My husband and I have done this exact thing for a decade. One rv lot in Indiana during summer and one in Texas for winter stays. We love this life. We recently sold our Texas land after my second cancer diagnosis in order to pay off my medical bills but it’s a great life. 👍🏻
We did a similar thing thanks to C19. We always thought our RV was our safety net but the pandemic made us realize it was also an albatross because there was minimal RV storage options around our home in Denver. We bought a lot in Mission, TX in a park similar to yours (RV park turned residential) that has RV sites as well as mobile home sites and several stick and brick homes. We have a clubhouse, many activities, a pool and hot tub, billiards, shuffleboard, workout room and 7 other parks within a short golf cart ride that welcome us for any of their activities. Best part is our HOA dues are $350 a year. We love it here and spend 5-6 months here ever fall and winter.
@@k1ghz960our HOA gets us a clubhouse, a pool, jacuzzi, weight room. We also have numerous entertainment and dances every month during the winter season. Our dues stayed the same for approximately 10 years before finally going up $50 a year last season. Yes we may be a bit unique. HOA fees will increase because costs increase. But, $350 a YEAR is nothing
So glad that YT suggested your channel this am! Six generations of my family have lived along the FL east coast since the early 1950’s, but I was the first born here. My father was a rocket engineer and we moved up from Palm Beach to the Space Coast in the early 60’s and two more generations were born here. The “anti FL hate” used to upset me, but with over 300,000 moving here annually - I encourage it! As you’ve already discovered, the secret to comfortably living in this hot muggy state is to never live more than a couple miles from the ocean (the Atlantic, not the Gulf). The constant sea breeze keeps the air always moving and the bugs away. If you haven’t already, I highly recommend bringing your RV up to Jetty Park Campground at Port Canaveral. Space X launches at least once a week and you’ll be able to see lift off! Also, front row viewing of cruise ship traffic at the world’s 2nd busiest cruise port. I look forward to watching more of your videos.
We bought an acre in florida outside a small town 10 minutes to the gulf. We put electric, sewer and water on the lot ..have a little barn that has a dryer and extra refrigerator in and there is a washer in the camper as well . We put our 40 ft fifth wheel on it ..we winter there and go back to our home in the spring before it gets deadly hot ... it cost a little bit to do this but we did a little at a time ...
What a BEAUTIFUL spot, i want to live like that also, im so tired of caring for our house and 5 acres, gardens galore, every spring i say "this is way way too much for me now, we need to downsize" it kills my back and body. I cant wait to sell and live lile you all! Bless you both and thank you for sharing your beautiful wonderful life!
Great video! We too purchased 2 RV sites side by side in a slice of Heaven in a place called Star Valley in Wyoming. We have steadily developed them over the last 15+ years from a a patch of dirt to a peaceful meditative sanctuary. It has been hard work but rewarding. It’s nice to have a “home base” of our own to come back to in between all the travels. @@rougeroadie1193 I am very sorry for the late reply. Have been away from the internet for a while. We found ours through our travels. Our initial one was at Tiger Run at Breckenridge, CO. However, there are specific Facebook groups where you can see lots for sale all over the USA and you can find some very good deals now and then. I will say that our Star Valley, WY lots have been the best thing ever. That area is a slice of Heaven...built up enough for a good range of services and amenities yet still has that old-time rural Florida vibe. Congratulations on having such versatile properties that let you have a home base yet give you the flexibility to travel.

Awesome video, as always! Almost two years after selling our house in 2020, I urged my husband to purchase a lot in a motorhome resort in FL and it's the best decision we ever made during our RV life! It's such a relief to just have a rest during the winter here in FL, then take off again in the spring! Congratulations you two! One time we saw the jellyfish glow and it was so big it lit up our pool area - never never saw such an amazing sight! Amazing technology to be able to have a reusable rocket! Your little slice of Florida is really awesome!
Glad to see vids again. Hope our paths cross again soon one day. I winter just the other side of Orlando and we can see the launches all the time. I def like the night ones better.
