I have been a huge fan of Richard Blade since first seeing him on MV3. Living in the Portland, OR. area, we didn’t get much radio airplay on many new wave, goth bands and so after watching episodes, I had to have my Mom take me to the local record store to pick up the albums and cassette tapes. When he did a promo back in the late 80’s/early 90’s for Oglio Records, I actually called to get marketing materials for the record store I was working at and he actually called me back that same day and within a week, I had not only marketing materials, but an autographed sampler CD that I had framed years later. Thank you Richard Blade.
80's OC kid here. The almighty Richard blade! Kroq, jed the fish, sluggo, freddy snakeskin, dusty street (rip!), Tami Heidi, Swedish egil, Rodney, April, scott Mason, and the great Poooorman!! Who else did I leave out?
I'm with Richard... Duran Duran and Depeche Mode have been in my Top 5 for 30-40 years now (I even have tattoos dedicated to each one) - along with Muse, Alice in Chains and Faith No More. Great interview!
I share the same sentiment as some on these comments. I didn't know him prior to this podcast. His entire story from start to finish of the proposal and his nearly taking his life, but being stopped by his acknowledgment of leaving his howling pup behind brought me to tears. What a sad story, but what an amazing podcast episode. Thank you Michael for bringing him on as a guest.
I don’t know Richard but what an incredibly interesting man. I loved this interview and could listen to his stories for hours, thank you for bringing him onto the podcast🤩💖
This was such a pleasant surprise! Been listening to Richard since he debuted on KROQ and MV3 (and now on SiriusXM First Wave). I live in L.A., and everyone I've ever heard who has interacted with Richard Blade, has said that he is the nicest, most genuine person. [Edit: Wow, "She's Leaving Home" is my favorite Beatles song too!]
Oh wow, Richard Blade! I moved to L.A. in the early '80s and KROQ was my favorite station. He always seemed like the "serious one" and the other DJs were goofballs. Him and Terri, omigod, what a tragedy. It broke my heart to hear that story.
I loved this episode! Not only do I listen to Richard Blade on First Wave everyday, but I’ve enjoyed his book as well. Michael, I love your musical knowledge as well. This is one of my top episodes of yours. Next time you get Richard on, I would love to know how he decided to come back to radio and Sirius XM! 😊
I just finished this episode and it was delightful. Richard definitely opened up and had so many great stories. I definitely agree that a part 2 is needed. I loved the flow of this interview. Best podcast ever! Happy Halloween!
Love this! (Love all the episodes) Love Richard Blade because I love the 80's. His honesty was great. Was honored to see you and him and get pics with you both last November at a music con! I also enjoy the reading of the Patrons at the end too! (Hoping to become one soon) #1 favorite podcast... keep up the good work! 😊

He's so cool we used to go watch him play at Yankee Doodles in encino, always invited us to the table to chill and hang out
This was such a treat! Grew up listening to Richard Blade on KROQ. Can't wait to see the biopic of him and Terri !

I didn’t even know who this is and I was so happy to hear this fun interview! What a great guy ❤
used to listen to Richard on KROQ and when he hosted music video shows. He looks great!
He a,ways reminded me of Paul Hogan. He was good in the fun Spellcaster movie. And of course, Girls Just Want To Have Fun.
Never heard of this guy before but he is sooo interesting! Excellent interview 👍👍
Can’t wait to listen/watch this one!! Thank you Michael ❤️ Happy Tuesday 💙 Happy Halloween 🎃
Any time Mike Ness is randomly mentioned in an episode is good with me.
Happy Halloween 🎃 Michael 🎉🤘 My part of Tuesday 💙
Omg, this is the saddest story I have heard on a podcast. So sad. Feel for him despite his past.
Awesome stream man 😎
Loving every minute! Between his amazing stories and accent, I am in heaven! Thanks for being the best part of my day 😊❤️🙏.
Never heard if him, but very interesting interview.

Is it just me, or does Ryan ALWAYS look bored during the interviews? Checking phone, twirling his pen...
