Thanks bud, I'm glad you enjoy it! Lots more content coming in 2020 so I appreciate your support. Check out the Sunday show called "The 1up Weekly" if you get a chance as well. We cover all things retro, not just video games.
Hey, Ralph glad you checked it out. That’s the new trend now. Lol. There is another vertical add on pack for Arcadia 4 that has about an additional 180 more games that you can add to the original Arcadia vertical 4. Bringing the total to 411 games. You can find those on Discord.
Yes please do more CoinOPS, also take a look at the CoinOPS Pinball , I downloaded and it’s really nice. Would love to see if you can setup in pinball cab with play field and backglass
I saw the image on punks 2 weeks ago. I have a couple bartops in my scrap’yard. I may use this image for one of them. Im glad you reviewed it or I probably would not have been interested. Thanks Ralph!
Oh man, this is SWEET! Makes me want to have a second TV permanently mounted in vertical mode. Maybe that's what I'll do with my current 2K TV once I buy a 4K.
While I'm a LaunchBox/BigBox kind of dude, I always like checking out the competition and seeing what else is out there. HyperSpin is still pretty badass, but it definitely has a steep learning curve compared to some of the other front ends available.
Thanks RetroRalph!! I would love to see more of Virtual Pinball info. I now have 8 Arcade1up cabs, cocktail table, and several mods using Pi images. I would love to add some VP machines to existing, or new cabs from Rec Room Masters. (This vertical looks pretty good). I have about tons of used computers ready for VP machines... (I was in computer hardware business until few years ago) All this started by watching one of your early Arcade1up video!! Thanks dude!!
I’ve been wanting to do a CoinOps build sooo bad! I think this just sealed the deal for me. I have several PCs to do a build like this and the front end is really nice
Dude, thanks for this! I wasn't aware of this at all... I have a fairly new vertical arcade setup with BigBox on it, but it's only 1 vertical theme is not that great. This looks simple and perfect!
Yes, please more coin ops stuff. Tutorials on how to add bezel artwork and how to setup controls please. Also if you can find a good hyperspin setup for an nvidia shield that would be a great video also.
For Vert Cab best to run RasPi running MrBurns 800 in 1 Arcade Only with Attract Mode Or change to Horizontal with borders for other games and consoles
I’ve been aware of the Xtention cabs for a few years, but the appeal of the build and play of the arcade 1ups have been a better option for me, because I don’t want the extra work that these require. However, I am starting to run out of space for 1ups and some of these all in one are starting to look like like my only hope for additional cabinets, I only have space left for like maybe two 1ups if I get creative. So I’ve been leaning towards something like this, to round out the game area. I’d like to see more on this, if you can do a video that’s one of these cabs and the least amount of extras and work, with decent hardware and a monitor for around 800 give or take, I would be very interested in that video. Maybe like a two part, part 1 all the crap you’ll need then part two how to piece it all together, that would be fantastic. I’m sure the cabs come with their own build instructions so that can be left out. Thanks for all the great content.
ETA Prime did a review on the Jr. Arcade Cabinet, it's a very good base if your not great with wood and powertools. But the Monitor is not included, so you have to keep that in mind pricewise.
I have been using Coinops for years! I have several different builds on my modded xboxes....There is Coinops 8 Massive, Premium 8, Coinops Ninja! I was wondering why U had never talked about it? It's all the same except the Newer PC Versions are Super Clean, better FPS, all the choppy games were scrapped. I love it! I have sold many to friends and family and everyone loves them! What makes it Special at my house is I have all the Arcade Sticks for my Original Xboxes. I use the STREET FIGHTER ANNIVERSARY STICK that has the dual dongle for both xbox & PS2 most of the time. I have the Pelican Universal Stick with 3 dongles including Xbox, PS2, and Gamecube. I have been collecting console arcade Sticks for years and OG Xbox was what I had collected most for. Gamester Radica, Nuby, Rare Hori, all of them! Finding Coinops in 2015 changed everything.....No more just playing The Sega Genesis Collection or the Namco Museum disc, or the Capcom Classics 1 & 2 Compilations, or the Midway Comps....I have all of them now and so much more!
I am done with the Pis. Just no power to them. Using OfferUp I was able to get a 3.2ghz i5 with 8gb RAM with a monitor, keyboard and mouse for $75. This deals are out there. Just built a Game Room Solutions 3/4 Cab and it has the PC in it. Can run Launchbox/Big Box as well as any coin ops packs. A PC is the way to go. It would be great to see you cover CoinOps in great detail.
RRM says they have discontinued this cabinet (and all their 3/4 scale cabinets). Really a shame, there is nothing else like this out there! Their other vertical cabinet looks nothing like this, a totally different aesthetic, and it's twice the price. Hopefully they will reconsider and perhaps offer a full-size version, as I'm not a big fan of 3/4 scale anyway.
