@@spookymulder9048 As in "electronica". It's a thing in US, some umbrella genre term for music journalists who can't tell a 808 from 909.

Oh mahh loooorrrd! Have I died and gone to electro heaven? I haven't heard a set this good from a "newby" (for want of a better word) for a long time... It seems like it was made to my specifications, rarely happens these days.

Any mix that samples Red October that cleanly goes in the Top Tier. This is a beast of a set.

If Nina Kraviz is the Techno Queen, Helena is the Dutchess
Helena is far from both of them, Helena moves in the Darkness and fine electro beats , the queen of electro maybe...
Very primitive mix. Typical euro elektro and acid - pale, boring, humdrum and autoaggressive. I call this kind of mixes "Deutsch sadness". Mixmag, thank you for an opportunity to listen this mix with German "vibez" (anti-vibez, actually!) in 3 minutes just on youtube, but not in a club!
Could you point to any mixes like this that you'd consider the gold standard? I like electro but am a bit ignorant on electro djs or at least no names come to mind right now. Though personally I am finding this mix consistently dope and like the 'primitive'-ness of it.
Dave Clarke - World Service 'Electro Mix' is the champion in this field... :)
Do you know the song that goes: I feel pretty? I feel pity (for you) instead...
Helena Hauff embodies everything thrilling about dance music right now. Her sets are full throttle thrill rides fuelled by an unrivalled sense of dynamism. Each time a new mix drops from the Hamburg native it’s a momentous occasion. She’s the most recent winner of the prestigious Essential Mix of the Year trophy for her racing 2017 instalment on BBC Radio 1, and her 2016 Mixmag In Session mix paying tribute to the late 80s and early 90s Frankfurt sound stands up as one the finest ever published on Mixmag.net.
We’re pleased to report that her Cover Mix keeps this unstoppable form rolling apace, surging through acid, techno, electro, breaks and even hip hop with an irresistible, screwface vigour. Some people label her style as dark and moody, but as someone who only feels love and happiness for the sounds she spins, there’s only one word Hauff feels is apt in describing them: “BANGIN’”.
Great mix. Shame you rude bastards didnt contact the musicians involved. Seeing as it's unpaid promotion for your magazine this type of behaviour is completely unjustified where would club music be if it wasn't for the Underground?
