I’m a stay at home mom of 2. Before having my own family I loved hiking and traveling and road trips, by myself or with friends. Now I stay home because my husband is a homebody. I felt like I was hiking by myself again watching you 😆 thank you for sharing!
I grew up in the area you live in, and I've never ever in my life seen a grizzly there. I now live south of the border and hike the Cascades periodically on the Washington side too. However, in April of this year the National Park Service website noc.gov stated "agencies have decided to restore grizzly bears to the North Cascades ecosystem through the translocation of grizzly bears from other ecosystems in the Rocky Mountains or interior British Columbia. The decision is the culmination of an Environmental Impact Statement process that began in 2022."

discovered your channel from the everest video. you have great vlogging skills and your videos are so much informative. Thanks a lot for making these!!
Another great video in beautiful scenery, thanks for taking us on this hike Kira and Madison ☺ It's so easy to forget that we can actually do anything that we want, or put our minds to. Not "I want to spend a billion dollars " or "I want to own a fancy boat right now" - but that we can actually decide what we want to achieve, and then work towards it. It's so easy to slip into daydreaming, or commiserating with ourselves for our current situation. But really its almost always up to us - make a goal, and take steps towards it. So thanks for the reminder.
Good job young lady.....get out there!! There's so much to see! Be safe, overcome your fears...you will grow!! Much respect......having 3 daughter's who are all very much like yourself......so much pride! Hopefully you inspire other young and old gals (I know...doesn't sound right) to get out there!!!

Beautiful scenery! Madison is so brave. She has nerves of steel. I LOVE watching her adventures, but for me, I could never hike alone - even with my four legged friend. I would be too scared. A large group, sure! LOL I love her energy and personality. She is a go-getter. Safe travels! Thumbs up.

Are you suggesting one should not use bear spray in dense foliage and to ask the bear to follow you to surroundings more conducive to deploying the deterrent before it begins attacking you?
I appreciate these kinds of videos. I've never camped before but I want to because of what you can see and what you can photograph, and I'm never with anyone! The prettiest places (much like this one) in my area are mountainous black bear territory, which are regarded as much more manageable than grizzlies but they still scare me since I haven't been out with them before. I've only ever had close encounters with mountain lions, and I'm not super keen on adding to that list an animal as large as a human. This solo stuff is inspiring! It speaks to the odds, and the beauty of it speaks for it all

If the foliage is that dense, I'd recommend having the safety off the bear spray so you can deploy it at a second's notice.
