Beautiful conversation. I had the pleasure of meeting the descendant of King Naba Krishna Deb (Nava Kishen Sen) in Kolkata, we had an interesting conversation about history of his forefathers and how his Raj Bari was used as Treasury by the British. He said the same thing, his ancestors viewed the British initially as saviors from the tyranny so that Hindus can worship freely. He also stated that his subsequent generations had invited Swami Vivekananda after his triumphant return from Chicago and the place where he gave the speech is still marked in his house. It is Shova Bazaar Raj Bari in Calcutta where all these events happened. Any student of Bharat should visit the place

What is this?? The Mughals were taken out by the Marathas and the British took away India from the Marathas not the Mughals..
Marathas ruled around 2/3rds of India over an area of 2.5 million sq km and they were at their peak in 1759 CE... Mughals after Aurangzeb were rulers only in name
Maratha empire and Vijaynagar empire played a huge role in protecting Hindu dharma

Yeah i think he meant after marathas destroyed mughas across India and compressed them within a size off city. british after coming in power colonised remaining mughals. Vijaynagar empire took care of jihadi terrorists empires in south.

When I went in search of origin of Durga puja in India to Shobha Bazar Kolkata. Raja (Title) Nobo Krishno Deb (title) was Bharadwaj Gotra and Kshatriya. Bharadwaj gotra was one of the seven Gotras sent by Vijay Nagar Kingdome in different direction to prevent conversion. Nabo Krishno Deb was the Zamindar of one of the three village which later became Kolkata. They took help of British to defeat Navab Sirajudoula and labeled as traitor. The first Samajik Durga puja was celebrated in 1757 for this occasion and Lord Clive was invited. Photographs of the occasion is there in the front room of the Raj Badi. But more interesting thing is the Devi Durga is not standing on Lian as usual but on a Horse in Shobha bazar. Probably the Horse and Devi Durga has some connection to Greek Warrior goddess Artimis or in 1757 Vahana (vehicle) of Devi was Horse as it changes every year.

Excellent conversation between two of my favorite UA-cam personalities! As long as we retain our dharmic and religious practices in our homes, we still have a chance of decolonizing our minds. As mentioned we should learn and know where to keep English language and american behavior. It is like we say keep your chappals outside the mouse and dont bring them in. Soemtimes, it is distressing to see parents talking to their children in english and not in their mothertongue. We should keep correct, proper names for our children. They should learn our epics and be entertained by stories in them. We have lost much, but not to the extent of reclaiming much of it. We should make sure good people rooted in our culture and civilization get into key offices of power. Modi ji and many in his cabinet are good examples. Hope we keep it that way, at least for a few decades.

Abhijitji and Sandeepanna, I watched this again after the Jaipur Dialogues annual fest session on Education. I have made a choice for change for my 11 year old son, a few years ago. I have had him learn Sanskrita as a language and have been teaching him the Sanatana roots. I live in a foreign country, incidentally happens to be very very sanatani in values and language .. Thailand. It makes it rather hard for Satsangha, so we discuss the Mahabharata and Ramayana every evening. Now I make him tell me the main story and I add the upa-stories with more details. I have had him study the Jignasa course at Agastya Gurukulam that laid the foundations of how to learn Sanskrita. I had learnt Sanskrita in a Macaulayian education system which posed many learning issues. Using this base we do Mathematics, Bharatiya Sanskriti, Jyotishya (Astronomy, stellar positions) etc.
I have also started teaching him the skills - life skills, cooking, growing plants, observing the lunar positions, using Stellarium to understand our Nakshatra system, using Rajju Ganita for practical geometry etc. It is a great experience. At the same time I have a fear that this may not be good for his future. Listening to you again, Sandeepanna's word "It may not succeed, but it shall certainly not fail" - paraphrased gives me abit more confidence. Moreover, without sacrifices and effort how can we even hope to succeed? There are a lot more metheds available today and hardest to find is the courage and willpower.
Dhanyavaadah and pranaams to both of you and anyone who reads this.

Dutch had built up there city named and styled as Fredricknagar near Calcutta. Later Dutch was bound to sell out the whole city to British which eventually extended strategic depth of British hegemony.

I would like to request you sir to put up a question to one of the intellectuals, i.e.,
    1. What is the impact of reservation on our modern society and, to where it is taking us and, is any there a way out of it?
    2. What is the history behind the caste system of India and was it present in the ancient times? Does this system was abused by the British and can we remove the damages done by this system?
