my calculus teacher taught us this game, now I can't get enough of it. also I'm heading to A&M in the fall so I'm so excited to be playing so much dominoes. I'm definitely gonna teach my kids this game
Oh the memories that come flooding back to me. I've learned to play 42 by watching my Grandpa Smith and all of my Uncles play. Then they taught me how to play. You can say I was hooked for life. Thanks for the memories, Bob. If I can get a chance to get to that neck of the woods, you bet I'll be playing in honor of my family.
A part of the fun with playing Forty Two casually is socializing. You open up and talk with other players as you go along. It’s complicated enough to keep your attention but simple enough for you to actually have a consistent conversation. Competitive playing though is fast and professional.
That is the best table game I ever learned from my elders and this game has gone to my grand children that say the same thing. Let us all get others involved in 42. Make it a national game from TEXAS
Some good buddies of mine in Dallas got me hooked on this game, and I've been bothering all of my friends back home in Austin to learn the game and play with me. It's such a perfect game-- hands go quick and you always have a good time. Long live Texas 42.
My parents play this game all the time.. There's not a time that doesn't go by, birthday, christmas, easter, any excuse to play, they even play moon, when there's only 3 ppl. My Grandparents played as well, in fact my grandfather could tell you what you had in your hand by the second hand....
My family has played 42 forever. Infact the reason I am on this video is becauar I was looking for a easy way to teach my daughter and son in law to play.
It's like Guy Clark was following my grandfather from the Ft. McKavett area... "One day I looked up and he was pushing eighty, he's got brown tobacco stains all down his chin, Well to me he was a hero of this country so why's he all dressed up like them old men? Drinking beer and playing Moon and Forty-two... like Desperados waiting for a train..."
These dominoes that are used in the game of 42 is double 6. I've loved playing this game with my family when we get together for the holidays. Now they have past away I have found a game app called 42. And I play it on a regular basis just to keep my bidding skills pretty sharp. But anyways, look for double 6 dominoes. You can even find them at Walmart or possibly at one of those dollar stores like Family Dollar or Dollar General. They will be located in the board game section.
To the reporter: Hope you don’t mind that I took a screen out of this video. It was just shown to me and it shows my late grandfather who is a former state champion. If it bothers you please contact me. Rob@rattlergrips.com Rob Schneider
Very odd style of playing Dominoes, us Puerto Ricans we play Draw & Block Style of Dominoes Double Six with our own style of play called "Capicu" the Dominican version is called "Capicua" basically similar style not much difference and of course the Cuban Dominoes that plays with 55 dominoes set of Double 9

To keep score, write the lines of A&M. A has three lines, M has four. Which makes a grand total of 7.
