I must say it sounds better without the post processing from the mixer.
If I hadn’t already ordered an sm7b, I would have bought one of these. They seem to be almost as good as the electro voice ones.
Bought one a couple of years ago but it seemed unusably noisy. Contacted Rode who arranged a repair and I love it. I use a fethead, dbx286 and audient id22. I worked in broadcast for twenty years and have other mics, but for speech, podcast, etc it's an excellent choice.
Ive read and watched many reviews on this sweet girl..built like a take, excellent sound, 10 year warranty; I'M PULLING THE TRIGGER, BUYING HER...FOR THE PRICE, YOU CANNOT GO WRONG!!!!
Very good crack!!!!.
I have the Shure SM7B and the Rode PROCASTER at home. And I'm trying them out and I like how they both sound and I have serious doubts which one to stay with.... Any advice?
Greetings and thanks.
I just bought one, it’s a fantastic mic! I use it with the Rode Caster Pro, love it!
Would this mixer works well with a cheap mixer? Like 40$ one
You're like a one stop shop for everything I've been wondering about streaming/content creation. Thank you very much for your professional and no nonsense videos!
Thanks for the vid, yea current prices on these mics atm feels like a steal.
Hello, can you help me? I have Rode Procaster and Behringer Umc22. But i have environmental noise like PC's fan and my voice is muffled. What should i do? I want most clear voice.
Nowadays im looking to "Triton Audio FetHead". But i think my audio interface is bad. Should i buy mixer or audio interface or fethead? I have a few models on my mind. Scarlett 2i2 or Behringer XENYX Q802USB. I will use only microphone so i dont need more channels.
Id recommend investing in a dbx 286s, it has effects that can reduce background noise such as expander gates, and the compressor and eq will make your voice more full
Are you speaking into the side of the mic? The Procaster is an end-address mic, so you should be talking into the end.
Great video. Super helpful stuff!! Did you have to add a cloud lifter or is your setup straight into the podcaster pro? I'd consider this setup if no cloud lifter is needed. Thanks!
I do not use a cloud lifter, just straight into the mixer!
Hey man bought the mic and the mixer - I love it so far! I am having trouble getting the levels to pick up optimally in OBS, for example I feel like I have channel 1 cranked to high and the levels at 35 and it does produce some static at that point, working through it, still new to this stuff but it's been a great experience so far.
Love this setup, was originally going to go with the goxlr but forked up the extra cash for the full Rhode setup and it's amazing.
Excellent & very informative review!!! Great job...sounds close to an EV RE20, for bout less than half the price; no eq switch ,but its real easy to add or subtract several DB"S of bass, low mid, upper mids, toss on some subtle compression & limiting...yeah, you get damn close to a sweet RE 20!!!!
i would invest in one of those mic-specific pop filters. a windscreen is less reliable when it comes to that stuff unless its super dense.
Hello! I'm using rode procaster with scarlett 212 gen3 but the volume is low and underwhelming when streaming. What do you think is the issue? Thank you.
you need a cloudlifter to boost the volume
2:35 if you buy a foam windscreen for the SM58, you can cut the top off and put it in the screw on cap of the Procaster.
You get way better highs that way and the plosives are similar to the big windscreen shown in the video.
If you are into broadcasting and want to practically kiss the mic, if you do the SM58 windscreen + the Rode windscreen, you can practically blow in it.
Great video. I have the Procaster and official accoutrements (boom arm, shock mount, windscreen) going into my Rodecaster Pro through a Cloudlifter. I love the sound. I do think a Cloudlifter makes a positive difference, so I would recommend.
Awesome video Awall, I'm considering XLR than USB mic.
Hey Awall, great video! Question would the goxlr mini be an ok starter audio interface with this mic? I dont really have the budget for rodecaster pro, and if possible I would love to see a comparison between the go XLR and the rodecaster pro.
Goxlr is better for streaming. Rodecaster better for multi mic podcasting/broadcasting.
GOOD BYE AKG HELLO RODE RODE WILL BE REPLACING YOU FOR NOW ON lol you convinced me to switch to rode amazing video man
The mic does NOT have an "official mixer". The "presets" in your rode mixer are..... marketing rubbish.
