      at 1:53 he says "i've forgotten what songs I use this on" and not WE
      2:45 "hey here we are looking at MY pedal board" and not OUR.

    For those who are wondering, the sound at 9:10 is a Digitech IPS 33B (Actually two of them) One is set E min 5-1-3 and the other I believe is set E min 3-1-5. I bought one to mimic the sound and after I listened to the track from the CD, I realized the left and right speakers were in different octaves meaning, to truly mimic the song, you need two 33B's.

    I'm loving this. For fellow players, I noticed @ 9:00 in the video and 9:45 when Joe plays the classic double-stop bend (G string up a step makes a min 3rd over B) he doesn't do anything to keep the Floyd from de-tuning. I have the JS2410 guitar, set up to near perfection with .010 strings, bridge perfectly level... but double-stop bends? Forget it. Unisons are a bit easier to bend both up and make them true, but G over B is impossible to do as Joe does here. I have a magnified screen capture of this vid and Joe isn't compensating in any way. The 2nd string is perfectly straight. And he's not applying reverse trem pressure cause he actually floats the trem during the bend. I have a SuperVee Maglok on order. Hope it does the trick cause I miss being able to do that, it's a staple I like to use every once in awhile.

      @@edsmith898 Ed, I just gotta tip my hat to you, a fellow player who's curious, like me. I've posted this query, with links to this video and even screen caps, to a few Ibanez guitar forums, and so many of the non-helpful replies show that people just don't bother to READ what I wrote. LOL I STILL haven't bothered to try/install either of the two mechanical solutions I purchased, the MagLok (which I highly doubt Joe uses) or the ESPArmingAdjuster, which is a better bet, cause it's so much like Ibanez's own discontnued gadget. But hey check this out... a link I've never seen before: joe.emenaker.com/TremStabilizers/

    Saw Shockwave SuperNova tour in PA, 2016-04-06. LOUDEST show I've ever been! Joe's band and Keswick Theatre sound don't take no prisoners, yo. Hottest, tastiest, kick__s music punched home by thousands of watts, eardrums tickling during the show and outright PAIN afterward. Joe's Shockwave tour is for REAL ROCKERS only. Dude is at the top of his game, his band totally smokes, and his tone is so wet I swear I saw soapsuds and water spraying out his Marshall stacks... fantastic. Love this video, thanks Joe. The Satch is a great guitar player and all round nice guy. He's humble too. He doesn't have a whole catalog of pedals but that's great because what he has, does exactly what he wants and gives him a good variety of effects. I just loved when he made it scream with the whammy bar!!

    @RomeRider389 It's the Digitech IPS-33b. It's a rack mount effect circa the early 90's. I looked around and only found 2 for sale on ebay.
    I just found out that my digitech GNX4 effects board has an IPS harmonizer setting and I'm trying to set it up the same way he has it. You can control the harm. interval (3rd, 4th, 5th etc above or below the root) the mode (maj, min, mixolydian, harm. min, etc) and the key you want it in. I'll post the exact settings as soon as I figure them out.

    It's a Mo'Joe' in the bridge and in the neck...Pro-Track on the 2400 and a Satch Track in the 2410 (Orange one is the prototype that became the 2410 production model). His guitars for the Unstoppable Momentum tour (he's on the tour right now) have sustainiac pickups in the neck slot.

  • @Acepryus
    @Acepryus 14 років тому

    @Acepryus After fooling around a bit I think this is how he has it set up. He's using two 33b's the first harmonizes a 4th below the root in the harmonic minor mode with the harmony level set high (close to 100)
    The second 33b harmonizes a 4th above the root note in mixolydian with the harmony level set around 50 so you get just a hint of an overtone.
    Both harmonize in the key of Eb
    I can't duplicate it exactly because my board can only do a single note harmony either above or below the root.

    Just an FYI. I was looking at the user manual for the DigiTech IPS-33b and the copyright date was 1990 so that gives you an idea of the era it was from. It's an amazing effect for the time.
    If you look on here you'll find a video posted by 0ddb0d showing some if the 33b's effects. It's sold me on the effect and I plan on finding one some time soon
    Check out the "shimmer" effect in his video. It's just awesome.

    That's the channel switcher for the Marshalls. Getting this kind of tone is not actually as elusive as you might think. Take a Marshall or Soldano or whatever and run a guitar with a good humbucker (Duncan or Dimarzio or?)through an overdrive pedal and into the amp. Put a delay like a BOSS DD-3 or 7 or whatever in the effects loop. Done! :)
    It's all in the fingers and technique. All the pro players say that because it is true! :)

    Joe did a guitar clinic in Perth last year & he was very humble in his approach & delivery to the audience, a really nice guy. He jammed with people from the audience at the end: this chick killed all of them...with a standing ovation...she wasn't technical or shredding, just played what he loves, blues, and he said that during one of his talks. I thought, well this girl understands more than these guys who were trying to shred with the master. After the gig he did a signing session. My son & I got to shake his hand while my wife took the photo, who decides when we got there that she's buying a ticket at the door to watch him play...I'm a 6'2", 120 kg ex-rugby league player: I think I sort of scared him a bit with my tatts & my size, sorry 'bout that Joe, but when I shook his hand its the same size as mine, whoa. Anyway, my wife, son & I enjoyed the night fully & the memorys will be with my family & I forever...thanks Joe

  • @JoeyRec
    @JoeyRec 13 років тому

    @Jraax Im pretty sure he didn't say it cause he doesn't use it. Reverb can get very cluttered in a live mix definitely for Joes style of playing its more about the tube amp. Like he said he uses little boxes here and there for different songs.
    The key is the two delays he probably supplements that shorter one for a reverb and then the longer one. A shorter delay like that really sounds good live cause it has space to breath more than reverb.

    Not 100% sure, but I think it is for if/when he has a problem with the main amp he is to hit the "yes" button to switch to the backup amp. Hitting the "no" button won't do anything. He may feel during a song that the amp is just not sounding right and walk over and hit the switch to change to the backup. Just my guess.

    I'm not a huge Satch fan...but I love how he did his own gear run, and even showed the sound. Good times.

    Based on my limited attendance at his live shows I would have to agree. I know he's done thousands of shows but of the 3 that I've seen he impressed me with with his respect for the audience. None of that keep'em waiting crap. If the show time said 8PM he was jammin by 805 at the latest, and his 15 minute breaks were 10 minutes long.

    What a great down to earth guy. Anybody know what he's paying at 7:55? It's awesome.

    I dont know the exact pedal, but you can use Harmonist ps-6 BOSS with set 3 voices that you get same effect.

    Is he using the ProOctavia at 8:47 ? And is he connecting that mysterious pedal to the Digitech 33B to get that amazing sound at 9:11 ?
