Odd Taxi is a truly great anime. It's a mystery, thriller, comedy, drama, and is definitely not to be judged by its cover.
Odd taxi was such a dark horse, i don't think any1 expected it to be so good when that season started.
I tried to watch it but it was just too weird I couldn't get behind it

The opening for To Your Eternity was so good that they reused it in the 2nd season. This is actually quite a unique situation.
The only other seasonal anime (I know of) that reused the opening for season 2 was Log Horizon. A lot of people (including me) were really disappointed when the opening was different in season 3.
@@az639 Damn, sad indeed. I think To Your Eternity season 3 will use different opening as well, since it is gonna cover the 2nd act while the 1st and 2nd seasons covered the 1st act.

9:13 Fumetsu no anata or "To Your Eternity" is a pretty good, albeit very emotional anime! The story is from the same author that made "A Silent Voice", and as you can guess, she's quite good at making emotional plots. It's another one of those hidden gems that are not talked about enough IMO👍
Beginning of this was very good, but further I got into the manga, the more it bore me and just I didn't like in what direction the story is going.
@@BlekDimon Yeah that's understandable, it's not for everyone. I feel like the pacing of the manga is a little off in the newer chapters, but the anime will hopefully fix that issue...

9:13 fumetsu no anata e, the "terrifying looking anime", has THE BEST first episode in all of anime imo. It's honestly worth watching it even on its own, it's so captivating and heartbreaking. I haven't finished the anime or the manga, but I've rewatched the first episode sooooooo many times

@@papeh01 Don't worry. The 2nd season isn't as emotional and is more focused on Fushi's journey. The emotional bits come in like 3-4 eps.

#40 is an isekai called "World's Finest Assassin" in English. Show is decent for a fantasy isekai and the OP slaps.
I don't remember when it came out but I really love an OP for an isekai called "Skeleton Knight in Another World." It was done by an anime fan who had done opening covers for years and finally got his big break to do one for real so he went all out on it. Song is called "Ah, My Romantic Road" by PelleK.

The "naked woman" one was Lupin III. It's an old series from the 70s that's iconic enough that's it's pretty consistently gotten new content and incarnations since then (sometimes series, sometimes movies, ect). Imagine if Scooby Doo were about pulling heists instead of solving mysteries and had a very adult sense of humor (depending on the incarnation, anyway). Even the theme song you watched is a remix of the old iconic theme.
It's one of those franchises absolutely EVERYONE in Japan recognizes. If you watch basically any comedy anime that goes on for long enough, you'll eventually run into a reference to it. (I know Kaguya absolutely references famous quotes from it a few times)
Odd Taxi is fantastic, one of the greatest anime to come out in 2021. It's a mystery/drama that is very well written with a ton of great characters, I can't recommend it enough!
As for OPs/EDs I'm surprised you haven't reacted to yet, there was one in this video: Boruto. It's the sequel to Naruto, and while not nearly as well regarded by fans as Naruto was, it still has some fantastic OPs/EDs!

You got to check out the full opening for "the idaten that only know peace". It was #4 on this list. The anime (in my opinion) was a hidden gem of 2021. The way they adapted the anime was pretty unique.

Man, I HIGHLY recommend listening to *Dark Seeks Light* ! 3:30 The english name for the anime would be The World's Finest Assassin (full name is The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat).
I can't get enough of this song! And the opening animation is one of my favorites of 2021.
Also, I heard the Godzilla anime is really good. Just from the images I saw, I know at the very least it's really well made! And kaijuus (giant monsters) are still popular in Japan. I heard kids love them kk 😁 There's a bunch of kaijuu stuff to watch, both in anime and live action.
You definitely have to watch the opening of Dorohedoro and have 6 endings. Dorohedoro created studio Mappa (like JJk, CSM and more...) 1 band created all the OP and EDs
You should deffinitely check out a lot more older top anime opening videos. Also Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans and Banana Fish openings and endings are effinitely bangers that I am surprised you haven't checked out yet!

Slayers opening themes are a must listen. Especially Get Along. Megumi Hayashibara and Masami Okui. Two of the all time greats.
I knew you'd like SK8's opening. It has a very good rhythm. On the other hand, the "Wonder egg priority" anime is very good, the only detail is that it touches on very sensitive topics and you have to be mentally well to see it😢
Gonna use this chance to plug a recommendation for Raise A Suilen! They did "EXIST" for Jouran (#33). But aside from that, they are an irl band based off an in-game band from the mobile rhythm game, BanG Dream! Girls Band Party. The voice actresses for 4 of these bands can actually perform their instruments live.
They have many banger original songs and cover songs in the game, and they have also appeared as guests for one of Suisei's 3D lives. Would personally recommend a react to their "DRIVE US CRAZY" anime performance from the BanG Dream! Poppin'Dream! movie.