Damn this is shit with just the mic!!! Wasted my money! It requires an expensive ass interface to work properly damn!
Dang... too bad this video is on april first... I guess the rode procaster really isn’t the best XLR mic for the money.
did you use a cloudlifter in this video?
How about pairing the mic with rode Ai-1 audio interface, will it work well? The Rodecaster Pro is a bit expensive.
Thank you for the amazing video.
I just ordered the Procaster + the GoXLR Interface for Broadcasting.
Your mixer settings sound awesome, do you have any information how the setting in the equalizer are on these?
When I use the ProCaster, sometimes when I speak, the audio recording disappears or fading, maybe is it because of the setting or the position of my mouth?
Which mixer are you using?
great video thanks for the info . will definitely will check this setup out and might have questions for using this on a dual pc streamsetup
Great video. Thanks. I bought a procaster yesterday and right now wait for the Focusrite scarlett solo to be delivered to me. Is it enough? Do I need a cloudlifter? All I need from procaster is a quality streaming audio experience. Cheers.
No cloud lifter needed
@@awalldigital Cheers Mater. I didnot order the cloud, but i ordered a fethead. Please make more videos when convenient. You guys are deciding what consumers buy. Thanks again!
@@guotao1968 did it work out well? Are you happy with the sound? I'm actually thinking of getting a similar setup as yours
@@guotao1968 how was the sounds with the scarlet solo? Did you need a cloudlifter?
Hello sir, I see you used Rode WS2 Microphone Pop Filter. Does Rode WS2 reduce plosives better? I have RODE ProCaster but face plosives issue. Thanks
That can Is good ! And the rode caster PRO is great 👍🏽
am I the only guy hear a lot of sibilance?
A great alternative to the Rodecaster mixer will be the scarlet solo 3rd gen and a dbx 286s. This combo on amazon will roughly save you $200 roughly if you just cant inch that bit of money for the Rodecaster Pro
I have a Scarlett Solo, and it’s ok, not good. Compatibility issues and no processing are major downsides, especially for streamers.
@@awalldigital what issues were you having with the Scarlett Solo? That's so weird, I've tested the 2nd and 3rd gen and they've been amazing but again, that's strictly my experience anyways. My current audio chain is the Rode Procaster to a DBX286s and a Yamaha MG12(NON XU, I don't need the FX strip really) and I am loving it. Does the Rodecaster Pro have software output/input routing like the GOXLR? I personally would love it if they revised the Rodecaster Pro and include TRS Main Mix output and dedicated AUX Send.
Paid promotional video..
Do you think it’s better than the mv7 with a cloud lifter and goxlr
About the same TBH
Had it for over a year
Hi....I've just bought the Procaster. I have a DJ 808 mixer and a Focusrite and I'm a bit lost on how to connect it. Using OBS for streming. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.
Can you change your voice with the mixer? Like how streamers can sound like darth Vader or Elmo? Lol
Great video 👍🏽
What would you recommend between the Rode Procaster and Shure MV7?
Is this ok for music vocals..im torn between this and the nt1? I have an untreated room and I'm trying to get something for mainly rapping and singing. Thanks!
Why is the Rode Procaster so much better than say, just the Rode Podmic?
For me it boils down to the quality of audio. The Rode Procaster is the big brother and therefore a little more pricey because of that difference in audio delivery which delivers a much smoother, warmer tone which is more pleasing to the ear as well as more versatile overall. With the Rode Podmic, it is a cheaper solution for those would need to buy more than 1 mic for a broadcast or on a tighter budget. Hope this helps you
@@awalldigital Awesome...thank you
Dose the shock mount come with the mic?
Nope :(
This mic is the closest mic to a ribbon sound, You will ever get i don't know if i wanna part with it.
Hi, I use this mic with native instruments komplete audio 1 but is getting alot of noise around me, how I can set it to sound like yours or atlist almost like yours??
Rode caster pro mixer
Do you use a preamp with this mic?
i want a mic that does great sound isolation but for less money

First? 🧐🧐
does cloudlifter is a must for this ?
do you use it or not?
I use this with a Cloudlifter on a Rodecaster pro and it's amazing
Hang ten distance lol
It’s an easy way to think about it.
