Genji is not a counter of thorbjorn. In fact, flanking against a team with thorbjorn is a nightmare compared to any other hero. Thorbjorn is a really good pick vs genji.
This is true because as a genji main its very hard to play against a good Torbjon who places his turret so that the only way to get to it would be to be within the range that the turret can lock on and shoot at him. Along with this once Torbjorn is behind his turret hammering away its practically impossible to kill Torbjorn or his turret because the turret is locked onto you and his deflect will not do anything once Torbjorn is hammering away at his turret whereas if u decide to go for Torbjorn himself quite a few times his turret will kill u before u get to kill Torbjorn himself... so i agree
I have alredy seen the first two episode, offense and defense, I am still waiting for the tanks and the support videos since the two videos before are really good.
PunchAkainu No he isn't... How about he kill me with a lucio while I'm a roadhog? Yup just hook him then shoot doesn't work so what you have 600 health, just keep hooking then shooting
My god, this channel is amazing! Been a subscriber for quite some time now, but I am still amazed about how well these guys explain and break down aspects of a relatively new game! Keep up the amazing work!
It's a skill based fps after all>.> saying "have advantage" is better than saying "counter". I think player like seagull can just solo kill me with a mercy while I'm playing reaper
Yes! The only reason I title it with "counter" is because it's basic wording everyone understands, but on a deeper level, I understand completely your point. In short, you still have to _play_ the role successfully and ultimately do more damage than the other player if you want to win.
It’s crazy how much the game has changed since this video. I would LOVE love love to see an updated version of this. Sometimes it’s nice to be reminded of all of the basics like this.
This is great!! Been looking for a quick through all characters for offence and how to counter them. I'm a defensive player so D.VA and Roadhog can't wait for that one.
I've played Junkrat plenty. No one seems to understand that you can detonate your concussion mine before it hits the ground. This is how you deal with a pharaoh who thinks that you can't hit her.
Sometimes I want to yell GENJI while shaking my fist in the air, Khan style. His reflect is most effective against players with good accuracy, and it is so easy to insta-melt yourself instead of the genji if it catches you by surprise.
I think DVA is also a good counter to Pharah, she can use her shields to block rockets and her boosters to fly up and tackle Pharah out of the air. Tackling does not damage Pharah in and of itself, but then both characters usually fall onto the ground next to each other. At this point DVA's close range guns can kill her, and DVA's bulk allows her to withstand any close range rockets long enough to get the kill.
Soldier 76 is not a solo counter to Pharah. If she is at extreme range, then she has an advantage, and if the pharah lands at least two rockets, the soldier is dead. Most midrange victories between these two depends on who landed the first blow.
The thing with soldier is that he can play at almost any range, and should use that to play out of range of close range characters like roadhog, and flank/sprint up to snipers. Medium range is soldier's strength anyway, so technically he is solid against anyone.
I feel you should have mentioned the fact that Tracer is also fairly strong against Mei. Tracer can run laps around a Mei, not allowing her to freeze Tracer, thus throwing Mei's one advantage in combat out the window, giving Tracer an easy kill (assuming you dps the Mei fast enough for her to not ice cube)
Notes for reaper (for what they're worth): Reaper's biggest problems are; Roadhog, Zarya, Mcree, Tracer and Pharah. Roadhog and Mcree are soft counters however because if Roadhog misses his hook he's an easy target for shotguns and if Mcree is close enough to use a flashbang and doesn't immediately kill Reaper then he can pretty easily get 2-3 shotted by Reaper. Pharah is a problem because she can easily control her vertical range and shotguns have a very limited effective range. Most other targets aren't a problem. Even for people who have better range then Reaper (eg, soldier 76), in most maps there are buildings or cover to hide behind to be able to force an engage on his terms. Zarya is a problem if she has her shield available because this gives her enough time to deal damage to reaper. Unskilled Reapers will also unload shotgun blasts into the shield further amping her damage. Tracer can be an issue anywhere them map is open enough as a tracer at mid range won't take much damage from shotguns but can still lay down a punishing bit of fire on Reaper. What damage she does take she can shave with rewinds or health packs that she can get to before reaper. Reaper's is otherwise effective against the rest of the crew from overwatch with his only remaining less favorable matches being D.Va, Ana(*), and Mei. Reaper can win the fight against D.Va while she's in her mech, but only if he lands shots to the cockpit, otherwise he'll lose out on that fight. Once D.Va ditches the mech she's super mobile and a good D.Va will be hard to hit and will get out of Reaper's