What a lovely video. Great to see a young boy getting involved. I used to love ambling over a frozen solid ground picking pheasants, rabbits and pigeon. Spent 17 years wildfowling on the Kent coast. Bought a .410 for my sons for pigeons and rabbits.. Memorable days. Ill health and age I gave up but bought an air rifle to ambush quarry. Well done to you and your boy, a pleasure to watch.
@@scottishoutdoorlife good shot or not. At least Rowan shoukd know its not all easy peasy!! Embrace being out in tbe open. BTW, the funky camera with the 'red dot' did show you were a bit off on some of the shots. All tho and an enjoyable watch. 👍
No just the summer ones, I think they're great, that's my third pair. Fine if it's not wet, if it's dry and even windy there good. Get a great grip and can load cartridges and even .22 magazines with them on.
What a nice way to spend an afternoon. Thanks for sharing. Any chance of a backstory - how you got into this? I've been shooting for a few years now but struggling to hook up with any field shooting - rough shooting appeals!
I've fished since I was four but my dad doesn't shoot so got into it as a teenager. When I started selling cars at 20 it coincided with me getting my guns so started asking every farmer or person who lived on a farm if anyone shot it. Eventually got a farm or two then got a few recommendations. At one point I shot a total of 7500 acres myself. With places being sold etc I'm now down to 5000 acres which is more than enough for my son and I to enjoy and look after. I do realise from being on several groups on FB I'm very lucky and appreciate what I've got.
Way too many crippled birds left to die. Either the dog is out too far or someone needs to sharpen up on their marksmanship.🥴 on open cover shooting like that I always carried my favourite Greener or Browning in mod./full. and one of my Springers. Excellent retrievers on land or water.

Brilliant. It’s like being out with my son, bang, bang “oh for Gods sake”, “I’m so unfit...”, “he’s a better shot than me...😂”

Great way to spend time with your son👍👍👍

Cracking video again guys.
Thanks Chris, embarrassed myself with my shooting but thankfully I'm not that bad everyday, a good day out none the less.

How do find the MacWet gloves? Are they the winter ones?
