I’m pretty sure that Jacques is named after the French marine biologist Jacques Cousteau, as is the villager Cousteau. Jacques wears the same signature watch cap that the real Cousteau does.

Recently I discovered KK Slider comes to the plaza on your birthday and sings KK Birthday while a bunch of messages from your villages appear wishing you a happy birthday. I didn’t know that was a thing!

Rodney is my favorite! I love his singing and his game room. Even though he's often considered one of the ugliest/worst villagers, I think he's adorable. I'm glad you didn't mention his hatedom since he's usually identified with that. I'm still waiting for him to be added to Pocket Camp.
i used to have rodney on my island or in my new leaf town but i let him explore or he moved out.
I don't know why he is so hated on, I don't think he is super cute but there are certainly far uglier villagers then Rodney. And yes, his house is awesome!

I have had Lucha (just left) and Lionel on my islands. I initially hated both of them but I’m warming up to Lionel.
Yeah I had Lucha move in and I hated him, I didn’t really talk to him and luckily he has just moved out! lol

Something I've found interesting is that, at least in my observations, all of the smug villagers seem to be either very loved or very hated. My guess is that it's because your first campsite visitor in ACNH is smug and you have to take them. So some people end up with Rodney or Chops which are very hated by many people, while others end up with Raymond or Marshal which are very loved by many people. I went through the process of getting every villager on my island and getting all their photos and one villager that I got attached to that I wasn't expecting was Keaton. He's not a permanent villager on my island but I did seriously consider having him permanently, However I've noticed a lot of people hate Keaton. I have at least one of each personality on my island - Whitney (snooty), Winnie (peppy), Lolly (normal), Muffy & Cherry (sisterly), Raymond & Zell (smug), Hamlet (jock), Hugh (lazy), and Wolfgang (cranky). Raymond and Zell are best friends on my island and I love that about them.
I got Lopez as my first campsite villager and I wasn't planning on keeping him around, but I've grown pretty attached to him alongside Zell who I found at random through just one NMT

Now that you've done smug villagers, you should do big sister villagers next, now that you've done the first new villager type since New Leaf. Also, No mention of how Keaton is technically a parrot? I feel like half of these villagers should still be lazy (Rodney, Graham, Cephalobot, Huck), jock (Ed, Lucha, Ken) or cranky (Beardo, Claus).

So I dunno about you but it bugs me that the Sanrio villages have species that the villagers are based on but use another animal type instead EVERY TIME
the cat character uses a gorilla instead, the bunny character uses a deer, the dog uses a cub and, the frog uses a rabbit…. So it’s just I dunno if they though of the concept and forgot they had these species in their roster of animals

i had julian and cephobot on my island for a while but i want marshal to come to my island but julian is a unicorn.
Jacques (pronounced sorta like jawk). His catch phrase is "Zut a lure" which means "god dammit" or "damn them" in French. Lol. I took French 1 & 2 in high school & when we got our dictionaries all the class flipped to the back cuz our teacher would say it.

There is another robot villager besides Sprocket and Ribbot and Cephalobot. Del, the robot alligator. Cephalobot makes 4 of them total.
Del is inspired by a Japanese Battleship, not a robot. His nose is a canon

Smug. I love Leopold. I was so glad he is in New Horizons. When I had Pietro I changed his catchphrase to "you'll float too". Which is funny for him, but not so funny when cute little June started picking it up...or all the other villagers. At one point all 10 of them were saying it. I would like to see the lazy personality. I love them so much.
