It’s not even polarizing, it’s just the antis of Jimin his second fandom, the others are just not use with his kind of style. This one is masterpiece it makes you relate with him on how he struggles setting himself free, very relatable. This song and performance has very powerful message. This already breaking records.
Jimin just came and broke multiple global records with only one pre-release song. He is the king of the industry. The best in every field, there is no one like him 🔥
The only reason its polarizing is because there are haters who 1. hate the success that the bts members have (both as a group and individually) and 2. they cannot comprehend autotune being used as a stylistic choice. Jimin CLEARLY does not need it and is instead CHOOSING to use it as an effect for the sake of the song’s vibe. It’s an absolute banger. And hes just getting started.
Thank you for reacting. This song is to be enjoyed as a theatrical performance, as a package deal. Jimin is not only a great singer, but a professionally trained contemporary dancer (and he also did hip hop and martial arts). Jimin is one of the best in the industry for the expressive lyrical dancing that’s really fluid yet also very powerful.. and always tells a story. With his beautiful high register of vocals and timbre, one can say he is a very unique singer as well.
The whole song is a masterpiece, from his vocals to production, the whole choreography and the music video everything is absolutely stunning. And the use of autotune is a stylistic choice, he used it emphasize the lyrics of that part which is being said by his other persona, which is like just 4 lines. The only people who don't like the song are those who in general don't like BTS and are haters in general. This song is already breaking a lot of records so those haters opinions are irrelevant

The words on Jimin's chest are from a German poem written in the late 1800's by Rainer Maria Rilke.
I love everything about the song. A lot of ppl were shocked for some reason when it’s something i expected from him since he has been talking about trying something diff for so long already.

For all of us who dilligently follow BTS and the individuals in the group - We love this. Using autotune to distort his voice her is artistically intentional. Not many can use this in their music and have it come off so well as this. Suga from BTS also has a song called Set Me Free on his mixtape D-2 from 2020, that's the part 1. The 2 songs aren't related but it's a way to differentiate between the 2 songs. The poem on hin is in German, i don't know yet what it means. Seeing him like this is so fabulous on so many level,s

❣Jimin’s “Set Me Free Pt.2’, it’s everything & more then I could hope for, Jimin’s amazing artistry, his so beyond spectacular,, so mesmerizing, phenomenal performance! The song, Jimin’s vocals, his dancing, the amazing choreography, also the amazing backup dancers, the lyrics he wrote, the music he composed as well as being involved in the production! Jimin was hands on, involved with every facet! No wonder the in-house legendary producer for BigHit Pdogg, who worked with Jimin throughout the whole album, stated that “in 2023 K-pop will be ended by Park Jimin”! Seeing this makes me that much more excited, waiting in anticipation for release of the full album, Jimin’s “FACE” on March 24, along with his other, main song ‘Like Crazy’ MV. Though Jimin’s song ‘Set Me Free Pt.2’, blew me away , meeting all my expectations & then some, I was also not totally surprised, because indeed Jimin is now ‘set free’ from the confines of being part of a group, to now be able to open up full throttle and ‘finally’ be able to release all that he held back for so many yrs! Jimin has been involved in every facet of creating this album! Hands on all the way, perfectionist that he is, including writing lyrics, composing, as well as being heavily involved in production! Jimin’s true, real, inner self will be finally seen in all its raw, authentic, amazing, heartfelt, passionate, emotional, sincere glory! This is aside from Jimin’s full range, hardly ever being shown, aside from high notes, but being finally able to show his full registry, mid range as well as lower registry as well! I’ve always been so frustrated not being able to see as well as hear Jimin’s full capacity of talent. So often not being fully taken advantage of, but that comes with being part of a group, that has every single member having so much talent that it’s been so limiting for Jimin, especially him being so selfless, making a point of having others shine before himself. Now the spotlight will be just on him! Though we’ve seen Jimin’s amazingly spectacular, so mesmerizingly outstanding solo performances before. But now, as Jimin himself, mentioned, he’ll indeed be showing the depth of his raw inner self! In an interview Jimin explained: "I tried to express the grand scale of the song and [the ideas of] determination, passion, and overcoming. “Set me free” means setting myself free, so I thought it was important that I be the one to set myself free - not someone else. In the end, I’m the one who has to set myself free. I would say the song has the energy of a light in the darkness. I wanted to express that kind of picture everyone has in their head - a ray of light coming into the darkness is the only thing you can see. If I had to say specific colors, I’d say black and white."
I think that Jimin's high notes sounded like a cry to set him free. I could feel his pain through the high notes. It sounded kinda eerie. I love how you watched the video and gave your honest reaction.
It gets better and better everytime I play it. Always something interesting and new. I love how it's different and don't follow the kpop formula. It's truly a masterpiece. The producers behind this went off
♦If you are interested, Jimin will appear 2 nights in a row, on The Jimmy Fallon Show. First on March 23,, Jimin will be doing an interview, not sure if he’ll also be performing this song though, even though as a pre-release, it’s out already out. On March 24, the actual day Jimin’s full album “FACE” is released, along with actual main song from album “Going Crazy” MV, he will appear once again, to perform possibly both songs! Jimin, along with the rest of the group BTS, has appeared several times before throughout the years. But Jimin, in particular, has developed a special bond between himself & Jimmy Fallon over the yrs.

I enjoyed your reaction, this song is a masterpiece in my opinion. The only people calling it a 'mess' are antis who hate BTS and Jimin, theyre trying to elevate their own faves by insulting others. I love the song and the choreo.
