- We had another somewhat long journey to reach Robertson, but it was a delightful drive, especially with the beautiful sunrise and scenic views along the way. Arriving in Robertson was thrilling, as our first stop was at the old station where we saw the impressive New Cape Central Railway operation, which includes a stunning steam engine and coaches that visit some of the local wine farms. We then grabbed some coffee to kickstart our exploration. The churches and old buildings were very beautiful and our visit to the museum provided a rich background on the history of Robertson. To conclude our trip, we stopped off at Birds Paradise. Robertson has so much to offer, it was a wonderful experience. #DustBugs #dustbugstravel #adventuretravel #southafrica #southafricavlog #travelongravel #westerncape #robertson

That Church was absolutely magnificent inside and out and I enjoyed Birds Paradise. Loved all the greetings to Curtis from the birds. Beautiful trees in different colors and vegetation stunning. Thanks once again, be safe on the road.❤
Hi you two! Thank for taking me on this exploration. The town is so beautiful and neat and that old DRC is amazing. The Bird Paradise is very aptly named a paradise and uniquely interesting with Curtis chatting with the parrots. I'm ready for the next trip.
Keep safe on the roads!
The roads in the western cape are such a pleasure to drive
What a nice pretty clean town. All over it is well looked after and maintained.. churches are stunning and well kept. I love th trees wherever you drive. Suppose the wine industry keeps the wheels of the town turning. Thank you a trip well done. Next one i am there!
A most impressive town with beautiful tree-lined streets and manicured lawns. I couldn't spot a single piece of litter, nor a single pothole! What really caught my attention (besides the beauty of the DR church itself) was the phenomenal craftsmanship of the woodwork/carpentry contained within the church. The superb locomotive "Amanda" and the coaches on a functional train track was an awesome find. Thank you.
Daai voels het jou te mooi gegroet.
Wow what a lovely place. That avenue of trees was awesome 🎉 THE BIRDS SO BEAUTIFUL!! Thank you for the trip. Take care ❤
Nice one! I am the co-owner of the class 24 3632 "Amanda". Ian Welch from New Zealand is the other co-owner and full owner of the 19D that is also there.
What's the guess that the steam engine was named after that famous song "Amanda love of my life " sung by the big Texan Don Williams. I am only about 1 and a half hours drive from the Kingston Flyer.
@14CRB2010 What a proud co-owner you must be of that magnificent beast! 😍🚂 It was just fantastic happening upon it that day!
@@tonynz9954 named after my other half
@@14CRB2010 Have you ever sung that song "AMANDA " by Don Williams , to your other half ?
Hi guys another awesome video loveed all the history and the museum was so interesting with the wagon building tools the Barry's had alot to with the town my mother in law was a Barry it's a very popular name in Cork in Ireland 🇮🇪 great to see the railway working for wine tours. I moved to Cambodia recently for a teaching job and I've binge watched these episodes to cure my homesickness. Thank you
The same here, I moved to Vietnam in December last year and I am ever so grateful I discovered this channel ❤️ I am however moving back to SA next month, I just simply miss our beautiful country and people way too much ❤🇿🇦
My tuis dorp, julle is so welkom. Daar is nog baie om te sien.
Captown is really beautiful, it look like a posh city of USA.
Had my eyes *glued* to the screen enjoying the old stomping ground of relatives. Wouldn't you know you *stopped filming* 1:04:00 just before the white truck parked on the street on the left .. old family home 💕(looks like a big white painted cement wall has now been put up there🥺- hopefully the garden is still as gorgeous🌹🌼🪴🌳). Thank you for all the refreshed memories
I'm always happy to hear we rekindle happy and special memories. Thank you for coming back to Robertson with the two of us. 🚙😊

Hi Sonia and Curtis, Thank you for another wonderful trip. I loved the big church you visited and the beautiful music you played. All in all the town was amazing. Take care and travel safe. I look forward to the next episode! ❤
Robertson is a place Roger and I visited quite frequently. We would also visit Ashton's Platform 62 for lunch and a glass of wine. Then go through to Montague. Didn't take you long to find a station, and what a beautiful one. Nice to know it still is used. Robertson station is amazing. Feel right at home there with all that wine around. Lovely steam locomotives. Love the tree lined streets and old buildings.
