I'd certainly subscribe to enjoy live telecast of the DSO since I am out of the country--love the DSO and feel equally enamored with the brilliant conducting of the Orchestra's new Maestro. Any possibility of having transcriptions available through the internet? I was able to enjoy live presentations of the (stilted) performances of the Merida Symphonic orchestra in the Yucatan...the same possibility would make me a supporter of the DSO and it's on-going seasons of incredible performances.
Hello, James! Yes, you can watch our live webcasts for free by going to dso.org/live. Viewing our on-demand archive requires a $50.00 annual donation, and you can find out more at dso.org/replay and dso.org/watch-listen-and-connect/. Thanks!
I am really proud of the upcoming North America premiere of the Enescu Piano Concerto at the DSO this weekend. A truly extraordinary composer, ahead of his time though at the height of his fame in our parents' and grandparents' time, was known for alliances with royals as well as demimondes. 😄A superstar of not that many years ago . Likely played at Orchestra Hall 90-some years ago as a violinist. Whatever press the DSO might get in the UK, Europe , Asia and Canada this season, this remarkable event this weekend will most likely garner the lion share.
Excellent performance. Tempos are correct, not too slow or fast. Playing is great. Would be nice if this was downloaded a bit hotter as far as volume. Otherwise, I really enjoyed it.
That 'FF con fuoco' was hardly that near the end of the 2nd movement. It wasn't very decisive. And why end the movement mf-ish? Looking at the score, it doesn't seem to want to. Oh well.
muslit, Bignamini wanted it to be lighter at the end of the mvmt II since “it was all a dream.” Not sure the mics do the hall justice, or even if we use them all for webcasts. Our last stretch at the end there was pretty loud to me onstage. :)
@@amandablaikie4470 Well, I was just basing my opinion on the way the score looks. There is a big buildup to the end, and to abruptly end it mf seems off to me. The maestro has his opinion as well.
I am really proud of this.
Spectacular performance of a spectacular master piece.

I really should have said " dalliances" rather than " alliances",:, har har .

I am astonished to listen to this orchestra in violin, especially violin played by the woman.
Stunning. Thank you DSO!

It is a wonderfully skilled orchestra. I don't know why the conductor doesn't trust the musicians more. He is playing it awfully safe.
Bravo Jader, grande persona e grande direttore🔝
wow! fantastic!
Bravo Jader! BAMBI!
This is a great performance. Reminiscent of Ataulfo Argenta's version with the Paris Conservatoire, which is the best ever.
Mixed feelings about this. The orchestra's sound is beautiful, round and silky. Problem is...you don't wear silk to a witches' sabbath.
The conductor’s technique is superb.

despite purism, theres always room for interpretation.
慌てて以前保存していたスラットキンの演奏と聴き比べてみた。指揮者とコンマスが代わるとこうなってしまうのか?あのアンサンブルは何処へ行ってしまったのか?
Demasiado anuncio, con frecuencia de 4 minutos!
Maybe the assistant concertmaster could use more than 10 inches of bow.
maybe you could win an orchestra job before you tell him how to do his?

What a boring performance...!
Not bad, nice version but the magic did not happen....
Magnifique et fantastique version pour la fantastique symphonie de M. Berlioz. A friend of USA :)
