I got invited by L8NG for a few games, on this occasion I played Bossk blue against Sabine green, check out the game here: ua-cam.com/users/live9uc7ERWtcxw?si=XKUrvlFFVGdhkaur
I have a tournament next Saturday, and really appreciate you going over this deck. This seems like it will popular so knowing the ins and outs are key. Thank you for another awesome video and of course for your great analysis
Nice modifications Thorrk - I really like the Bazine/Spark change and agree about the Han2/Blue deck being 50/50. It does become harder post sideboard when they add in their upgrade hate.
I won a 32 player store showdown with Boba Yellow yesterday. This was the deck I had to beat in the finals. Won 2-1 with bodi rooks sniping make an opening or entrenched to clear a path for lurking tie phantoms and holding firespray/new adventure for after the super laser blast. Very hard deck to beat!
@@Darth_245 it does but atm that's not the deck we are afraid of, if you want to improve the han2 blue MU it's good. But I would rather focus my effort on beating boba
I found main deck tech to be very good. I got to play around hand discard vs Boba and another control list by hiding both restock and tech in the resource.
I built a very similar deck - but I've been running 1 Tech and it has been huge. I resource him and then wait for a turn in which my opponent takes the initiative early - and then bring it out and recover something I protected in my resource line to avoid having it discarded. I also ran 1 Bounty Hunter Crew in the sideboard to get a way to recover a discarded event (like Restock or Vigilance) late game. I also had some odd limited success with 3 Stolen Landspeeder in my sideboard for Han Yellow to give me a turn 3 answer to DJ. I was seeing a lot of 5 cost units at the time which made it viable as a sideboard versus non-control / non-aggro. I've since dropped it as the meta changed (and the people became more savvy to being able to give the Stolen Landspeeder a Bossk bump once it is recovered) - but I am keeping it in mind.
The value in the client in villain blue isn't its ability to give bounties out. Its the fact that hes a 3R 2/5 shielded on turn 2 that trades up and can heal you in a pinch. The ability is just a bonus.
I generally agree, however I didn't find the 2/5 shield body good enough to be worth including in most of my black/blue decks. In Bossk control however, the bounty ability is extremely relevant and important.
All those cards should be in your main deck From the side I would add a couple of out of aspect bodhi rook (can still be played for 3 from U-wing) and some changes of hearth. From my experience that's enough the main deck is already very strong
I played bossk blue since the begginng of the expansion and now everyone knows it and it can’t be anymore a “surprise pick” for the tournaments i was preparing for in october 😢
Very risky to wait 3/4 months before revealing a deck. Very low odd for this deck to remain hidden for that long. But good intuition to find this deck that early ;)
Ok maybe I misunderstood. I thought you said it was UNfavoured against boba blue hard control -because they have all the cardhate and bodyhunter crew. But against boba yellow aggro you consider it unfavoured also? Why is that?
@@arashsanari sorry I got confused the deck is favored against boba yellow (a lot less so after sideboard though) but unfavored against boba blue, sorry for the confusion.
I don't get how this is good against Palp Green, when all of them: - Are running 2 main deck Relentless; - Palp return, and Command returning Relentless. - Devastators killing the krayt on spot too; - Ramping and getting to the big threats super fast.
Palp decks can definitely adapts their build to beat hard control but at the expense of their aggro MU. However the palp deck I have seen and made result in tournament don't play 2 relentless main deck with palp return. The problem with palp is that it's a very slow deck that can be kept in check by single target removal and superlaser blast without too much issue. after sideboard things get a lot worst for control but if you lost game 1 and don't have time to finish game 2 your sideboard doesn't matter.
@@davidvelazquez677 If you are struggling against hard control with old han green, either you are playing a weird version of the deck or you play the Match up wrong. Old han had an excellent MU against hard control even in set 1, notably because spark of rebellion, U-wing, home one and falcon. Obvioulsy it's even better now with tech/dj combo.
This list is inspired off George Hudson’s Vader Blue list with nearly this exact list but adding in Bossk and the bounties. You can look up the list from the Orlando 5K in Florida earlier this year. Basically the same list as George Hudson / Gui Cohen which they both sort of worked on their own version of Vader blue
Time management definitely becomes a factor with a deck like this, but this has never prevented a competent pilot to win tournaments even with control decks even slower than this one (iden blue for example). This bossk deck can close game fairly quickly once in control notably with Krayt Dragon.
Ill say it a million times. Blue villainy that runs primarily removal, vigilance to mill, and avengers/snokes to win are the most boring to play against

Was always a believer that Bossk would see a rise. Gotta try out this deck!

Yeah, that deck is crazy and can be super hard to win against. Nice to see a meta change tho. I will personally try a more aggro version in green!

that's what force choke is for! playing tech seems like an ineteresting options in grindy MU.
Literally won my showdown yesterday with this deck!
We are in sync ! Congratz!
Great video, absolutely miserable deck though. Thanks for the counters, hopefully hard control stays a step below tier 1.
@16:19 another thing to mention about The Client + Bossk ping is Shield spot removal
Nice especiaaly the in and out please do this for futur video
I could not do it in earlier videos because the meta was not established enough but I did for set 1 deck ;)

Unless you play online there are unfortunately not many ways to show case play ability and play knowledge for now. So don’t feel bad :).
Same man in my local area. I did decide to take it out of "hiding" this week and went 2-1 losing to Boba green.
This has been said about every deck by each person at my locals since release.
Which deck do you prefer for hard control? Boba blue or boosk blue?
bossk blue is better vs aggro, boba blue is better vs other hard control
Nothing new, we faced the same during set 1 with Vader blu. Will need to put back my relentless in main 😂
pretty much, the meta repeat itself
Goddammit, I just started playing blue/green villain. I guess I'm going to try to ramp fast, avoid units, and maybe put in crumb?
depends on the deck
Question .: if you defeat a upgrade such as death mark , with disabling fang fighter still bosk will claim the bounty no? So it is not useless ?
As in the rules it say opponent get the bounty
if you remove the upgrade nobody gets the bounty. yes as explained in the video upgrade removal is good vs bossk.