close range. Once at a distance D.Va's pistol is way more efficient then Reaper's shotguns. That having been said if D.Va can't get and maintain distance then she dies SUPER fast to Reaper sans mech. For Mei the fight is pretty even, Reaper will be able to take out about 75% of Mei's health before he's frozen, but if she starts injured or if he has wraith form up then he'll win that fight. If he's caught without wraith form then Mei wins. In most cases what happens is Reaper shoots Mei full of holes, then wraith forms, Mei ice blocks, and they both reset leading to neither being the victor. Ana by herself is unlikely to kill a Reaper outright, but that sleep dart of hers will often give the rest of the team a chance to end him. Reaper is not a tank by any means after all. Reaper synergies well with another Reaper as this allows the pair to clear out regions of the map that could be used to cover alternate high points. If both reapers make it to the back line then they can trade aggro back and forth using Wraith Form and cover each other while they reset/reload. Additionally healers/squishy back line targets will drop much faster. Alternately you can have one harass the backline and one stand with the team. Reinhardts fighting 2 reapers become swiss cheese as they are force to have their shield down towards one of them, or are stuck trying to kill one while both are shooting him. Reaper also can synergize extremely well with anyone who can amp his damage; namely Ana or Mercy. Ana is great because the added movement speed let's him close with enemies easier and helps his ult. Mercy can be great because when Reaper runs out of sustain mercy can keep him in the fight. A reaper with damage amped shotguns is a sight to behold :-P. People who can keep him alive while ulting are also wonderful which means he works well with an attentive Zarya or Lucio.
I'm sorry but a few things are off about Tracer. First off, she definitely can 1 v 1 winston, it just takes a lot of player knowledge and skill. Tracer's reticle bloom, and shot spread are actually a bit of an illusion, as turning off reticle bloom reveals a much tighter spread to her shots than most players understand. When you know that her shots are landing nearly in the centre of the screen, you can use her very effectively at a mid-short range; Just outside Mei's Freeze gun distance, Symmetra's lock on, or Winston's. The cases in which a Winston wins, are when he knows exactly how to use his skills. If he's jumping at the right time to close the distance between Tracer's blinks, and tossing down shield when she's outside his range, and his jump is cooling, Winston will often win. But something you didn't mention: Symmetra can be an absolute nightmare for a Tracer. A fully charged orb from Symmetra's alt fire will gravely damage Tracer when you shoot it around a blind choke, and she walks into it. Also Symmetra's lock on beam is similar to Winston's and makes short work of people when adequately charged. The only crux then becomes Tracer's movement which can be countered by luring her around a wall into a freshly placed turret. The turret slows her, and unless she has rewind handy, you can easily catch her off guard. However catching a good Tracer player without any blinks, or rewind left isn't very likely. However the sheer fact that Symmetra is massively underrated, people don't see her as a serious threat, which is the easiest way to kill Tracer: A good ambush.
I don't think Soldier is weak against DVa. While I agree that a DVa rushdown can ruin an unsuspecting or low-health Soldier's day, Soldier emptying a clip into a distracted DVa's mech can cause major problems for her as well. As for 1V1 situations, it seems to me that he has plenty of options for dealing with her: 1. Post-buff, Soldier's plasma rifle will chew through through DVa's armour in record time. Concentrated fire on her mech's critical hit sweet spot will quickly cripple it if she decides to rush him down, even moreso if he manages to land a volley of helix rockets between defence matrices. 2. Biotic field almost cancels out DVa's damage output and, if used at the right time, practically guarantees that Soldier will win the firefight against her. 3. Soldier's sprint is an excellent tool for retreating and regrouping when the fight doesn't go his way. It can be used to quickly grab health packs, burn that last couple seconds off the biotic field cooldown, shake DVa using map geometry/cover, get to a more advantageous position for returning fire, or break away from the fight completely. DVa lacks an up-close burst damage capability that can deny the protection afforded Soldier by his biotic field and sprint. Roadhog's hook and scatter shot, Reaper's shotgun blasts, Mei's freeze gun, and McCree's stun grenades turn Soldier into a relatively weak target in close quarters. At long range, he is weak against Widowmaker and Hanzo (assuming their attention is on him). Soldier is never weak at mid-range if he plays smart, with one exception: THAT DAMN HOOK (and ultimates I guess). All this said, a Soldier with good terrain knowledge, situational awareness, and foresight can utilize his toolset to minimize vulnerability to an extent defined by the state of his team's efforts to achieve the objective, all the while in contact with the enemy. He is, in his own words, "a hard man to kill".
