Italy's team win archery gold in the men's team event as the USA take silver.
Full coverage from the Lord's Cricket Ground at the London 2012 Olympic Games (28 July).
Archery first appeared in the Olympic Games in 1900, was contested again in 1904, 1908 and 1920, then again, after an absence of 52 years, from 1972 to the present. The most decorated archer in Olympic history is Hubert Van Innis of Belgium who competed in 1900 and 1920, winning six gold and three silver medals.

Anchor points change just a bit with these guys. What most people don't understand, is that with recurves ( I shoot one myself) it's... more difficult than what's called a compound. Your pulling back on all that weight without a lead-off. Having clean anchor points, and not rushing their shots is what gets the gold.

i agree with you that in the long run recurves take more time to develop technique, but at the very start compounds are just more complicated if you've never shot a bow. Most people see a recurve and instantly know what to do, where as with compounds people have to figure out how let off works and feels.
