Love will make a jealous man do some silly things and regret it later. Garland I will never stop playing this song. I was just a small child being raised upstairs over the Jukebox when I first heard it and at 58 years of age, I must have heard and played it over 10,000 times. LOVE THIS SONG...
love this song. reminds me of my mom and dad. They played this all the time. They loved the hell out of each other but had volatile personalities. Jealous.
As a White "boy" (age 70) I listened to this R&B/Soul music in the 60's and 70's. Loved it. Like others have said in here, they just don't make sounds like they used to. Garland Green was at the forefront of what ultimately became the" Philly Sound". Today he is still cranking 'em out. In 2011 Green signed a deal for a brand new album with Special Soul Music; his first album of new material in 29 years. It was released in 2012.
I'm a Philly boy, too, and we as a whole being from the same area have a fond memory of the music we grew up with. Being from Philly I'm certain you remember the Jerry Blavat show and even Georgie Woods. It was an era of music that defined our generation!
Typical comment. People will say the same in 50 years with the music of today. History repeats itself. Humans forget every 80 years. I wonder what happend 80 years ago hmm?

if a man now days expresses himself this way he is considered soft, that's a shame because i strongly believe that if we look back at the old times we'll sure to learn something from the old heads. They spoke how they felt.
This song reminds me of my Jr high School days I truly miss all of my high school friends some pass and gone and bring tears to my eyes sometime those was the good old days smile and we had some good parents and teachers and students and neighborhood
WoW!! What a Great Oldie, Garland Green did his thing with the Lyrics, the Harmonic (bg) Vocals and the arrangement of instruments, those were the day's , 😃Although I was a 'teeny-tiny-person' then, and Now at 54' I've become Eceletic with Music but still Love my Oldies such as this one by Garland Green, Thanks for posting!
The music back in the sixties and seventies to me were the best. There was soul , inspiration, feel good, love songs, heart break songs and songs about what was happening on the world. The songs had meaning and one could always find a song or to that they could relate.
Like Shirley, I added this oldie to my play list because I haven't heard it on the radio, why? Because jealousy now leads to killing (sad)...but a great feel good song

Lillie Mae Missionary Baptist Church sat in the middle of all of those juke joints... people would go to church... then many of them would go straight to the juke joints afterwards to "get their heads bad" (get drunk).... but, I was too young to get drunk... I just watched them. A lot of the people would fight over the weekend, then ride to work together the next week like nothing happened.... it was wild ! The juke joints are gone now, but the church is still there.
