I’m an engineer with the Army and our combat pants we wear in Afghanistan have built in knee pads for framing which is amazing for when we frame. I’ll have to check out the thrive for back home!
I could use heavy duty pocket liners. Otherwise, I just buy on the cheap side and replace. I went through a period where I tried more expensive pants and found that a decent pair of good fitting jeans are as good as anything .
Ya so have we in the US but they have never been to popular I had a set in the early 2000s and didn't like them much except for in crawl spaces. They aren't fashionable but you really can't beat a set of good bibs in my opinion.
They have been available off and on here probably since the 90's also just never been very popular I don't like them will stick with the old timers stuff. I agree with the other guys I like bibs also but was a born and bred farm boy.
Galls is a company that specializes in outfitting police, fire and EMS personnel. It carries a variety of brands but their Galls brand of pants is very affordable ($25 to $50) and has many of the features mentioned in this video. 👍✌
Mountain Hardwear Chockstone pant. Light, stretchy, integrated nylon belt, zipper pockets. These climbing pants are designed with harnesses in mind (tool belt), so pockets are low. All year i wear these in Mich, just merino base in winter.
Hey wait a minute. Has this become an infomercial channel? It’s as if you lured me in with cool how to building stuff and now it just how to sell things. Keep a good ratio or it will self-destruct. 75% good info 25% buy this thing.
Haha!! I appreciate the comment brother… The channel will continue to be about building cool stuff :-). If I’ve got one about a product that I like it will probably just be an extra video not to take away from away from the usual Posts.
Erik, no problem with endorsements... you obviously need to pay the bills, but just be transparent and fully disclose the ad. You’ve got a great rep and have great content. You don’t want to mess that up with something like this. You Tube audiences are super critical about this stuff. Keep up the great work.
Brother, I’m all about a good pair of work pants and willing to pay the premium price. That being said, these pants seem to be on the right track but still missing some key features imo. Good job on the built in knee protection but I wish they put more thought into the pockets. I think built in pouch pockets would be a great improvement. I would also like to see the existing pockets to have more material to accommodate larger hands or even ease of access without having to remove your gloves. Check out Caterpillars trademark trousers. Been wearing these for 2 years now and haven’t disappointed and they’re only $59.
Unless I hit the lottery they can keep them. Work boots is the only expensive work apparel I buy. They might be really good but 1.5 into self employment is WAY OUT of my wallet.
Hey guys...Thx! Been carhart guy long time. Was looking at carharts new stretch double fronts. Looked at you pant web site ....worth a gamble especially if I can ditch the knee pad sweat and chaff! Keep the vids coming😊

Not so sure about these Thrive pants. first pair I bought were the jean ones and they were great. But wore out in the first year. The second pair were the duck cloth ones and seemed like they woukld last longer, wrong in less than a year they torn above the knee pads. I really liked the concept and it is awesome to have the knee pads there all the time, but these pants for the money just dont seem to last long enough in my opinion. I need a new pair and have held off buying them because they just need to last longer, they are not inexpensive. My only other comment is they seem to run small on there sizing.
Im gonna stick with carhartt.. cause i stand 6'8" and none of these other companies like thrive make pants anything close that fits for me.. carhartt does...
For a while they were sold here as Skillers workwear. I started wearing them after being given a Snickers work vest by my boss who was from Sweden. He had brought a pair of work pants back for me too, but he had guessed wrong on the size and had to find someone even skinnier to give them to.
Back in the 70s, my dad said the issue with pants back then was farts...he said the guys framing would always force out farts, and building in Chicago, alot ate White Castles everyday, he said alot of guys shit their pants everyday, so he came up with the idea of a bag inside the pants to collect the days farts....geez....yuck
had 2 pair of those duluth fire hose flex pants. one pair, the spandex completely relaxed and were huge all the time. the other pair shrunk up and fit like skinny jeans. every type i tried from duluth ripped in the "crouch gusset" because there is too much room and kneeling down put too much stress on them. the regular crotch pants do pinch, but last longer due to closer fit, for me anyways. i buy cheaper $40 carhartt carpenter pants made out of canvas for lightweight. original carhartt duck pants are too damn thick and heavy. seems like they all have about the same lifespan no matter the cost.
Scott D Put a small keyring on any pants zipper, when you button the waist have the button go through the middle of the keyring. Zipper will stay put. "No more Buick out of the garage gentlemen." :)
I checked out their website and they have no satisfaction guarantee. If its worn or washed it can't be returned. That's crappy! For $70 work pants they should offer a satisfaction guarantee. Satisfaction guarantee you love them or money back
I dig the videos you guys put out but making what is essentially an informercial ... C'mon. It's one thing to put sponsor ads in an actual video but a separate video that is solely an ad....... That's a fast track to the unsubscribe button. I respect that you guys want to make money (on top of your construction business) but stuff like this makes me question anytime you recommend a specific product.

