Thank you very much for your sharing, after reading I also decided to take my dog to the UK via DFDS, but I have a problem when booking the ferry ticket: if I chosse No vehicle the system will inform me“For the selected vehicle you can't bring pets along” May I ask how you dealt with it？
If you are just travelling as a passenger with no car you have to book via the service centre. It says you should ring up but I just emailed them. It was a bit of a hassle by email as I was told certain dates weren’t available but then when I rang up they were available so better to call up and book over the phone 😃
You’d think you would just be able to book online and agree to the terms of shipping/acknowledging you are responsible for knowing how to import etc but the only way is to call them up!

If you will have a car with you, you can book it online during the booking process. But if you are travelling by foot you need to either call the call centre or email them. I found it easier with the call centre as I was booking last minute so didn’t have much time to wait for replies.
I wouldn’t necessarily say it was peaceful but managed to sleep plenty. The bed was super comfy. But we were already quite jet lagged anyway after arriving from Thailand so woke up quite early.
No this is just classed as pet friendly cabin. It sleeps 4 people as has 2 bunks on the top too but it’s the smallest one they do if travelling with a dog. They don’t allow in the premier cabins either 😞
Awwww lovely wee dog. We’re thinking of taking our wee westie on board next year.
I know a few Westies who frequent the ferry as a way to get to the Uk! It’s a great option than having to make them fly in cargo 😊
We’re so use to travelling on the Calmac Ferries, where dogs have much more freedom on deck and in some lounges than on the channel ferries .

There’s a pet relief area you can take them to although it wasn’t great so he wouldn’t go and waited until we got to the other side
The space is significantly better on the king seaways. I was hoping it might have changed but obviously not
