I've had 4 of these over the last 23yrs, first one blue second was yellow then third was silver and the latest one is a black 2002 with YZZ shocks, love them!
My first was a black 1200, bought a year after they came out. I got knocked off it in 2004 and sold it for parts. In 2005 I bought a used black 1300 and kept it until 2021. The buyer came from Wrexham to my place in SW London. I would have had to sell it anyway because the expansion of the London ULEZ would see me coughing up about £150 a month on average, on top of everything else. Not to mention that London is now nearly all 20 mph, and you can get done for being 3 mph over the speed limit.
That’s terrible about London, I absolutely hate it if I have to go down there to work, I was downat Excel 2 weeks ago, working all weekend, hated it. Get yourself up north a lot more relaxed.
@@mid.bike.crisis My xjr1300 is the 2005 model, blue in color with the white stripe on the tank and on the mudguard. I am literally in love with this bike. If I had space in the garage and enough money, I would buy every color available 😁👍. Un saluto...and BUON NATALE ☃️🎄🎉🛷🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🛷🛷🛷🛷🛷
Its not a "Kenny Roberts" mate its a "speedblocks yellow" (i have the same in blue) the Kenny Roberts ones are yellow over white separated but a similar but different black block graphic, theyre similar and a lot of people get them mixed up.
If you can afford to keep it then I would mate. I truly believe they are going up in value. I considered selling mine as I’ve not ridden on much in the last year. I went in the garage yesterday and looked at it, smiled and thought it’s a keeper.
I have a Green ‘99 XJR1300 it’s not SP but it’s immaculate and 96k on the clock it’s never been apart. Change the oil every 10k ride the pants of it doesn’t use oil or blow any smoke. Looks tough sounds tough 4 into 1. Muscle bike.
@@mid.bike.crisis absolutely fantastic motorcycle the only time it let me down was with a flat battery after 60k the battery was the original. Bike is a one owner!! Regular maintenance is key just change the oil. I’m from Australia plenty of wide open spaces to stretch its legs. Can’t rate the bike enough. Fantastic channel by the way.
my new obsession. i’m wondering how much it would cost to get a different colour and have it painted in the yellow. cause the price jumps up 5 grand it seems just for that colour. unless there’s a bunch of stuff on it that warrants that.
Sorry mate, blues the best 😊. I had a 2001 sp in blue. Had it only a year old. Animal ! But like riding the equivalent of a Rolls Royse. Miss mine too.....still
The SP model (ohlins and enhanced paint job) was produced between 1999 and 2001. The SP model was stopped in 2002. Ohlins came as standard thereafter and the SP was dropped. Rookie mistake mate.
I had an 06 registered one that I sold last year. Always regretted it so the hunt was on. Always wanted an SP from 2000/2002 so was super happy when I bought this. If you’re still in the market, I’d buy one soon as they’re going up in price.

I’ve got a love for older bikes. The XJR is a classic muscle bike. Sounds like you love them too 😍

Awesome bike's. Have fun.
Still makes me smile, even though it’s wrapped up for winter now 😂
2001 model. Chrome carb tops ,different shape tank.side panels different. No heated carbs. Smart bike.
Correct, thanks mate. Yellow must be the best colour
I bought a 2006 Yamaha xjr1300......2 months ago.....i love this bike .......MOTORE FANTASTICO e DINAMICA superb 👌.....un saluto dall Italia ✌ 🇮🇹

I would have one of every bike if money and space was no problem 😂
Black and grey, black engine. Best by far.
They’re all good bikes to be honest
@@mid.bike.crisis Absolutely, I just think the black and grey from 2002 was so classy.

Thanks for confirming, I got it wrong along with loads of other people. Still a great colour though 😃
Brilliant bike, I hope to be able to find a good one next year. Preffered is this trim, or the newer one in blue with a white stripe.
Great choice mate! I owned an 05 model in blue with the white stripe, my preference is the yellow though.
I agreed to buy one today with only 14,000 km in the Kenny Roberts colours 2003 model.
Let me know what you think after you’ve bought it. Are you UK based?
I’ve got one same colours ,, 2001 carb model ,, was thinking of part exing it for a gsx1400 but now I’ve seen ur vid I think il keep my xjr lol

@@mid.bike.crisis yes I think il do that ,, I had it up for sale at 4k but no interest at all ,, only done 13k miles
Keep it! Cover it up during winter and enjoy it summer. They still attract a lot of attention at cafes 🍽️

I don’t think it would cost too much to respray but if you want original then hold out for a yellow one 😃