Black Clover went on a hiatus that started with the author being hospitalized from a mental breakdown. After he healed, he wanted to take a break and fully concentrate on the final chapters of the story. The movie is coming out in June.
The one you recognized is called The Promised Neverland. Avoid that season 2. The opening is the only good part-
Terrifying and Beautiful is a very accurate description of To Your Eternity.
The one at #5 is Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid. It's very cute.
Odd Taxi ABSOLUTELY deserves that #1 spot. It has a twist that you don't see coming until the very end.
One of my top favorite series is Requiem Of The Rose King(Baraou no Souretsu) and it's openings and endings are beautiful.
I can't wait for the reaction to the best anime OPs of 2020... because Dorohedoro will be in it! just a bit of the OP, but maybe it'll sell itself well enough that the EDs could get a listen too!! and Odd Taxi is brilliant... it's such a well plotted self contained little mystery. I'm definitely hoping for these two to get a watch eventually, because they're only 12 episodes apiece, as it stands now.
(also, you have reacted to at least one song from My First Story... the second OP for Golden Kamuy! though it was a collaboration, so if you're talking about songs exclusively by them, never mind!)
and then there's Fruits Basket... god. I recommend it so so so highly, but I haven't been able to bring myself to watch the new anime because I'm not emotionally ready. Fruits Basket was my first manga, and at the time when I picked it up, I needed it to help me through a really really hard time in my life. it was a true case of the exact right media finding me at the exact right time. that series is monumentally important to me, but if I were to watch it now... I dunno. I dunno how I'd be, emotionally speaking. I was only a kid at the time when I first read it, so maybe it'll be different now that I'm older. I do want to see these characters again... they remind me of places from my childhood that I really can't go back to anymore. I just don't know if I'm ready to sort through it all.
but I hope this testimony stands as an indication that it's a very effective story. it showed me reflections of things I wanted to be, in characters that I really liked... even if I'd take a lot longer to get there from where I was. a lot of the characters were like that too... it takes a while for some of them to come around on a lot of their flaws, but the story is deeply patient and endlessly kind. it communicates the sort of things that give you faith in the world, because someone chose to make art about feelings like those, and elevate the importance of them. someone believes in this, and it's powerful to see a broad audience of people respond to it. Fruits Basket contains emotions that I think are worth sharing with people you like, and want to be kind to.
so, whenever you can comfortably find the time, I think you should watch it.

That anime at 9:13 that you commented about is called "To Your Eternity". Its definitely one I would reccomend to anyone, and an anime I believe to be a masterpiece. I'd love it if more people reacted to it, though it gets pretty sad at parts so prepare the tissue box if you do lol.

I forgot how many good shows came out in 2021. Spring 2021 was probably one of the best seasons I have seen to date. Dark seeks light from reincarnated as an aristrocrat, 86 op 2, Mashiro no oto op 1, and of course vivy's op are all fantastic.
How can one comment contain so much Truth. That season was overwhelmingly golden. I still have slight PTSD from so much hype and quality.

1:20 - Black Clover finished airing at EP 170, because it catched up to manga very fast, now that THE (non-canon) Movie is coming out in July and expectations are high for it, all of us Black Clover fans are praying all the Gods that they get enough budget from Movie to continue the series. Black clover manga is getting close to finishing. The anime kinda just stopped mid story, but a movie is about to be released that isn’t in the manga but the author is saying is canon. Hopefully after that the anime will begin to be produced again

By the way, just remember the composer's name sawano, he wrote a lot of epic bgm for many animes such as attack on titan, 86, recreators and so on. His song is so wonderful. He is one of my favorite composers(the other is TAKA)

I generally agree with that, but not with Summertime Rendering. I think it is a much better experience to go in completely blind for it.

heion sedai no idaten-tachi is a GREAT opening you should do an op reaction. Anime was really wierd, cool and enjoyable but kinda all over the place...
on the other hand Odd Taxi was just a masterpiece. Great story, great charachters, awesome dialogues and a perfect end of the plot in just 13 episodes.
It deserves a full reaction imho.
Idaten's manga is drawn by the same author who drew the kobayashi manga and both of them are so much more explicit there than the anime.

