1:38 - When I volunteered at the zoo back in 2006 I was working at the farm animal section and sure enough Steve drove up on that bike with Bindi and Robert to check out the animals for a few minutes. It was early morning and the zoo wasn't open yet so almost nobody was around. It was so surreal. Just lucky timing and so cool to see them in person. :D

This is proof in my mind that some passions are in our genetics. Robert is so much like Steve when it comes to animals. I know he was raised with it, but you can truly tell its in his heart too. I also love how much this channel and the zoo still pay homage to Steve all these years later. He was a special man and his family haas really continued his cause so well.
Carpet pythons are quite feisty as babies. Imagine, when you're a noodle with a head the world's a scary place, but when you're a small noodle with a head in Australia, the world's even scarier.

Can’t wait until Robert has a show of his own just like Steve had. Kids now need a guy like Steve to inspire them. I have vivid memories of watching him as young as three. He made such an impact on me. I hope Robert can be that for kids now and generations to come.

Second, Robert does indeed look a lot like Steve. But maybe I’ve been watching too many Crocodile Hunter episodes because the “Agh!” sound that Robert makes when the babies nip at him sounds EXACTLY Steve!! Of all things, that was the part that brought dewdrops to my eye. 🥲
