Thank you for the notification, i have been waiting for v31, starting to prepare my USB, this is where having a hard drive dedicated only 2 store roms pays off. : V
Well....I just subscribed to you my friend! Great video. I have some experience messing around with emulators and modding systems, but my Barocera experience has been limited to a pre-made image on a pi4 (which is awesome) I've been wanting to make a more powerful system with an older PC and this is the channel I've been looking for. good work
If you want to boot from an internal HDD rather than a USB stick.. Follow the same process but hook up a sata HDD and get either a sata to usb adapter or just manually hook it up to your motherboard and flash the image file to the drive with etcher :) simple enough !
Okay, it took me a day to figure it all out, BUT IT WORKS!!! This is so awesome. Now, one more question, how did you get all the artwork for the boxes and videos and whatnot. Thank you so much for this. Batocera is so damn cool
Great! How did you solve your problem? To answer your question, Batocera has a built in scraper. But a better option is this: ua-cam.com/video/fzMPB--STsw/v-deo.html
Is this the latest up date on how to do this? I want to delete windows 7 and format my ten year old hp Pavilion dm1 notebook and turn it into a dedicated Batocera machine but I don't know how to do it. I have Batocera on a 31GB thumb drive but my notebook but it won't let me boot to USB (an issue with hp apparantly). So how do I just install Batocera on my notebook 256GB hard drive and have it just boot to that as the primary?
@@BatoceraNation Thanks. I did it successfully already with the help of a YT channel. Now I need to learn to configure it and the arcade stick and roms so I'm watching your tutorials on those tasks.
If you are having the issue of F1 literally doing nothing I figured out how to work around it. I am using a Raspberry Pi 4 and had this issue, here is the fix: 1: Install Batocera as normal (I installed it to a micro SD card) 2: Use an external interface as storage (I'm using a USB stick) and in the storage settings find and select your device 3: Select "Quit" in the main menu and select "Reboot" (You'll notice it takes a little longer on booting up this time) this allows it to place all the necessary folders on the device 4: Select "Quit" in the main menu and select "Shut Down" 5: Remove the storage device (USB stick) from the Raspberry Pi and insert it into your PC (I'm using a windows PC). Windows will recognize the drive no problem as it has not been reformatted since Batocera itself has not been installed to it, Batocera only moves it's storage folders over to it. Now you can drag and drop your files freely. With the BIOS files just Highlight the whole selection and drag over, click to replace the files with the same name. 6: Add all your ROMs to the appropriate folders (Make sure they are the appropriate format) and ENJOY!!!
Thanks! Now that I have a Pi 400, I've noticed that you can copy your files in that manner. There is also another manner without having to take out your microsd card. I will be sharing all this soon. Thanks again!
@@BatoceraNation You're very welcome! I've noticed that most people tend to comment when they have a problem, but usually not when they've found a solution. I firmly believe in sharing the knowledge. I've only recently started tinkering with the Raspberry Pi and have been using it mainly as a learning machine. I've been super fascinated with all the things people have found ways to make operate on it. So now I'm beginning my journey and soaking in every ounce of knowledge I can. I'll be starting my own channel hopefully soon where I'll be breaking all kinds of tech down to extremely simple levels, so keep an eye out for me on the "Tube"! Remember everyone, every tiny instance when we've solved a problem ourselves makes us feel great... We all need a bit of help here and there though, share with and help each other. I’ve never installed batocera before, but would it be safe to assume that the process in the video, including using the flasher app, would be the same if installing to a standard 3.5” internal hard drive? I don’t have a big USB drive laying around but I do have an empty 1GB drive.
Hey... i tried flashing with Balena and i also tried rufus (they both finish flashing successfully). Yet, batocera is refusing to boot for some reason... is there something else or just unusable flash drive? i just bought it too ;__;
Great video! I did have a question about loading ROMs from external storage: if my batocera machine has an internal optical drive can I pop a Blu-Ray with all my ROMs on it into the drive and then copy them over that way?
Good question. I've never tried a CD-Rom or Blu-ray before. I don't know if it will work. I suggest you try it and report back so that I can tell others in the future.

