Orange Piccolo is the Tim Duncan of Dokkan battle. He came on the scene dominant and was the best in the game for a period of time, he’s been consistently good for a long ass time, and people think that he’s boring. It’s a perfect comparison.

OP still has the abilities to consistently be great and IMO is top 10. Currently he can tank 9th anni bosses supers with his intro and tanks normals post-intro, while having his great active skill to protect him and the rest of the team.
Most of the community doesn't like OP because his biggest asset, his giant form, takes 2-3 minutes of him doing low damage. I bet if instead of his giant form, OP had an active skill ghost usher of about 10 mil damage, the community would like him a lot more, when its the same thing LMAO.
People don't like spending extra time of him doing low damage to guarantee them winning the run, and instead they rather use a damage dealing unit (Evoken) due to their higher damage to end their runs quicker at a higher risk.

Orange piccolo was pretty useless in the winning run, his giant form served zero purpose because Truth already had his revive/traget up ( and transformed UI/beast don't need to be protected ).
That's my issue with OP, he's pretty useless in the super Hero team because all the units are so good and already have multiple team protector mecanics, whereas in weaker team his lack of damage Can definitly be an issue.
What is actually crazy to me is during these videos we've never seen Orange Piccolo at his absolute peak (probably top 6 potential, around EZA ssbe or UI). He never activates his full passive (full heal and 50% dr). When fully built up, post super, he's around 1M def +50% dr and he can get up to around 1,5M def + 50% dr with an additional. Even without his orange form he can still be great on his own.

@@Yntag You can see the characters he is running right? If he ever needed it it would have procced, but the characters on his team are all busted af and don't take dmg. Obviously the shitty conditional dr will not activate if you take fuck all dmg. Yeah he can attempt to slot 1 op on turn 1 to take enough dmg to do it, but not only are you screwing up your own rotations, you also risk immediately dyeing depending on how hard the boss hits.
And nowadays with new content you simply don't take enough dmg to proc it in the later turns anyway. You eat a super when you're not supposed to on a character you're not supposed to and you just straight up die there and then. There is no "i'm using x to tank y and get to low health to proc z's dr" in this type of content. You will die it if you attempt to do that shit faster than you can blink because x taking dmg with or without enough dr is the same as the difference between tanking double digits and taking 1mil damage.

Honestly this piccolo is still top lrs 10 if not he's just outside top 10 lrs because he's still very much viable in these fights because he does have that back pocket ability where he heals the team and gains more damage reduction but like i said it's a back pocket ability that could make difference in a fight
His major weakness is gonna be turn 1 against fights with really strong normals and powerful supers but has to be the first 2 attacks on piccolo in order to potentially kill him because guard with his starting damage reduction

My problem with Orange Piccolo is that I feel like most of the time you're using his Giant Form its to protect himself unlike Beast & Cell Max
Hes still very good but hes not currently a game changer because you have to run him on a specific team build which is a team where he never is forced in slot 1, a team that already has high Dmg output & a team that overflows with Ki which is a team that he doesn't actually contribute anything bedsides the ability to tank Supers after supering

Do you not realize what you just typed? Units are bad because they ARE the lose condition. Thats what makes a unit bad.
Being able to cancel boss mechanics and get free damage is outrageous. And it can also be used as a team protector mechanic. He used it to protect MUI who literally couldn’t dodge. Now yeah piccolo was prolly gonna die as well but he didn’t cuz his giant form. He is a game changer and really impacted the fight heavily.
@@eekumbookum2090 Yes it is but on Super Hero a team that is full of these mechanics it loses it's value because unlike all the other Team protectors Piccolo forces you to use it for him, now in this scenario yes he saved Ui but Ui was never in danger because he had the revive up if anything it would have Theoretically been better to die.

Idk if Truth or others would agree with this but (my opinion isnt the best scince i started y3-y8 and came back 3 months ago) boss fights now are not difficult anymore. i think this because characters are releasing too powerful to the point where dokkan isnt properly balancing it out with boss fights which is evident in truth 4 turning gogeta, and the state of dokkan in y7 where broly redzone was the hardest fight was alot better even though alot of units were quickly aged, because the hardest boss fight still took strategy even with rainbowed anni units and a 200 percent lead, this could be seen as bad also though because of how it aged previous units fast

funny how people hate on OP lasting this long when teq ulthan had a very similar fate and everyone loved him (for the most part). i think most people (myself included) are just tired of OP being abused because he saps all the difficulty/fun from the game when you use his active. theres a very fine line between a unit being too good and *too* good. compare the love between beast and OP, very similar results and effects, but OP just feels more brain dead to me(perhaps bias against giant form not being fun). i stopped using OP because he took all the fun/difficult *for me* away from the game. i dont want to discredit OP, hes very good obviously, but hes boring to use and ive been waiting for other, more fun units, to come out to replace him
Beast and Orange Piccolo are very similar, the difference is that Beasts team protector ability is less interesting than Piccolo's, so if you wanna talk about boring Beast is more boring. Also hell no, a good amount of people hate teq Gohan to this day.