Excellent video Ralph, I love Coinops, I have been using it since Original Xbox, which I still have running Coinops Ninja. I have installed Coinops Next on my gaming PC (High end specs), and it is awesome. I have installed a bunch of packs (Atari, Coleco, Naomi, etc.). Most work fine, but I cannot get the Popcap games or the Wii U ones to launch. The menu and games show on the list, but when you try to launch them, the screen goes blank for 2 seconds and then comes back to the game list, instead of launching the game. The Popcap games is not that important to me, but I would love to play Zelda on the Wii U. If you could help with that or cover it in your upcoming video, that would be great!
Ralph can you explain how you can add the add-ons for CoinOps to the CoinOps Next frontend? Also, different issue what if you are experiencing issues with the button mapping for the atgames legend Bluetooth with the retro pie build?
I just thought about this after your show. Could you put this image in a cocktail cabinet and have the split screen option for when it's two player? Bro that would be sick🤯🤯
Thanks for the video for coinops but I think I’m missing something. I have tried to download coinops on arcade punks but when I do it asks me if I want to open or save the file. I have tried both and nothing happens. Any suggestions would be great!
Hey man love your videos is there a way you can share what rom sets you use and how you run your games so well because it seems like you dont have any issues running games thanx if possible
Thank you. What is the minimum Specs for this. Want to know if I can Reuse my old Laptop for this. Do I need a fat graphic card? Maybe one of those 99€ ebay Dell PCs are enough for this .... but with Pinball Arcade! Great Video. Makes me go back to those Arcade Punks images again...
How can I change the rotation? Mine is the opposite 90° I would like to switch it to 270° just like yours ...my monitor mount only rotates to the right .. so my screen is upside down ...help please!!
can someone explain the difference between coinops arcadia 4 and 6 ? then between gems vs plus vs stock etc ? it looks confusing...what would be the one that "has it all" ?
If anyone is interested in more examples of the vertical format, I do a lot of overlays specifically for this format on Retroarch. You can find my work here: forums.libretro.com/t/new-4k-bezel-overlays/25247/235
Ralph, I bought a 24" LED mtr and plan to mod an arcade 1UP similar to you cab. I have downloaded Arcadia 4 vertical, can you add pinball or any of the Next or Arcadia packs to this buiid? It seems to be the only one in vertical?
Shame that rec room masters stopped selling the alphacade series. I was literally going to by a vertical set up this month. No way can i drop 1k on the full sized vertical.
I wonder if they're just discontinuing the units with the red yellow blue color scheme and refreshing them. It wouldn't shock me if we see it re-released. 1k does seem a little steep for the full sized unit.
Coinops vertical can also play pinball. Additonally you could have also use pinball x for pinball and mame vertical games but hands down conops is the best. A newer vertical is in the works also it might incorporate pinball. If you want to add pinbal to current coinops vertical you can do like I did and edit the favorite.txt in the playlist(collections directory) take out all the existing games and put _PinballArcade:* and under it in another line put _Pinball FX2(or3) :* just add the pinball packs used for next but add a pinballarcade.sub and pinball fx2(or 3).sub and you should be good now all your pinball games will show up in one menu.
F... we turned the windows Desktop to play Pinball FX3 well, and this Coinops turns back so we lead to a bad screen orientation due to a turn+turn :( what a good idea anyway
Wally Billy I’m not sure I know what you’re saying. You can rotate the orientation in cabinet mode. You have to request a license key from them (it’s free of charge) go to the cabinet icon on FX3 and it will make sense.
@@RetroRalph ok i try to explain :) we have turn Windows Desktop to 1080x1920 (vertical) which works well. Then within that vertical thing, we had a coinOps stuff that worked not that bas when removing bezels and overload stuff. I was expecting that "vertical coinops" thing to solve the remaining bugs, but it turns everything 90° so we are having a 1080x1920 windows 10 layout, with a 90° coinops, that makes things come back to zero... not easy explain :)
CoinOp's, LaunchBox, Hyperspin most Front-Ends all the same to me, why because they play the same roms/games in the end My first Mame Cab 20+ years ago still run's MameUi32
Way to drop the ball. Or maybe you're just selfish and waited until it wasn't around for anyone else (due to lack of you spreading the word in time) on purpose
Ahriman S They started making them again: www.recroommasters.com/Xtension-Alpha-Cade-3-4-Scale-Vertical-Arcade-p/rm-xt-alpha-vert.htm Your comment of me purposely waiting is silly. I have many projects going on at a time and this was purchased with my own money, I had no idea they would have stopped production. Quality of the cabinet looks nice, awesome build indeed 😁
Yes. I like how easy it is. I love the setup that you just did today.