This is amazing! I hate the northern winters, and I plan on spending the winter this year in Florida as a young-ish (42) snowbird! I would love to try reliving while I'm there next to see if I would be interested in buying an RV property in the future thank you for this video it's amazing
We stayed on an rv site there about 4 years ago and loved it! The lot was for sale and now I wish we would've bought it! There's a house on it now. We took a walk and found your spot while we were there - great location and wow... you've made some gorgeous improvements since then!! Very, very, nice!! Do you think you will ever build on that spot?
Yea prices have really spiked, as for building I guess we didn't mention that but it is an option. At this point we don't have any plans to do so, the hurricane risk and almost impossible insurance would make me think twice before doing so.
Tom love the UP shirt. We're looking for property there. After camphosting in the Hiawatha National Forest we fell in love with the area (not the bugs in May/June) but the area! ~Lynette
Great idea having your summer and winter bases to enjoy while not moving down the road. We live in Temple, TX and SpaceX has a facility in McGregor about 40 miles from us. We hear the testing of rocket engines from that distance. They mount them on a gantry and then run them for about 10 minutes as they are getting them quality tested to put into their rockets. Pretty neat to hear the roar of the engines and if you are near McGregor you get to see the light show as well. Really like your Florida digs...y'all have fixed it up really nice!
Love this. My girlfriend and I work in the shipping industry, so pretty much 6-8 months a year we are away at sea. For the remaining months we stay in our tiny home/trailer at various campsites in the northeast or we stay at our condo in south Florida. We’ve been looking for a chunk of land somewhere in between that we can keep our tiny home full time with all of its own hookups and permanent deck/patio. Until then, the idea of this permanent RV spot has piqued our interest. I guess my only question is how would we go about finding something like this? Is there a website that has listings for these RV parks with purchasable lots? I’ve never seen anything like this in my limited time looking. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for the videos. We are rvers that has only done stationary rv in nebraska. We have never even pulled our camper. It stays same spot year round. We are allowed to do alot with the lot we own in campsight. Not big sight and we are packed in but Me and wife loves it.
Sweet! We’re thinking of doing the same since we have no intention of owning another house. Hope to see you guys out traveling this summer! Maybe at the TC Rally in Washington? 😎
So, many of us are asking or trying to guess which park this is. I live in Martin County. Just a little north of me which would be about 45 miles north of west palm are Windmill Village, Holiday Out and Nettles Island. But these are all just across A1A from the beach, not a mile from the beach, so I'm not sure.
I really enjoyed this video. My BFF bought a 35-ft camper last year, and has been living in an RV park in Tampa where she pays $700/mo to rent the pad. I'll be sharing this video with her. What did you guys pay for the FL 'condo' lot?
Great setup, but I'd strongly suggest a FENCE around your property. When someone realizes that you're gone for a month or 2+... they may get comfortable using your land as a regular toilet for their doggy. Sadly, some people do not respect their neighbor's property these days.
Yay Happy for you guys! It’s beautiful and the hedges are great for privacy as well! How did you find the properties? Im looking for that now Did you buy in unrestricted land spots in northern michigan?
Where is this place? I might have missed it but I watched the entire video waiting for the location? I live in an RV community in central Florida and was curious. I'm in Polk City.
Thats amazing! I hope you get clear skies. Unfortunately we have obligations that we cannot change that prevent us from heading into the totality, but we saw the last one and its soooo worth it!
I just found your channel and I didn’t want to scroll through everything. Can you tell me where this is located because I can’t find any land to park my fifth wheel on my husband passed from Covid. He was an RN paramedic at Sarasota Memorial and I moved up near Dunnellon Florida, so I could make new memories and not have such PTSD down near Sarasota so I’m just curious where you’re located atand if there’s lots still available?❤
I think I saw that same launch from Melbourne during Vanfest if it was late in January. Me thinks it's way too cold to back to the Keweenaw right now. Keep the good stuff coming and wave if you go up 127 through Lansing.
This launch was last night! But Im sure we saw that one too, if its clear we usually step out and watch them :) They are launching a few a week now! Yea got a little more time before we head north :)
I love your layout, landscaping, and pavers. We are under contract to purchase a RV lot on the East Coast of florida. Can you come over and help us design our lot?