I'm running batocera on a USB stick. I noticed that there is an option " Install Batocera on a new disk". Can I use this option to install batocera on my hard drive?
@@BatoceraNation The hard drive is already there. I've never taken it out the laptop. Currently I'm running batocera through a usb stick but I want to install it on my hard drive. It will erase everything there is on my hard drive and I will have only batocera on it right?? The reason why I'm asking if I should use this option is that I've seen some videos that people take out the hard drive and connect it to a usb adapter instead of using the option on batocera so I got confused. The bios from the wayback machine does not have a ps2 bio that is recognized in batocera. Am I missing something. I've tried to install my own bios too but they are not found when in batocera. I'm not sure what's wrong. I had installed batocera successfully once before on a flash drive with a working ps2 emulator and BIOS. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
What version of Batocera are you using? Not sure if v38 has this but in v39 beta there is a ps2 folder created in the main bios folder. In that ps2 folder you need to find and add the bios file: ps2-023a-20080220.bin

I want to create a retro gaming PC, is it possible to flash batocets to my main internal m.2 drive (do I need to create a partition to avoid losing my OS?) And can you have batocera look for tons on a other internal HDD?
Will this work with a micro Sd or will it be slow? I have tried to get Batocera on 2 thumb drives about 10 times and it always comes up with an error message when trying to flash, I have formatted them both so there is nothing on them, so bought a micro Sd instead
It can. In fact, with a right microSD, it works even better than a regular thumb drive. I used this: www.amazon.com/dp/B07G3JCG8Z?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details on a Pi 400 and I was impressed on how well and fast it boots and runs.
I have done EVERYTHING step-by-step and Batocera still will not boot... Can't figure what I'm doing wrong! Just will wait, and goes right into Windows... At 14:13 in your video, there is nowhere in my HP BIOS like that or lets me install/update new. Could it just be that the HP EliteBook 8400p just will not allow you to do that? I would like a frontend but if not, I can run with individual emulators just the same
Did you install Batocera on a thumb drive? Did you enter your Bios and tell it to boot the thumb drive first? If so, try installing it on a different thumbdrive or external SSD. For some reason, some thumb drives don't play well with Batocera.

Great Videos, I've had Batocera loaded and enjoying the trip. I have run into one issue and have found one other post with the same problem. I dont know where that setting is in the bios. Thank you so much for what you do, this is the answer for my gaming needs!
You can flash Batocera to a flash drive or portable hdd/ssd yeah. Then you have to enter your PC bios boot setting and enable it to boot from the USB port, so Batocera boots instead of Windows. Every PC brand is different on how to enter your bios setting. Usually its pressing F2,F10,F12 or esc or something like that. You would have to look that up. Then find your boot priority settings somewhere there. Sorry cant help more, perhaps BN or someone else can. ETA prime has some vids on it too.
@@fonzitheman Thru help on the Batocera FB group, I seem to be up and running! By Luck, my MiniPCs boot to anything plugged in before Windows, so, its all done Automatically for me!

When I booted from the USB stick for the first time, it seems to install on the same USB stick without giving an option to install on the PC... I must've missed something. Is there an option to install it on the PC itself that I missed? Thank you
Yes, it is possible. Here are the steps: 1. Install it on a thumb drive. 2. After it loads up, go into the Main Menu (press Spacebar) 3. Select "System Settings." 4. Select "Install Batocera on a New Disk". 5. Select "Target Device", and choose your laptop's hard drive. 6. Select "Target Architecture", choose "X86_64" It will then install a copy to your laptop's hard drive.
Thank you for the video. If i want to use batocera on my main pc and swap bios every time , is it possible to play roms stored on the pc without copying or moving them? and can i play same roms while on windows?
If your games/roms are stored in the C drive of your Windows partition, sometimes Batocera won't see the C drive. If you have a D drive in your Windows partition where you store your games and install Batocera, it normally will see your Drive. Or you can plug up a portable drive after Batocera loads up and run your games from your portable drive. This tutorial explains the process: ua-cam.com/video/aYKD9TQjHYM/v-deo.html
So I'm trying to get into a windows 10 desktop bios, but I do not have the UEFI option to get into bios. Any idea what I should do at that point? I've tried disabling fast startup so I can have time to hit F2 to enter bios but it still starts up too fast. Any help would be apreciated.
Do you know for a fact that your PC Boot Bios key is F2? Because if it isn't, then it won't respond to F2. All PCs and laptop have a key that will allow them to enter into the Bios setup. Then as soon as you start it up press that key repeatedly until it works.
@@deeplyheartbroke In rereading all your comments, let me explain further. When you upgrade Batocera, you can upgrade from inside your Batocera system. However, you still need to manually copy your new Bios files into the upgraded Batocera system. The upgrades don't come with the Bios files. You have to do that manually.
A pre-configured Batocera image with games already installed and configured? If so, I don't believe it's possible because the Barocera image has 2 disk partitions that would make this difficult.