l wore Levis and Wrangler for years....recently , I bought the Ariat Rebar M5 strait leg jeans....best Ive ever worn!

We've had pants with integrated pockets for knee-pads probably since the 90's over here in Europe :)

Michael Schofield man, overalls are the shit, they’remore attractive than your butt hanging out that’s for sure

I like wrangler pants from walmart
The Excellent Laborer wrangler flex fit $20 each, can't go wrong
JF you really can’t! With Black Friday. I get mine for only $10. Stock up every year.
The Excellent Laborer I'm gonna have to look into that
I prefer anything i can find at the thrift store or Gabe's!
@@dentside78 yeah I tend to be a blabbermouth at times

Stretchy Pants!!! Honey I know what I want for my birthday!!!
I work and I have huge thighs. I was ecstatic when they came out with the baggy pants because they wouldn't choke my thighs and other bodily parts
So truewerk came out on top?

I am a Plumber. They are TOUGH. I use the 1 year "No Hassle" return policy. And on those Thrive pants there are no side pockets.
Congratulations 100 k subscribers
In Germany I came across something like this and love them. Great!
haha,.... the guy with shoe lace to repair his flies. Must be a relation of mine.
Wow I will be looking into those now thank you
the 11$ walmart pants is unbeatable.
I like the ariot pants
I can’t give up my carhartt bo7’s with built in knee pads and suspenders at $40 but those look like quality work wear

I had 4 pairs, blew out the crotch in all of them. If that had lasted I would have loved them.
Thrive says USA made fabric which is awesome but are they made in the USA ? Not a deal breaker but it would be great if they were ...
I love the stylish intros
Its great that the material is made in the u.s. Where are they assembled?
Like a Stanley tape measure - "Assembled in U.S.A. with global parts." Great question. Where ate they made?
@@markrepovich2148 i guess if we have to ask we already know the answer.. somewhere else.
Why no rim joist? I've never built like that on the west coast
$80 US is like a million dollars Canadian eh!
How long does a pair last you?

the tight cut seems an issue? The loose fit ones don't walk down my butt with a hammer in the loop, the tight ones seem to. No issues with that?

Perhaps a balanced diet would help too!

Just get a big sponges and rubber bands for your workers! LOL!
You might want to correct the spelling of the on screen text @ 1:16
You referring to the “milled” in USA, or the “mondern” fit? Think they are trolling for comments??
I just wear ariat, I’m young so I don’t mind the pressure on the knees yet 😬
If you wear Ariat jeans to work you must not work too hard ariat jeans are stupid expensive
Would be more ideal to remove as much pressure from the joints so you don't end up with joint problems in the future bro!
How do these do in the heat?
do you guys have a discount code?
Nice but $80 for a pair of pants is steep.
not really. just another tool to make the job easier. plus another writeoff

costco pants for 25$
Do the built in pads makes legs sweat when it’s warm?
They are pretty thick pants so that they last a long time I guess. I don’t really wear them in the summer