My husband and I embarking on a second chapter in the spring. We paln to sell our home and hit the road full time but were interested in this same type of set up. Have no idea how to find places like that. Can you share the location of your lot? what its called? So excited to start really living Thanks
How would someone go about looking for a spot like that to buy? That looks like the best idea! Hubby is from Florida and I know this would be a great option for us when it's time to go visit family ❤
A search for RV community on google might pull some up, but if you are looking in a particular area look for RV lots for rent or sale by owner on facebook marketplace and you will usually find some of the communities that are not listed elsewhere, then you can research it more. Sometimes it can be a bit tricky without knowing the area, we stumbled across this one.
@@MortonsontheMoveYou may have stumbled across this place but if you even rent 1 season, you’ll have plenty time to research an area of interest. Enjoy your semi retirement.
I’m guessing “home” insurance and property tax must be pretty low with such a lot when compared to a single-family home. You still get to live close to a FL beach but you’re not hammered by the hurricane inflated home insurance and higher property tax rates. Also, if you’re domiciled in FL $0 state tax is quite the nice perk. I would say enjoy life but you obviously are 🙂
Lol, you are correct, we only pay a small liability insurance since we rent, but no insurance otherwise. Tax is probably high compared to the size, but its still insignificant compared to a home. Overall its probably one of the most affordable ways to live this close to the beach (and low hurricane risk)
Curiosity, how many parks like that are around? I am 70 and retired and thinking of getting a permanent site somewhere and getting out of my old apartment living like fishing and bike riding but not coast to coast travel. and what kind of cost are we talking?
As a Coloradoan you couldn’t pay me to live in Florida, but yeah, I am so so glad we didn’t sell our home. Fulltimers everywhere are burned out and needing a place to call home. Nice to have a warm place for winter and the northern alternate. But having roots to go home to is definitely NOT overrated. Haven’t seen you guys in a while so glad to see the algorithm delivered you up today. Edited to add: I’m about to turn 70 and holy moly you guys are like 40 and already living the senior lifestyle.😂 Well, enjoy it!
Lol, I guess you could say that. Sometimes we do feel out of place but we're still on the move :) glad you found us, hopefully more adventures to come soon!
We lived in Florida for three years. What a disaster of a place: hot, humid, bugs, hurricanes, police sirens 24 hours a day (and we lived in a nice gated community), alligators in the Publix parking lot, New Yorkers, horrible drivers, fake people, and so on.
I really wish many more people felt like you, Florida has been ruined by the influx of outsiders! Yes, I know, I have been here almost my whole life over 60 years. It was a great place, very low cost of living in every aspect! It is ruined now, like the other big states!!!
Its a wide range for sure depending on location and ammenities, currently in our resort they go for around 200k but we only paid 70 when we bought it. You can find lots around the country from 30k-1M depending on where and what it offers.
Would like you to share numbers. My experience is a property runs around $300k and they won’t let you rent it by yourself. They will rent it for you at 50% of the profits.
We bought this a while ago for around 75k; they now run around 220. We can rent ourselves here, but every place is different, and prices vary wildly for sure.
@@MortonsontheMove would you mind sharing your parc. I have a home presently in Sarasota but I’m thinking of what you’re doing for my LTV U24TB. Can you build a small house, believe they are called casita’s. Thanks, Norm.
Looking for property in Michigan. We live in Bay City Michigan now. How far north did you have to go to find property that you did not get hassled about living in an RV? Upper peninsula?
We're FT RVers who don't own any property because we believe that this makes us a target for the tax man. With the last property we owned in Louisiana, our property taxes jumped 1,000% one year after doing a few improvements and the property being reappraised. I sure hope this doesn't happen to you. We can winter over in a nice FHU RV park in the RGV in Tx for only $170/mo. + electric. Since we have over 5,000 watts of solar on our MH we don't even connect to the electric pedestal. We also like to winter over at the LTVAs in the Yuma, AZ area for only $180 for the 7-month season, which includes unlimited water, dump and trash disposal. That comes to only 86 cents a day if you stay the entire season. I'm sure your property taxes alone are many times that small amount. Ours sure were. Another concern is owning property in a state you're not domiciled in. Will the state income tax people try to claim you are residents of the state, since you own property there and live there at least part of the year? Florida is safe in this regard, as they have no state income tax, but owning property in other tax hungry states, like California, might be problematic.