Thank you!!! 🥰
Baie dankie vriende.
We have the Cleaning Hub Laundry and Cleaning Service in Robertson, Voortrekker Road. We are blessed to live in a beautiful town like this. Thank you for sharing your experience of our town.
Back in the wine area again...Oh that NCCR is very interesting. I have been to Robertson quite a few times and I just love the place. The Wacky Wine Festival is normally in June every year but I have not seen the announcement for it for this year. What a beautiful garden at the museum..wow.
Beautiful episode, thank you Curtis ,Sonja & Dusty, Sonja did Curtis get some of your leftovers? 🚗😅
Nope, I had my own leftovers the evening before already! I couldn't wait until the next morning! 😁
I'm so excited to see this town again. I just love this place. The streets lined with gorgeous old trees. An absolute joy.
Loved all the colorful birds even though I'm not a fan of caged anything. I just think that swan looked so blerry sad man 😢 onwards we go....give dusty a hug from me ❤🎉❤. I'm not moving off the back seat...where we going next? Hello hello heellooo
Dusty was super excited about your hug! 🧸😍 Im glad you enjoyed Robertson. Our next destination is also in the Western Cape, that's all I'll say! 🚙😁
I SO ENJOYED THE VISIT TO ROBERTSON. SHE IS RIGHT ON MY DOORSTEP AND THANX TO YOU I HAVE LEARNT SUCH ALOT OF THE TOWN AND I HAVE BEEN THERE QUITE A FEW TIMES. YOU MAKE US AWATE, THANKU TO THE BOTH OF YOU. CURTIS, IT SOUNDS AS IF U ARE MARRIED TO A LOVELY LADY AS YOU ARE ALSO. GREETINGS FROM BREDASDORP. YOU ARE TOPS.
Robertson inwoners kan trots wees op hul pragtige dorp. Die ou geboue, besonderse kerke, bome, en tuine (en paaie) is iets om op trots te wees. Welgedaan 👏👏
Great vlog guys. Sonja I was wondering if there is a way fix your mobility, it worries that you are left behind..😊😊😊😊😊
Agree with you ❤😃🙌
Sonia addresses this topic herself in Episode 480. 🥰You should both watch it and hopefully you are put at ease once and for all.
@@DustBugsTravel Thank you Curtis and Sonja.. your answers were most informative.. thanks to both of you.. much respect and thank you sooo much for taking us along with you and everytime Sonja's giggling.. I always giggling along with her.. absolutely great channel.. Much love and Blessings to both of you 🌷🌺🌹🌼🌻💖🙌🙌🙌
I’ve got a feeling there’s another train trip in the future for Curtis & Sonia………
Wow, I never knew there's so much to see in Robertson! That museum's very interesting, but I wonder how many people would know it's still operating if both of you thought it closed down (from the footage shown it really looks closed from the outside)! I never knew that there was 1 min oats back in the days. When I looked up the history of Quacker oats, it showed that their 1st 1 min oats entered the market in 1922! Amazing that those parrots in the bird sanctuary can speak both Afrikaans and English! Wonderful that you managed to get into the church! I couldn't see clearly, but it looks like they still have Dutch writing on the interior, or am I mistaken?
It's very easy to make the mistake to think that the museum is closed and I'm sure that contributes to the fact that they don't get that many visitors. There was definitely Dutch writing inside the church. I remember seeing it on the curved section above the pulpit. 💒
get thermal mugs and get them to fill it
I'm staying 1 month in Cape Town soon. I intend to visit Robertson by automobile for a day.. So, so far I want to visit Hermanus, Paarl, Stellenbosch, Langebaan, and Robertson.. Any other suggestions?
We have a video on our channel of each of those towns for you to enjoy. Furthermore, you're welcome to check out the places and experiences in and around the Cape Town area in Episodes 444 to 457 and Episodes 524 to 540. Enjoy your stay in the beautiful Mother City! ⛰️🚙
Just curious to know why we never get to see Sonja
She doesn’t like to be filmed.
@joandaniel Sonia answers this question in Episode 480. 🥰
you have to fuel Curtis
Get them to fill up you themes flask
Time to explain to her the facts about the birds and the llamas.
I assume you're referring to my wife, Sonia. She had Biology at school, but these two llamas don't fall in the lesson you're referring to. 🦙