When I try to boot the laptop with the drive, I always get a «security Boot Fail» message. Most likely, that's a problem with windows more than with the Batocera drive, but either way, I don't know what to do! Thanks for any suggestions.
Yes, that's a built in feature of some laptop manufacturers to protect your laptop from hacking or ransomware. You will need to go into your laptop bios and look for a setting that says security or something similar. Once you find it, turn it off.
So I recently downloaded and flashed batocera to a 2.0 usb and everything works when I boot it up except for the F1 button, so I had to add games from another PC on the same network. The F1 button works when the usb is not plugged in (Lenovo laptop) and it turns the sound on and off. Is there another way to access the files menu without F1? Also when I plug the usb in after I boot up windows 10 a window pops up saying that I need to format drive G but I just click cancel. Do I need to format the drive and if so, do I format it to fat32 or something else??
Here's a way to quickly copy your files without using F1. Check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/KOGMWtGSlwA/v-deo.html When you boot up Windows, DO NOT format your thumb drive. You will end up deleting Batocera. Best thing to do is to NOT plug your thumb drive (where you have Batocera) into any Windows PC because it might mess things up. Batocera is running in Linux and you don't want Windows to mess anything up.

Hello, I have installed batocera on the flash drive but unfortunately my AMD software is in portrait mode and I am not able to put batocera in landscape mode unless batocera is able to rotate into landscape mode
I'm in a big problem and I don't know a solution to it. I flashed a copy of the program, but it doesn't boot from my Samsung laptop, and it boots from other devices, and I don't know why
So you have Batocera flashed to a flash drive or portable hdd? Did you go into your PC bios setting and enable it to boot from the usb as first option in boot priority order? What happens when you try to boot it in that samsung laptop? You may also have to enable legacy mode, and/or disable secure boot option in the bios setting.
@@fonzitheman Regarding the deactivation of bios protection, I think it has nothing to do with it because I used several other flash drives to install Windows and it was booting. Such a problem did not happen with the Batocera. The problem is with the Samsung laptop, but the rest of the computers It boots normally without problems
@@MOHAMED_MASRI It still could be the legacy boot or secure boot option. Doesnt hurt to change that and try, you can always switch it back if that wasnt the issue. Also, if the laptop has a fast boot option enabled, try turning that off first.
I have used this tutorial to install Batocera on a flash drive and it runs great on my Dell Latitude e6430 with 8gb of memory and 500gb ssd. I want to run Playstation 2 on here but I don't know if my laptop will run it smoothly is there a tutorial on how to set it up?
There is a tutorial. On our website at www.batoceranation.com, click on the tab that says Consoles and you will find it. But I'm afraid your processor may be too weak.
Thanks again for this tutorial. Do you think we should simply upgrade from batocera 30 ? Or make a fresh and clean install of batocera 31 and copy the roms, bios and save folder ?
I upgraded from 30 to 31. I noticed I no longer have the GAME OPTIONS. It only has ADVANCE SYSTEM OPTIONS which means I can no longer individually set per game options. I noticed in ur fresh install that u have that option. Can you please confirm if that's the case for version 31. I most likely will have to start again with a fresh install. 😪
It is there. Long press your A button for a few seconds and the menu will show up. It used to be like that for 29. I don't know why they changed it back. It has confused a lot of people. But I confirmed it yesterday that it is there.
Yeah.. I missed that too but long press A on a game does indeed bring up the advanced game setting menu. A big relief for sure and big thanks for that info BN 👍 But I did notice that after the update any previous resolution setting I had set on a per game basis when using the same emulator for all the games of a system I had to redo again as it did not remember my setting. For eg for psp I set system resolution settiing to 5x but also changed some games to 4x,,3x and to 2x but after the update it all defaulted to the auto res setting, for the whole system setting and per game.
Press start for settings, scroll down to System Settings, then down to sound output, and select your option. If unsure which one then try each but you need to reboot each time for it to take effect.
You don't need to. If you can fit all your games on your main Batocera system, then you're good to go. But if you have tons of games, then you might need an external drive to fit your games.
Yeah, you can install it on the internal HDD/SSD but keep in mind you will be replacing windows. Or take the hdd out, put a new one in. You could get a new or used hdd attach it to your reg PC with a sata to usb cable and flash Batocera that way like you would a flash drive. Or, if you are fine using your current hdd and over writing windows you can flash Batocera to a flash drive, boot Batocera and choose to install on a new device from there, you will have to be connected to the internet though.
Okay, first off, I am sorry for all the questions. I've tried flashing two more times and both times have failed (I must have not noticed it the first time). Each time the drive gets partitioned (is this normal?) with the Batocera drive only having about 6 gigs and then the partitioned drive only having 511 mb. I don't know what I am doing wrong at this point. I formatted the drive in NTFS. Any help would be appreciated.
@@BatoceraNation Unfortunately I keep getting the same result. The drive partitions with the "Batocera" partition only having 6 gigs and then the other partition only having 511 mb. I appreciate all the help so far.
It does create 2 partitions. The first partition is correct of about 6GB. The second partition shouldn't report 512MB or so. That leads me to believe something is wrong with the actual drive. Can you try again on a different drive. It could even be a thumb drive. Then once it loads up. F Go into System Settings. THEN Developer section. Then create or format a new Batocera drive and choose your external 1TB drive.
@@BatoceraNation So using a 1t hard drive the flash worked! However now I do not see the partition, just the Batocera drive with 6 gigs. Is it normal not to see the partitioned drive?