yeah u can and sometimes it actually damages roadhog but sometimes it doesnt... idky that is but thats how it is. Im not going to complain just once i dont get hooked im all good
you can also do tracers bomb, meis frozen ord ult thing, phara rockets, hanzo arrow ult, symetra balls , and pretty much everything else that is shot/thrown
J-Art But the point is that's not what he meant by you can't deflect this types of heroes. Winston he means his gun. Reinhardt his charge. Symmetra's beam gun.
let me give u an example: back line is the heroes that stay back, like supports and snipers, while front line are the ones in the middle of the fight, such as offense and tank
Tracer can't take on Winston? I'm not sure that's accurate. I kill most Winstons I run across because they run straight at me. I unload all of clips into his huge head hitbox, and take him down. I Blink away if he drops his shield and Recall when he tries to jump on top of me. Worst comes to worst, I can just run away. Winston is mobile, but pretty much no one can catch Tracer if she's trying to run away.
Goal isn't to chase the Tracer, it's to focus her as she tries to dive _your_ line. No point to hunt her across the map. A good Winston easily 1v1's her if he can aim his jump properly. What rank are you playing at? jw -F
Winston is a soft counter to Tracer but he's not meant to chase her down. He's got other fishes to fry... I think Winston's role varies between initiating the attack and protecting the backline against flankers like Genji and Tracer. If Winston chases Tracer to the end of the world, he's just not doing his job. If Tracer goes for Winston while he's protecting the backline, you'd better have your ult or expect him to be very bad, or you're dead ^^
Winston will just swat tracer away like a fly, while his tesla gun damages you without him even trying if you get close enough to damage him. Tracer is not what I would call good against a Winston. Winston's nightmare is Reaper, who will melt a Winston close enough to do damage with his tesla. Unless the Reaper runs like an idiot instead of just pointing his shotties at his big dumb head, that is.
I main pharah and honest I don't have problems with any other hero except reaper and torborjn when they catch me off guard. I just learned to work around it. Competitive skill level of 65
People mix up the turret characters too much. Genji can do well against Bastion and Pharah can do well against Torbjorn but everyone thinks that's enough for them to go the other way around. Whereas Torbjorn's turret doesn't shoot fast enough for Genji's reflect to kill it. He has to sacrifice all of his HP out in the open to take down a Torbjorn turret and that's only if it's left alone. If it's repaired, he's screwed. As for Pharah, she can take out Torbjorn's turrets if she survives long enough but gets melted out of the sky from Bastion.
KangDo Yea, not to mention the fact that if the turret is still alive and you're a Genji on offense, it'll seriously fuck up your ability to harass. His turret is auto-aim so it doesn't matter how mobile the Genji is.
Genji's shurikens hold their damage at range, unlike hitscans. I'd never advise you to dive a Torb with Genji in the same way you'd do a Bastion, instead, use his reflect and dash to freely take a ranged _position_ and shell it down from there, far enough so it can't hit you. If you run into it thinking you're supposed to "counter" it head on, yes, Torb will gladly oblige your presence with a shotgun. But in reality, most heroes in this game don't have "counters," I use the word in the title for convenience only. Torb doesn't have a hero to counter him, because all those who can fire at range at him "counter" him, _range_ counters him, which requires positioning, positioning often is hard to get to for most heroes... unless you're say, Genji for instance.
no dmg falloff!! u can easily kill the turret at range with genji, so YES he is good, FFS im so sick of people complaining before they really understand the game/heroes. FFS FFS FFS FFS!!!!! FFS FFS FFS!!!!!
