I agree - This Incognito/Red combo is simply stunning and not one I would have expected to work on paper, but in real life...wow! Would prefer the dark Enkei wheels over the BBS wheel however
I like how this video is done! The silence, high quality footage, and direction are great. Too often there is annoying discussions about nothing. Beautiful car, I have a 300 in this generation and look forward to possibly upgrading to a 500 someday soon. This car badly needs a performance exhaust right out of the gate. I understand why Lexus does not as they are a luxury and comfort brand, but there should be an option for the IS lineup and especially for the 500. There is a lot of power behind that motor and it should be showcased. Ford and Dodge are smart about this now and offer a great sound on their V8s.
i have the 350 f sport and i thrash that car really hard. all day long i rag it out. i had to change brake fluid and tires at 8,000 miles. I have to say, the car still runs like the day i got it and has never been fussy and never once given me an issue.
physical buttons are still better and practical. than a whole bunch of touch sensitive buttons or full touch screen center console. this would definitely last longer, reliable and age gracefully.
Have you seen the new GX or RX Lexus interiors? They look 10x better than this. Its not like this is a cheap car either cause at this price point, its needs to be updated.
If you’re a car guy, you’ll emphasize the tech aspect, the engine , its performance. The rest are just niceties, comfort, gizmos in our digital soroundings
The only thing I don't like in the interior is the speaker grills in the doors are just red plastic and look so cheap. If the bottom door panels were black that would help- too much red.
It doesn't bug me much that the door panels are also red (I own one of these), but I 100% agree the speaker grilles shouldn't also be red. They should have made them a black insert at least. I'm willing to put up with it for the rest of the red interior though.

Yes and no. The big drawback of the AWD IS, like the 300 I have currently, is that there is a huge bump on the driver's side floor to make room for the AWD. The bump is very uncomfortable. The 500 does not have the bump and is much more comfortable. If they bring an AWD to the 500 you would see a massive weight increase and they would need to adjust for that bump, or should anyway. The RWD is fine if you get a set of winter tires and a set of summer tires, and are realistic about the car's capabilities.
I seriously considered this as it is sharp looking and packs a punch . But with my Current Gs f Sport Blackine for day to day. In just placed an order of a C8 Corvette for the fun car
The only thing holding me back...is that I live in southern Wisconsin 😬 Idk if having winter tires would be enough to get me through the winters..ugh. Hell I might still do it anyway 😅
Still deciding between the IS 350 and IS 500. The IS 500 looks more aggressive, sounds better, has more power, but has the worst MPG of the two; its also not a AWD which I would want. The IS 350 comes in AWD, has better MPG, more affordable. indecisiveness is the only thing I have to overcome at this point.
I'd give this car a 4.5/5 stars. The onlh knocks I habe are no HUD display, and the rear seats should be at least heated. My 2016 civic touring has heated rear seats. Sure the interior is outdated, but the lack of a HUD in a sports sedan is criminal. Lexus has tons of HUDs in other models, so it's weird they didn't put one in the 500. If it had an HUD, I'd say it's darn near perfect.
Why do I only see the premium versions and never the base model in video reviews?. It’s like a $5000 difference for an extra light bulb in the headlights extra speakers and a 2 inch bigger screen🤷🏻♂️ and with that extra $5000 you’d be saving you could put it into a better cat-back exhaust system and a sound system upgrade for less than $5000
I love these cars, but I am disproportionately turned off by the analog clock. It’s not a Rolls. I would have to cover it with black plastic or a happy face. Looks like a giant wart. Other than that, perfect.
Very strange car. I’m in love with this engines sound, but it slow. I’m in love in exterior, but interior is so cheap and outdated. Parking button under the steering wheel, why there? Heating and ventilation buttons are the same as in Yaris or corolla. Cool car tho, but so many compromises I’m not ready to write about everything I see
Base car is really old now. They need an all new flatform. Interior barely change from the old design. Come on Lexus. You becoming like Audi getting lazy on your suppose to be best seller. Look at the Audi A4. No oneis buying them, while the C class and 3 series are selling like hotcake.

10 years ago In 2014, I bought the newly launched RC350, which made me dislike Lexus cars until today. 1. A year later, due to poor sales, they launched the almost indistinguishable but much cheaper RC300. 2. The onboard computer was stuck, and the engine performance and fuel consumption were both very poor Because of its outdated V6 Technology. the hardware was not up to date compared with German cars. 3. Except for the movable screen, i I feel fancy for coupe days..... Besides, they have used such ugly keys for more than ten years.