All valid concerns and need to be evaluated for sure. We are expecting re appraisal on our northern property but local taxes are really low and because its not "livable" its far lower. Thanks for your thoughts however as im sure that could help someone else thinking of buying.
That's awesome!! We actually saw a falcon heavy from Tampa once, so I think most of Florida can see them if it's clear enough. They go high enough :) lol
My husband and I have done this exact thing for a decade. One rv lot in Indiana during summer and one in Texas for winter stays. We love this life. We recently sold our Texas land after my second cancer diagnosis in order to pay off my medical bills but it’s a great life. 👍🏻

~Lynette
Lol, yea those bugs ugh. There is a lot to love, especially later in the summer! It is a long way from everything tho.
Yes it is ... a long way from nowhere but there's Lake Superior! :-) And Lake Michigan! LOL... Thanks for the reply! ~ Lynette (Loved the video!)
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. We are looking for a RV lot somewhere. Been full time for a couple of years now.
Congratulations
You are living your dream.
Thanks! Thats crazy you can hear the engines 40 miles away on the ground!
I could not live that close to other people.
Great landscaping job. Thanks for sharing.
What a cute couple! Love the life you have built!
Thanks for showing the launch!! We were at Cocoa Beach once when they launched a rocket. It was so awesome. The sound was fantastic, as well!!
Glad you enjoyed it! I think everyone should get to see one :)
We have an RV lot in Palm Springs, CA… rolling in a 25’ Airstream and loving it!
Love your outside lights! We are also looking at Monacos. Really any of Class A pre-def models.
Sweet! We’re thinking of doing the same since we have no intention of owning another house. Hope to see you guys out traveling this summer! Maybe at the TC Rally in Washington? 😎
Awesome! As long as you still love the RV we have really enjoy it. We will be back in the TC this summer but probably going east first.
Awesome video of space rocket launch. Hugs to you both. If have North Palm Beach come for homage pasta
Love the T shirt.
Manistique here.
Would love to afford something like that.
Awesome lot! Love what you have done.
Thanks so much!
What employment do you have that allows you to travel back and forth?
You guys should drive down to Bolsa Chica TX for a Starship launch in May!!
Fun visit to your “campsite”! And loved the rocket launch sprinkled in!(fellow rocket nerd here)😊
How do you handle hurricanes? Oh, guess listening to more of the video sounds like you are just not there during that season & head North.
Great setup, but I'd strongly suggest a FENCE around your property. When someone realizes that you're gone for a month or 2+... they may get comfortable using your land as a regular toilet for their doggy. Sadly, some people do not respect their neighbor's property these days.
Nice video update!
Cool parking spot.
Tom get a Haircut! 😎
LOL!!! 😂 I love it! I’m thinking about something too. Be safe and thanks for sharing!
I love the idea of this lifestyle. I live in WI. How do you pay your bills? Where does your income come from?
Yay
Happy for you guys! It’s beautiful and the hedges are great for privacy as well!
How did you find the properties?
Im looking for that now
Did you buy in unrestricted land spots in northern michigan?
Where is this place? I might have missed it but I watched the entire video waiting for the location? I live in an RV community in central Florida and was curious. I'm in Polk City.
I miss west coast Florida. Tampa to Naples and fort myers
Love your new haircut!
Sweet place!! Are ypu headed anywhere to see the eclipse? We camp up on Lake Ontario and it's going right over us, so excited. ❤
Thats amazing! I hope you get clear skies. Unfortunately we have obligations that we cannot change that prevent us from heading into the totality, but we saw the last one and its soooo worth it!
So cool. Thanks for sharing the launch.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You kids are doing well for this lifestyle, $100,00 for a lot in FL and a $200,000 RV.
Cheaper than a house pretty much anywhere these days ;)
@@MortonsontheMoveI'm heading north at the end of this month but I'm a whole lot further south than you are. Safe travels.
This is living 🎉
Thanks for sharing. Like 943! Love the launch too
Love the Monaco👍🇺🇲
Its been a great coach for us!
