    My daughter picked one up 3-4 years ago for doing good in school & it’s huge now. Truthfully it wasn’t a plant I would have picked out but it’s grown on me. So now we have a couple more lol

    Tip: to clean the nooks and crannies in a plant, use a fluffy eyeshadow brush.

    I’m so glad argyraues is a little tough for others too. I’m not the only one! I have never (until this vid ) seen anyone mention argyraues being labeled as temperamental. It’s always top 5 easy low light ignore it houseplant that will grow like crazy. That is not the case (for mine!) Exotica on the other hand is wonderful. It grows much faster than it though for such a big leaf plant

    • @thepetiteplant
      @thepetiteplant  3 роки тому +2

      It’s definitely finicky for sure. Exotica has always just been so much hardier in most cases🤷‍♀️

      I agree. My 1st one was an Argyreus and it grew leggy an bald at the top. Leaves yellowing for no apparent reason. Than I met Exotica and it was a whole different story.

      @@rhodealexandre6583 I also still have issues with yellow leaves. I’m pretty sure it’s a watering issue, but every one says to let it get curly and bone dry then water. When I do that I still lose leaves bc under watering. I’m just going to leave it to do it’s thing lol

      @@Tamagotchi321 sometimes for the life of me, I cannot figure out what is wrong. Maybe I should water when it is 80 to 90% dry? Now I remember I got less yellow leaves during Winter when my humidifier is running. Maybe they require more humidity than expected

    Excellent video! Many thanks for your tips and information. These plants are so beautiful! Mine have grown well but I do agree with you on how each one differs regarding their rate of growth. Your video was very enjoyable! 👏🌿🥰💚

    I bought a large scindapsus exotica off Etsy about a month ago and ever since I received it the leaves have not straightened out even under optimal conditions, I may repot soon to see if that helps

    • @thepetiteplant
      @thepetiteplant  3 роки тому

      Maybe give it more time to adjust! If the solid isn’t dry or anything I doubt it needs watering. And if the roots aren’t too root bound I’d hold off on repotting as well

    I have a silver anne and I love it. I'm trying to propagate it to make it fuller but it's taking a long time for the cuttings to pop roots in water 😢 trying sphagnum moss now 🤞

    • @thepetiteplant
      @thepetiteplant  3 роки тому

      Loads of people have good luck with moss props when they water ones don’t work out so I’m sure that will work! Just takes patience for the roots sometimes haha

    What do you mean you can pronounce "argyraeus"? It does not have any sound not found in English.

    Mine keeps getting yellow leaves and I haven't even watered it

    • @thepetiteplant
      @thepetiteplant  2 роки тому

      If it’s the oldest leaves yellowing, that could just be the natural life cycle. Plants also can drop leaves when they’re adjusting to a new space. Otherwise, I’d check the roots if your plant keeps dropping leaves