Lowkî LMFAO, pretty ironic coming from you eh? And then what? You use your life to trade for the turret's. Torb then proceeds to rebuild the turret in 5 seconds. FFS, I'm sick of brainless people like you whining when you don't even understand the game. FFS FFS FFS!!!!
The reason she is listed as weak to winston is because winston doesn't have to aim to hit her tiny hitbox, he just has to point in her general direction.
i dont find that Winston gives Genji as much problems to deal with as Symmetra does because Winston doesnt suck hp as fast as Symmetra does and the range of her blood sucking beam seems to literally have a greater range than Winston's... this is just my opinion and what ive found to happen while playing
Im gonna disagree with tracer having the advantage against junkrat. As a junkrat main, I love facing tracer because I just throw my trap or throw my bomb to give myself distance and to fight back
Complete opposite... Reaper can burst her dead before she can icicle herself, and if she tries to freeze him, just Wrait Form the fuck out of there. I pick Reaper to deal with good Mei's...
As a reaper and Reinhardt main I don't think reaper is strong against Reinhardt since Reinhardt does huge damage at close distance just like reaper while having a charging ability that can instantly kill him. Also widow isn't strong against reaper due to the fact that reaper can easily close the distance by using strategic teleports and wraith form just my opinion.
I know I'm a little late and don't know if you'll see this comment, but how can two tracers synergise? I mean, isn't that impossible?, to have two of the same hero on the same team?!
Genji can't deflect (reflect?) Reinhardt's attacks? I'm pretty sure that is wrong. I know for a fact he can deflect the fire strike and I'm pretty sure he can deflect the melee attack as well. I thought he couldn't, I hammered him, I died. So unlessed I missed something...
No melee attacks can be reflected, that doesn't make any sense. Genji can only reflect projectiles. I don't know if he can reflect fire strike, maybe, but definitely not melee attacks.
Most likely what happened was, somebody else on your team shot at Genji while he was reflecting at the same time you hammered him, and he reflected their projectile back and hit you with it.
I actually found the answer, which is Genji's deflect can block mêlée attacks, though not send them back like a projectile. I can confirm he can send Rein's firestrike back. The only exception to mêlée attack he cannot block is... Genji's own ult.
w8 what? genji counter torb? lol... torb is a counter for flankers on defense and should'n be picket on attack! Genji + Tracer? are u crazy? do u want to complete fuck up your team comp and lose? Tracer + Tracer? omg again? Never run 2 flankers on the same team! Never! even being a jun video u should already know that b4 it was made...
Genji is not a counter of thorbjorn. In fact, flanking against a team with thorbjorn is a nightmare compared to any other hero.
Thorbjorn is a really good pick vs genji.
Torbjorn not thorbjorn
Alex Fernandez It's torbjorn of course no one can defeat the Swedish shimada
This is true because as a genji main its very hard to play against a good Torbjon who places his turret so that the only way to get to it would be to be within the range that the turret can lock on and shoot at him. Alex Fernandez You're full of shit, you probably play Torb and are just trying to make him sound good...
Or you just suck at Genji.
Genji can't counter Torb because of his Turrets fire rate.
I have alredy seen the first two episode, offense and defense, I am still waiting for the tanks and the support videos since the two videos before are really good.
Seagull is strong against every hero
PunchAkainu No he isn't... How about he kill me with a lucio while I'm a roadhog? Yup just hook him then shoot doesn't work so what you have 600 health, just keep hooking then shooting
President of the unazi states Ainsley it was a joke...
+President of the unazi states Ainsley nah, hell just simply run arround your hook then lead you to the end of the map and boop you off
President of the unazi states Ainsley You probably just play against shit Luci-ohs...
Did anyone get the reference?
President of the unazi states Ainsley Ever watched filthy franks's STFU?
TORB-YORN
IT'S TORB-YORN
"Discorb Orb"
Evan Huizenga Might as well call it "Discorb"
Torby-yorn

I dumpster a surprising about of players with a mercy pistol, people really underestimate that thing
Very interesting series my friend! I enjoyed it a lot ! Keep it coming!
