4 Day Solo Float Trip with my Dog

- In this episode, join Oliver and I as we set out to explore a new river in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. With thunderstorms, whitewater, ticks and mosquitos, conditions were difficult at times but this was an exciting trip. Amazing fishing, swift fun paddling and a delicious catch and cook shore lunch made this a trip one we won't forget! From Marquette county to Lake Michigan, this 60+ mile adventure beings in the video below..

I grew up on lake superior, had a Labrador dog as a teenager. We went hunting and fishing and went everywhere together. Watching your video brings back fond memories. I'll be heading back to the picture rocks area to fish trout next spring. I did a lot of backpacking and camping as a kid, hope to do it again after I retire.

Super cool! I lived Gladstone for almost 5 years and I absolutely loved fishing around the area. The Escanaba river was always a blast. That area has a lot to offer. Great video man. I really enjoyed it!

My son (14) and I start our 7 days doing the Manistee on Sunday.
I had a German Shepherd years ago that would ride in my canoe. We tipped one day, and her collar got stuck on the limb of a sweeper underwater. I almost lost her. Be careful Olly!

My stomping grounds. I know that river well. Put in up in Gwinn and enjoy the ride. I fish that river occasionally and it's a short rip to Cornell from my house in Gladstone. Lots of rain lately made for some fast current brother. Awesome video! Hitting the salmon up at dawn.

Treat all your clothes will permethrin, fantastic for mosquitoes. Also a good head net is a must.
Very cool love the camping trip with the dog. Dang skeeters and black flies will get ya. The wife and I live down state and we plan all of our trips north to avoid peak bug season. Learned that lesson the hard way like everyone else has to lol

Some really under rated walleye fishing you went threw brookies above boneys basin few miles turns warm and slow to the dam then great fishing below it. But they get buggy..

Great video! For them mosquitoes and flies too get some dragon fly pins to put on you and your gear it's amazing how good it works. Especially if they clip on and look like they are flying up above you or around you. Give it a shot! Keep up the good work!

That was nice! Oli is living the life, that's for sure. Dude, you gotta up yer coffee game. Folgers in a percolator? May I suggest a 4 cup Primula-style, which is slightly smaller than yer perc, and Post Alley coffee from Seattle's Best? It only takes a heaping tablespoon for a righteous camping cup every time. And SB is the cheapest prime stuff.

Some nice river browns! Not lots of rivers with bigger browns like that on a regular basis. I'm close to the UP but only been there a few times mainly skiing.

Great video kid! We just came home from up there in champion camping and floating on the Peshekee River 2 days ago. The U.P. is our favorite! The mosquitoes were brutal thou for sure!