I cannot recommend Blue Period enough to people. I watched it at a period of my life where genuinely didnt feel like lifting a pencil anymore and it ended up rekindling my love for art when I watched it. I havent seen much news for a season 2 so far but I really hope it gets one otherwise I'm definitely picking up the manga I heard it's really good!
Fruits Basket is awesome! It had a first anime in the early 2000 that was remade in 2019 and the story really holds up most people think it's just a romance story but it's so much more.
Sk8 the Infinity does have banger opening and ending, imo it's not the best anime of 2021 but it was decent very chill watch
Horimiya is a really good romance anime, some fan of the manga complain that it was rushed but personally as someone who hasnt read it and only watched the anime I didnt feel the need to read because I felt like anything was missing, i loved it. Very cute.
I will be looking forward to the DR. STONE reactions already I'm very excited about the Kaguya sama watchalong starting this weekend :)
12:06 dont know this anime but the opening is sang by Syudou he is a vocaloid producer and has one of the most unique voice you'll find his song all have a distinct feeling of *him* he did an opening for Cool Doji Danshi (banger 15 minutes episode anime) that's also nice but all of his songs are AWESOME
Beastars is awesome that's it, theres nothing I can add to that statement it's just damn good.
It's normal theres a bunch you never heard before because per year there are so many new shows being pumped out its hard to keep track of it let alone watch them like every season (winter/spring/summer/fall) theres about 20 or so NEW shows so counting movies, new seasons of previous releases, OVAs which are like special releases of episode or long ongoing shows like One Piece, Boruto etc yeah theres A LOT lmao I usually stick to 2 to 5 shows max every season including new seasons and One Piece in that count otherwise it gets too much for me XD
Yes! 2021 had great openings (and endings too) such as Yakusoku no Neverland, Re:Zero, Beasters, Tokyo Revengers, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kimetsu no Yaiba, Log Horizon, 86, Slime, Isekai Mao, Mashiro no Oto, SnK and more! I'm looking forward to the versions with endings well. Wait what? No opening from Re:Zero and Slime on this list? How? It's too 2021...

#40, Dark Seeks Light from The Greatest Assassin gets Reincarnated, that is a song you need to check out!!
#23 Pink Blood from To Your Eternity is a song so good they used it twice. Not sure I recommend watching the OP cause there are a LOT of spoilers, but the song and anime are amazing!
#17 Takt from Takt Op Destiny is another great one, you need to check out more Supercell in general.
#14 Gamble is such a hype song and Moonlight Fantasy is a really fun show.
Odd Taxi is....odd, but good.

Suisei did excellent covers of #25 Cry Baby and #2 Kaibutsu. Cry Baby is solo on Suisei's channel, while Kaibutsu is an exsemble on Koyori's channel with Koyori, Sora, Suisei, Subaru, Polka, and Chloe.

86 will ALWAYS remain one of the best animes(writing, animation, VA work, OST, character development, conflict resolution, opening/ending songs and visuals, emotional moments, hype af fight scenes, plot twists, unspoken exposition, cliffhangers, macabre tones) I'll ever see.

Godzilla SP (or Singular Point) is 100% worth watching as a Godzilla fan. It is fairly overlooked by the anime community because of the amount of CGI used in that anime, but even then story and animations arent bad at all. Animations take time to get used to, but songs are top tier. I recommend it.

11:48 Dr Stone. I just can't tell how I amaze by this anime. It basically not an action based anime, but somehow they manage to have the hype as high as how action anime had. I already rewatch it and I'm gonna say I can go for a third round, it's just how good it is. It had everything, character, world building, etc, they rarely fight but the hype of the result of Senku's creation is a hype that I never thought of, and i never predicted. Would recommend this to anybody and everybody, 10/10

Odd Taxi was the sleeper hit of 2021, and one i highly recommend checking out. Man, i have to start watching these with a notepad to make a list of anime to watch. Also the Godzilla anime is good.
That "terrifying" anime is called "To your eternity" and i warn you- it will stab you in the heart. As for the one with the maid girl, it is called "Ms. Kobayashi's dragon maid" and it is an amazing comedy/romance anime.
In general, i'd like to recommend reacting the openings and endings to:
- "Ms. Kobayashi's dragon maid"
- "Kekkai sensen"
- "Dragon Pilot: Hisone to Masotan"

You should react to the Dororo openings it has some of my favs.
I'll recommend an older one, Shiki openings and endings, it is a great vampire psychological horror.

Oh and Number 5 is Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid. It is a really popular anime where the first season came out in 2017 made by the Kyoto Animation studio but then they experienced a horrible arson. They managed to come back in 2021 with the second season of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid which was one of their most popular anime.
Black Clover is going on, it's next arc that is Spade arc will be coming soon.
Fruits Basket is 100% one you should check out. OPS are so good and an overall vibe

It's so good. Yashahime, Lupin III part 6 OP of course, Fruits Basket, and Log Horizon were my
favorites on this list. If I had to pick one, my favorite song out of those are Fruits Basket. It's not
my favorite anime though.
It's not on this list, but Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun S2 OP is very good. I don't remember
if it was on the list or not but How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom also has a good op and is a
great show.

ahh yes, Heion Shidai no Idaten, one of the very few anime that I watch because of how good its opening sounds. Btw, Odd taxi is so gooddd, a fren recommended it to me and it rly exceeds my expectation. But, for 2021, the best surprise I found is To your eternity, season1 literally makes it become one of my top 10 fav anime of all time

I would highly recommend looking into Hajime no ippo. It’s an older anime but it’s by far my favorite sports anime.