I think you also forgot that Mei's ultimate goes well with pharah's ultimate.
NekonTek not as well as junkrat or 76
Every time he says torborn instead of torbjorn I cry
It’s crazy how much the game has changed since this video. I would LOVE love love to see an updated version of this. Sometimes it’s nice to be reminded of all of the basics like this.
Great content keep it up! Very helpful!

I love how you pronounce TORBORN xD Also, I'm actually swedish!
I know Sombra hasn't been out for very long, but will you add her to this video? Or at least make a video to make duels against her easier?
you didn't make a part 3??
Where is the last two parts ?
I think DVA is also a good counter to Pharah, she can use her shields to block rockets and her boosters to fly up and tackle Pharah out of the air. Would really like to see the Tanks and Supports get counter videos.

Uhhhh... 2:05 Although Genji can deflect Reinhardt's hammer swings, he can block them with his reflect ability.
Great video.
With solidiers buff, he can now pretty much chase a roadhog that had missed his hook.

Hey, where did the tank video go?
What Happened To The Tank And Support Counters And Synergies?
1:44 "Torborn..."
with genji you can parry reinhardt's hammer, you can also deflect his fiery ball thing
This is why i dont play Rein anymore. take the parry away from Genji and it would be a decent and needed nerf.
Poe NO!!! That is the most shittiest reason to quit rein
nice vid! always appreciate anyone willing to help me improve my game!

you going to add the new characters as well
Did comp allow multiple tracers at one point in time?
With the new patches its easy to kill rein as genji, you can block his hammer with deflect now and jump over his head so easily and around him
I don't think Soldier is weak against DVa. While I agree that a DVa rushdown can ruin an unsuspecting or low-health Soldier's day, Soldier emptying a clip into a distracted DVa's mech can cause major problems for her as well. As for 1V1 situations, it seems to me that he has plenty of options for dealing with her:

He can prevent damage from Reinhardt by deflecting and his fire strike can be used against him
1:44 torborn lolol
Tell me, can Genji deflect the almighty hook? I never tried it and before getting killed 10 times just to realize that it doesnt work isnt worth it
cragethGER he cant be hooked while deflecting but it wont fly back at roadhog
cragethGER if you are deflecting it bounces back and damages roadhog
yeah u can and sometimes it actually damages roadhog but sometimes it doesnt... idky that is but thats how it is. Im not going to complain just once i dont get hooked im all good
U can reflect Reinhardt hammer. It won't do any damage to Reinhardt but it won't do any damage to genji either.
Yep. You can also do that with Winston's Primal Rage Melee hits.
you can also do tracers bomb, meis frozen ord ult thing, phara rockets, hanzo arrow ult, symetra balls , and pretty much everything else that is shot/thrown
Mogeland Well of course, but the point is you can also reflect 2 of the melee attacks in the game, which is not expected.
J-Art But the point is that's not what he meant by you can't deflect this types of heroes. Winston he means his gun. Reinhardt his charge. Symmetra's beam gun.
Good job leaving out pharahs hardest counter, DVA
Mccree is great against pharah though??
he is. if he lands his shots she is gone
similaerily? 10:00
he can deflect rein his fire strike and his normal it wont deflect it will stop hammer
jayrobot zero8 this is before he could deflect rein
Albert Litman ohhh
oh please when I play solider I rip apart Reinhardts and D.Vas even up close
Great video.
You keep saying back and front line and I am not sure what you mean. I feel like a lot of people dont.
let me give u an example: back line is the heroes that stay back, like supports and snipers, while front line are the ones in the middle of the fight, such as offense and tank
Guild Wars 2 World vs World speak as far as I'm concerned. xD
Your Overwatch )
crzymn246 Winston has an aim assist, rendering tracers mobility abilities useless
Competitive skill level of 65
Where are the support and tank counters
Zarya Zarya Zarya...
What did we learn?
ZARYA OP
for me as a tracer main the strong and weak against are exact opposites except 76 he destroys me 60% of the time
I'm so sick of people saying Genji countering Torbjorn. No, he does not. FFS. And Tracer countering Lucio? Are you fking serious?
