    As a Muay Thai and Karate fighter, I did these high kicks and i do them on my break at work. Some people have to understand that real life fights are gonna get messy, it's not gonna look like a choreograph movie fight scene. I always tell people that don't understand that this message.

    Just a couple things that I noticed here, The Karateka quickly abandoned his classical way of punching and attacking. He also seemed to "gas out" before the other fighter did. The other fighter had more cardio and stamina and a little less formal technique yet showed more real-life application. It doesn`t matter what system you use, but you have to train to apply it in real situations.

    When street fights kick off in real life it usually just ends in adrenaline fueled hay makers. You also get people just swinging off each others clothes. Most thought out technical techniques just go out the window under real stress. If you watch trained fighters in brawls it tends to be the people doing stress tested sports that can actually make it work. Boxers, Thai boxers, judo , Ju jitsu practitioners. People with compliant partners rarely do well and it just ends up a messy brawl lacking technique.

    • @pauljohnson6019

      Easy to beat, technique always wins along with knowing where to hit, a karate expert isn't going to waste time hitting over and over again, or grappling to get you on the ground, one punch, kick or chop, on strike to the throat or temple, you're unconscious, with internal bleeding.

    As a guy who had trained Kyokushin and had some fights on the streets I will say that high kicks are too risky in the street fights. Better to use mid kicks, front kicks to stay at the distance and do not let opponent to hurt you.

    • @John-ob7dh
      @John-ob7dh 3 місяці тому +2

      Yes agree.Even Bruce Lee said his high kicks were not advisable in a street situation.

    • @pauljohnson6019
      @pauljohnson6019 3 місяці тому

      Depends on the relative level of skill of the opponent, we're assuming you're not going to be attacked, by someone who also knows karate/streetfighting, so a high kick should work, no good if you're fighting someone who also knows the same karate and skill, then it becomes 50-50, if you're confident in your strikes, it should be over with one hit.

    • @John-ob7dh
      @John-ob7dh 3 місяці тому

      @@pauljohnson6019 This I reckon is true. Although 83 I can still kick to the head fast .If I have to demonstrate it to someone they near always stagger back out the way ( I don't aim to hit obviously ) as they don't expect it from me.[ trained for 8 years pretty hard ]

      It's hard for 265 pounders to throw straight kicks effectively. If they fall into a split they'll be in a a heap of trouble.
      Still, ideally they'd have straight kicks to manage distance and control tempo of the fight. Why so few people use straight kicks, I Don't know. They always worked for me.

    • @WadeSmith-oe5xd
      @WadeSmith-oe5xd 4 місяці тому

      I'm sure he can.
      I can give you some pointers too: Aim for 200 pushups per day. Do like 2 sets of 50 pushups and five sets of 20 pushups per day.
      Do as many situps as you can each day.
      Practice trying to do splits as low as possible every day. I know most men can't actually do it, but try every day anyway.
      do your basics in a mirror or on a bag and just do about an hour of cardio kickboxing 5 -7 days per week on as heavy a bag as you can hit without hurting yourself. I can punch a 500 pound bag filled with lead shot and not get hurt, but it took years of training to do that. Then you need a good traditional sensei or muay thai instructor or MMA instructor. Be sure you can prove they are a good instructor and not a joke.

      It was a tough dojo and on kumite( fight nights )At least half of guys did not attend.There were many injuries ,from bloody noses to broken arms.i often came home spattered with blood and trying work out if it was mine or one of the many guys I sort of sparred with or actually fought with.in those 8 years I had fractures ,dislocation, busted ear drums ( kicked in the head)broke hand .
      I was dishing it out as well ,broke a guys arm in a block got disqualified at Crystal Palace tournament for hitting a guy with a uraken.All healed up fine ,but we did hit each other .R.I.P sensei Ray Fuller and Sensie Keinosuke Enoeda.( He graded me all the way through to 1st kyu.

    The red guy did do some Judo. But I'm sure it's not his main focus. The Red Guy had too many wasted opportunities on good positions, like the Epic Georgian grip. 🤷‍♂

      only people who never fought in real fight said that.
      there won't be any ground fight because when you are on the ground your opponent would curb stomping and soccer kick your head into a mush.
      and yes, curb stomping and soccer kick is legal in real fight.
      good luck telling your opponent those are illegal in the MMA rule.

    Oui absolument, trop bien. Attention à la loi. Ne pas aller trop loin. Réponse proportionnée SVP. J'ai mal compris, j'avais compris le karaté dans la rue, en self défense. Sinon, le karaté c'est puissance et vitesse donc aucun problème hormis pour la préhension d'où l'intérêt du Kudo. Ici selon moi après avoir vu la vidéo, c'est le cardio et l'expérience qui ont manqué au karatéka.

    If they are using boxing gloves the judo take downs will be almost impossible to do because they will loose the ability to have a strong 1)grab in order to throw down the opponent ..so why insist on the throw if I the process of trying they’re going to get hit bad…the boxing gloves help the boxer but not the karate guy who is most effective going in with bare hands…2) the karate guy kept trying to do a judo throw that he could never do…and he is not a real karate guy…his punches had no power…and his kicks were only decoys and he went for the throw that he could not execute. anyways because of the ridiculous boxing gloves …it’s obvious the “karate guy “ ? is a judo guy…not a karate guy…and the fight was done under terms that favored the boxer ….the Graceis clan stood almost unbeatable in the early days of MMA until they started to put gloves on everybody and all of a sudden the big losers at the time became winners …
    all the boxers had to go back and learn judo skills and counters since they were all getting choked and didn’t even know what a choke was in the beginning …..

    There's no street fight here - in a street there isn't a referee and you can throw pocket sand into someone's face. As far as the karate influence goes, I guess if you say so. For your merchandise, I would just say for most people they should only do low to mid kicks anyways - yes, very skilled high kickers are a thing, but it takes a lot to get there. If there were any desire to teach someone to survive a street fight, I would not be teaching high kicks for 12 weeks.

      The thing I would add for my tuppence worth about high kicks is that I agree with low to mid comment but if you can train for high kicks the low/mid become quicker, stronger and easier with strong form. I would never use a high kick especially at my age but its good for my brain, body and ego. It's good to be able to do them rather than say "I used to be able to do them" 👍