What do you do with the golf cart and hot tub, etc?? Do you have a storage unit?
Kind of, we bum off family nearby for storage for whatever cant stay here.
I love your layout, landscaping, and pavers. We are under contract to purchase a RV lot on the East Coast of florida. Can you come over and help us design our lot?
We really missed watching you.
We have plans for lots more this year! :)
@@MortonsontheMove - We will be watching!!! Is your property in Michigan in the upper peninsula?
I'd be interested in doing some things similar, but I'm very concerned about the increases in the HOA fees that are sure to come.
My husband and I embarking on a second chapter in the spring. We paln to sell our home and hit the road full time but were interested in this same type of set up. Have no idea how to find places like that. Can you share the location of your lot? what its called? So excited to start really living
Thanks
Please tell us how to look for these kinds of properties
How would someone go about looking for a spot like that to buy? That looks like the best idea! Hubby is from Florida and I know this would be a great option for us when it's time to go visit family ❤
A search for RV community on google might pull some up, but if you are looking in a particular area look for RV lots for rent or sale by owner on facebook marketplace and you will usually find some of the communities that are not listed elsewhere, then you can research it more. Sometimes it can be a bit tricky without knowing the area, we stumbled across this one.
@@MortonsontheMove excellent! Thank you!
@@MortonsontheMoveYou may have stumbled across this place but if you even rent 1 season, you’ll have plenty time to research an area of interest. Enjoy your semi retirement.
How did you decide where in Florida you wanted to be and which park you wanted to buy a lot?
We have family in the area so that was the primary driver, weather, amenities and or rentability were also factors.
Great video! Do you know of resources that can help find properties like this? Are any for sale in your community?
@@MortonsontheMove Yep. Inbound hurricane. Just drive away. Gotta love that.
@@knutblaise9437Especially if you’re living in Michigan or Maine for 6 months.
Curiosity, how many parks like that are around? I am 70 and retired and thinking of getting a permanent site somewhere and getting out of my old apartment living like fishing and bike riding but not coast to coast travel. and what kind of cost are we talking?
Where did you get the spool table and bench set?
Hi how can I find lot space’s available in Florida do I speak to a realtor what will be the best way to find property available?
which parts of florida are rv park friendly? I think you said ur in south fl
Is that Fort Myers. My wife and I are thinking about something similar.
Hi! We just tuned into your channel. Where did you buy your RV lot in Florida? We just got back from wintering there.
were about 45 min north of west palm.
New to your channel…
I see you guys have a plug-in Chevy Volt. How do you transport it? Drive (follow) along, flat bed, or dolly tow?
We use a tow dolly behind the motorhome :)
Love the Monaco👍🇺🇲
We lived in Florida for three years. What a disaster of a place: hot, humid, bugs, hurricanes, police sirens 24 hours a day (and we lived in a nice gated community), alligators in the Publix parking lot, New Yorkers, horrible drivers, fake people, and so on.
I really wish many more people felt like you, Florida has been ruined by the influx of outsiders! Yes, I know, I have been here almost my whole life over 60 years. It was a great place, very low cost of living in every aspect! It is ruined now, like the other big states!!!
We don’t want you in Florida
Can you give us a range what these lots sell for?
Its a wide range for sure depending on location and ammenities, currently in our resort they go for around 200k but we only paid 70 when we bought it. You can find lots around the country from 30k-1M depending on where and what it offers.
What part of Fla? I'm jealous you did a great job. My dream spit would be the keys.
Thanks! were north of west palm.
@@MortonsontheMovewhat’s to size of your space/ land?
How do I find lots like this for purchase? Thanks for sharing!
how do the costs compare to campgrounds? ($30-$50 night). Are there equipment requirements? (RV has to be < 10 years old)
Interested in this answer also
Would like you to share numbers.
Yes we are in the UP, each township will be different, our property is just classified as agricultural buildings since there is no house.
No state income tax in Florida.
is there a resource to finding RV lots for sale in Florida? Thx
How is the lot secure when you’re away?
We can see the launches from central Florida.
That's awesome!! We actually saw a falcon heavy from Tampa once, so I think most of Florida can see them if it's clear enough. They go high enough :) lol