FFS FFS FFS!!!!
if you're new to this game and want to know more justs saying mcree hardcounters phara now :D
Wich heroes can counter Doomfist?
Pharah, Mcree
Mei
I'm a tracer main with a 5.0 KD and I can say comfortably after practice with her, she's an amazing counter to winston
The reason she is listed as weak to winston is because winston doesn't have to aim to hit her tiny hitbox, he just has to point in her general direction.
Soldier is strong against every hero
Can you make a vidio on how to get into gold league
Tracer can 1v1 tanks with her ultimate
y does no one like the reaper soldier combo I use it all the time and it is unbreakable
"torborn" no no no NO THATS NOT HIS NAME
i think pharah's biggest counter is the new bastion
do support heros, sure, they are countered by everyone, but there are some weaknesses to set ups, and there are a lot of synergies. so... get on it.
Blizzard highlighted a video to counter Symmetra, because people were so unused to seeing her break their meta, they started screaming nerf! :D
SeedlingNL what a bunch of noobs, thankfully, we have your overwatch to tell us how much better we are. i play ana and lucio mostly now.
i dont find that Winston gives Genji as much problems to deal with as Symmetra does because Winston doesnt suck hp as fast as Symmetra does and the range of her blood sucking beam seems to literally have a greater range than Winston's... this is just my opinion and what ive found to happen while playing
Roadhog doesn't need an asterisk against Tracer. A decent Roadhog can pretty much remove an enemy Tracer from the game. He's instant death to her.
But only if the roadhog can land a hook. That is why there is an asterisk.
Im gonna disagree with tracer having the advantage against junkrat. As a junkrat main, I love facing tracer because I just throw my trap or throw my bomb to give myself distance and to fight back
It's pronounced Tuur-bjoern, not Tor-born. As a swedish person i am Very TRIGGERED rn >:|
(The uu in Tuur is pronounced like the oo in the word ooze)
toor-bee-orn
Im sorry but this keeps bugging me. It TorbJJJorn.
Love the channel, keep up the great work!
Did he just say you can kill her like skit in the sky? ._.
It was "Skeet". It's the sport where you shoot disks in the air before they hit the ground.
genji is good against zen hes easy to hit and has no movement abilitys
Mei is Reapers worst enemy imo
Complete opposite... Reaper can burst her dead before she can icicle herself, and if she tries to freeze him, just Wrait Form the fuck out of there. I pick Reaper to deal with good Mei's...
nope, Reaper destroys Mei
He can deflect Reinhardt he can deflect melee
McCree cant take on pharah? hitscan says otherwise
One time as tacer i 1v1d a dva in a small room.. She ulted me and failed, and got in her mekka twice and i won... Lol
Tracer*
if reaper gets up to a platform the widow is on shes dead
As a reaper and Reinhardt main I don't think reaper is strong against Reinhardt since Reinhardt does huge damage at close distance just like reaper while having a charging ability that can instantly kill him. Also widow isn't strong against reaper due to the fact that reaper can easily close the distance by using strategic teleports and wraith form just my opinion.
I know I'm a little late and don't know if you'll see this comment, but how can two tracers synergise? I mean, isn't that impossible?, to have two of the same hero on the same team?!
back when the game was out you could play 6 tracers if u wanted
Torborn
Why would I like it would make other people will know
Bit outdated?
"Torborn"
"Fairuh"
torborn? xd
so every one was agree that mcree is countered by phara?well.... i dont know what to say
It’s the opposite pharah is countered by mcree lol
sombra....
And now soldier is more than average
As tracer I enjoy harassing reinhardts
torborn
lol I'ma year late but Pharah ftw
squishy so squishy
Torborn...
Hah.
Then your on console
Torborn 😭😂
11:33 noob
w8 what? genji counter torb? lol... torb is a counter for flankers on defense and should'n be picket on attack!
Genji + Tracer? are u crazy? do u want to complete fuck up your team comp and lose?
Tracer + Tracer? omg again?
Never run 2 flankers on the same team! Never!
even being a jun video u should already know that b4 it was made...
Vitor Leão it's called a dive comp, and usually consists of high mobility heroes that dive into the enemies deathball
Vitor Leão your stupid dive comps are used even at pro tornuments
