Great video James! Can you do a video on your general tax and monthly expenses? Are you able to deduct mileage or do you just deduct vehicle depreciation? Any tips on tax savings?Thanks!
I'll be meeting with an accountant later next month to go over some of that.
I've been hesitant to go too much into taxes out of a fear of misinformation. This still be the first year that we really made enough to worry about it.
Once I have some solid info, I'll be sure to pass it on.

Sure can!

On an average booking does the renter pick up the car or do you deliver? If you don't deliver where do you park your cars for pick up?

Usually they pick it up at the airport. Around 75% of the time. The rest come to pick it up from our home. It would be greater, however, we live in a military installation and many aren't able to get in easily.
@@FarmerJim awesome! So you still get a lot of booking even when you don't deliver? Cuz I was afraid that I have to park at a parking location near the airport but that will cost more.

We do! We are fairly close to the airport, but taking a $15-$20 Uber to pick up your car isn't unreasonable. Just a bit inconvenient.
Is the zubie car tracking part of the monthly payment for streetsmarts?
No. It's currently just a one time fee and StreetSmarts does not charge for the additional tracking.

I’m about to start my turo rentals and I’m currently deciding between a 2017 sonic sedan front wheel drive 10-11k used with 44,000 miles or a Jeep Patriot 4x4 2013-2016 with 55,000-67,000 miles. I’m in Chicago so you’ve gotta be prepared for whatever. What do you think of those two vehicles and their possibilities for rentals both short and long term?

Depends on the week, but usually average about 1 hour per day. Some Days it's much more, but others are none!
What are the charges for utilizing this service? How will using this benefit me since I’m just starting out with being a host?
Street Smarts charges $15 per car per month. They handle all of the communications.
If you get a booking in the middle of the night or during the day, SS automatically accepts it, responds, sends out messages, can accept extensions for you. You can do batch changes to your prices based on day of the week, weekend, and holidays.
You can track your expenses and earnings by the day. They also have additional helps. It's great. Everyone that has ever set it up has kept it. It's a no brainer.
Go to the site and let them know that I sent you. They'll give you the first month off and then don't charge until the next month has passed. You can try it for 2 months before you pay anything.
Turo Tales so if someone wants to extend their trip how does that work exactly? Do they initiate that in their end of the app, does turo know they’re doing that and automatically charges them?
They request it in the app. You'll get a notification to approve it or not. I've you approve it, the trip details will change to reflect the new time. Depending on when they extend, you may only have 30 minutes or less to approve the change.
Having SS is particularly useful for last minute situations such as this.
