Exodus: Proxima Centauri is my 20th favorite game, and may go higher with more plays, and with this expansion. I have been waiting for this review. I always wanted a game like this, even before I immersed myself in the hobby (as I had played 1 or 2 non mass market games for many years, and knew something like this was out there). I have only played the game twice, but really want to play it more. I do have to thank Tom, for helping find this game, and had 3 games in this genre narrowed down. But his reviews for the base game helped me make the final decision. And again a big thanks to Tom for this review.
+Bruno Macchiavello I was surprised that didn't happen. Now that this is donme, I doubt it. Buy hey, they have 2 reviews of the base game, maybe they will do 2 for the expansion.
Nice review, you can lose the movement tokens as the new streamlined Drive Power Movement rules are great! They also make turn order more strategic. Great expansion!
IMHO, this game suffers greatly from a lack of playtesting. The research , action/reaction and combat card mechanics are brilliant and so much fun to play with,. Yet half of the game is spent dragging through a convaluted bidding and movement system, with way too many unnessecary steps and rules. The red faction can also completely abuse the drive-power system with his hyperdrives in the final round, and easily win 100% of all games if he just follows a set strategy. That being said , after I made a couple of simple houserules streamlining and simplifying the bid and movement system those issues were gone..
It's so annoying when a company links player color with a Race/character, there is no reason why they need to be linked together. Let the people playing the game pick which color THEY want and which Race THEY want instead of the Designer/publisher doing it for you!
Hi Tom. As usual I did like your review video, but what i didnt like was in the end when you smashed your hammer into the box! As a game collector that was to much for me to see.😢

Great review. This is indeed an excellent expansion. One question, any chance for a Miami Dice review? Just to hear Sam's opinion a well

Thanks Tom. I would definitely be interested in knowing how much closer this expansion brings Exodus to an alternative for TI3 for Sam.
It does seemed to have turned the game into Very-Almost-TI-3.

Agreed. We never play without drive power movement and ship blocking anymore. Really emphasizes turn order and ship development.

May you please share your house rules?
What are your thoughts about Fractal: Beyond the Void?
Finally! 😃
Thanks Tom! Great review!
Woot! Just snagged Coolstuff's last copy of the expansion *and* the base game (for now).
Sadly a little over a year later it's out of print and is selling for $150 or so. :(
Man, broke the box, Tom, are you getting stronger :)
To be fair, all of the Kickstarter Limited cards are available separately as promos.

I love the hat. Oh, yeah... there was a game review too. But man do I love that hat!
Did you ever think about secretely writing down the movements for each ship?
+dampf13 Yeah, using a piece of paper to record ship movements, or using the Drive Power Movement is how I play.
Does this expansion make it a TI3 killer? I'm guessing not, but it's getting close!
Gotta actually be able to buy it to be a TI3 killer.
This game is in my pile of "own but never played".
I really should get it to the table before I buy this expansion...
