan!
So happy to see another upload!
Great job ryotoro
Another gripping episode of Hokutō no Men, where Ryotaro manages to evade a shirt-ripping Chris who would have shouted ATATATATA and defeated our character.
2:27 : Also, Ryotaro was definitely alive when this cup was made.
Really want to go to japan
Having to shovel show in January? That's just a Tuesday for us Canadians. I'd probably feel right at home in Niigata.... or Aomori..... or Hokkaido...... Especially Hokkaido.
The area of Niigata prefecture around Tokamachi is the snowiest inhabited place on the planet. I moved top the area from a Nordic country, so I thought I'd be fine, but getting over a metre of snow in a single night is something you have to experience to really appreciate how crazy the snow is here.
Ryotaro: She's kind of slow.
40 Year Old Carp: HOW DARE YOU! -splash-
I had a weird dream that I was in Niigata once. There were hills I kept having to walk up, with lots of forest and greenery, and I kept having to walk everywhere. I don't know if any of that reflects in the real thing, but it was... odd.
Dear diary
great video.
On my next Trip I was fully planning to stay in one of the west coast cities. And it’s between Akita, Niigata and Toyama. Looking towards my mighty Russia
Somehow this video feels like a Stockholm Syndrome with Ryotaros remarks but me enjoying it
That’s well good innit!! 😂
I really enjoyed this video, young man. (Yes, you're still young. I have 20 years on you.)
Ryotato-sama returns to redeem the grim state of UA-camrs in Japan!
That reminds me of something i wonder about. How common is it for japanese people to use the -sama honorific in everyday life?
I was just thinking a few days ago exactly about that, how lame Japan-based content creators have become over the last few years, generally speaking lol. Ryotaro definitely saved the day with this one
❤❤❤❤
Niigata, please.
12:16 real life "Komodo-3000"!
huge final rocket for sure
I would only have one thing on my to-do list: locate Ryotaro
Oya-san and you look like ye could become good mates, He's fun
POG
Ok. I am 33 seconds in. And I would just like to say. That if I don’t see Risotorro trying to flog me a pair of trousers made from former Sumo mawashis or a backpack made from Niagata palm fronds rolled on the knee of Japanese maidens at the end of the video I am going to be mighty displeased. However, while writing this, I realise I have Day 6 of the November Sumo Basho to catch up on. So I shall come back later!
Ok. So far he has banged on about tea cups and carp. Maybe he is going to try and flog me a tea set. Or some fish and chips. I’m not sure yet. But it is sure to involve and uncomfortable looking man agreeing to give a discount he doesn’t want to for us viewers. Mmmmh! Guilty discounts!
Ah. Now he is stealing Natsuki’s catch phrases. So lazy.
Yay! Making explosions now! Maybe we get a discount on fireworks!
The firework guy with his Bauyiiiiiiiiiing explosion noise is awesome!! His little hair bouncing around 😅😅😅 Kawaiiiii!
2 hours of fireworks! O. S. S. U. M. !!!
niigata was a wonderful city and I'm glad I visited but the SPIDERS EVERYWHERE was a problem. Huge ones, tiny ones, sometimes 5 or 6 different ones all living together in a single corner.... Great city, skip the spiders.
I have loved the fireworks festivals! John Staub's original Only in JAPAN AND HIS NEW CHANNEL>>>He did some amazing documentary on the Firework Festivals and the crafting of them. Thank you for reminding me for an other reason to travel to the not huge cities and focus on the more exciting and beautiful places!
Those Koi seem quite small compared to other places like Lister fishery in the UK
Even carp don't take any guff from Ryotaro.
Ryotaro, I follow your channel and I lived around kichojouji for 6 years. Now going back to Japan after many years. My husband is italian and I want to show him around. Im thinking tokyo, kyoto, then shikoku. I love shikoku and shrines. In tokyo, I want to stay whete there is great shopping but also water like Minato or kawasaki. What do you think? can I contact you? I'll go in mid april
Niigata is famous for being the hometown of Rumiko Takahashi (manga-ka).
Ryotaro no creo que pueda confiar en tu paladar, en el 9:56 puedo ver claramente no 1 sino 6 copas de alcohol, hahahaha
So do koi lose color and turn grey as they age? Noticed 40 yr old koi was grey. But do love patterns of orange & white in koi.
Koi do tend to change colours throughout their lives but some koi are gray from the start
Yeah i already see myself terrorizing Ryotaros acquaintances again
-Can she recognize you?
-No
At least he keeps it real haha, it'd be easy to tell a lie to make himself look better.
OK hear me out. Ryotaro-verse (Ryotaro and his sidekicks Chris, Sharla, and Natsuki and two more), team up with Sorted Food's Ebbers, Jamie, Kush, Mike, James, and Barry to explore Japanese food in one ep and teach the guys to cook british food in another ep.
Are you Japanese?
Only 20 mins? Come on…
"Lesser known UA-camrs" lol ...
Munching beef
Very informative. Ryotaro, being a dick is not in your nature, so when you try to be, it sounds very un-harmonious. For the English on the other hand, it is quite natural and therefore harmonious with their nature, making it entertaining to watch. As the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius said, "He who lives in harmony with himself lives in harmony with the universe ." You are a teddy bear, so please just be yourself...
Ryotaro - Japans best youtuber :D Alot better than www.youtube.com/@AbroadinJapan :D Love both you guys