Im not sure but I thought I read somewhere you cant update to v30,,you need a fresh install If so Id guess and say you cant update from v29 or older to v31 either. Same would apply. You'd need a fresh install from v30 up basically. But.. I could be wrong. Anyone confirm?
Fonzi I believe is correct. Mainly because it needs a bigger partition for the "System Disk Usage". The new one had 6GB of space allocated. While the old one had 2-3 GB of space allocated.
The new version is really good. But the "black screen on boot" issue is not solved. It's no issue with the USB derive, on some PC's it's booting correctly, on others it's just black screen. Do you have any information what can be the reason?
@@BatoceraNation , this issue was mentioned by users on Batocera.org forums, but no useful answer was given. It's strange that Batocera uses some kind of Recalbox in the background and on PC's where Batocera won't boot, Recalbox works without issues.

the best installation process explanation ever, thanks man. is there a way to update batocera 29 or 30, to 31 without losing all the roms and configurations?
Ive been checking the official site 'almost' every day for the next version but the first I seen of v31 release is this vid lol But unfortunately it looks like v31 isnt available for all platforms yet. At least not at the time of typing in this message. I tried the download link for odroid go super for eg as well as a few others and its v30 still. However I havent tried to update from within my RGB10Max itself yet. Im just talking about the image download from the site. But Ill check to see if it updates to v31 in the morning (my time 😁) As well as update my PC version. 👍 Also, I shouldnt need to update my bios files surely, I mean the only reason to do that is for any new systems thats been added that may need bios files AND if you intend to play those new systems right.
You're correct, you don't need to update the Bios files if you don't plan to play on those new systems. The old bios should work, especially for the older systems.
Well, I updated to v31 on PC and defo wasnt happy. PS2 still shows white bars on sides instead of black. But that doesnt bother me. Yaba saturn emu still doesnt work for me for some reason, so I gotta use Bettlecore. Kronos doesnt work as good. Duckstation still doesnt play PBP but thats a duckstation thing, not Batocera. Looks like they removed the LibretroDuckstation core. Mednafen still shows bios boot logo even if you turn off. These arent big issues either just thought Id mention it. They did add the libretro psp core but from my quick test ppsspp stand alone ofcourse works better anyway it seems. Sub folder view is better in that it shows a mini preview of the contents. But my FDS folder now shows as a sub folder of NES, wt.. But one very important thing thats been removed is the advanced game option, so no option to edit/delete games and also you cant set core/emulator per game! Just system! This also means you can set options per game. I had a look through settings to see if it was moved or changed somehow but I still cant find it so if I have missed it I apologize but if it is indeed gone why? This was needed. I spent a lot of time on certain higher end systems like gamecube, ps2 and psp setting internal res for each game so each game is optimized for best res. I didnt even check to see if the videosnaps issue was fixed or not. In the meantime I downloaded version 30 boottar file and replaced them in the boot file section so I could downgrade back to v30.
@@fonzithemanBoy, that's an extensive testing. I haven't really tested everything. I mainly tested Dreamcast with the CHD files. In Batocera 30, they were slow loading up. Now it's back to normal speed. I was also happy to see Kodi there since there was talk about removing it due to a bug until Batocera 32. I also played with the video snaps and was about to play with Xemu. They did add long press on the controller. So hold your A button for a few seconds and see if the menu items pop up again and see if you can change the emulator per game setting.

If you are creating a new Batocera system from within Batocera, it does it automatically. If you are doing it with Balena Etcher, I tend to format the hard drive. I've had some problems before when I didn't format the hard drive.
@@anthropomorphicmonster9113 I'm curious what version of Batocera are you using? Why not delete the Bluetooth connection within the Controller Settings and reestablish or pair a new connection and try again.
@@BatoceraNation Yeah, It's the most recent version, downloaded today. I've tried forgetting and reconnecting. It's pretty bizarre. I've never had any BT issues before with this controller or this PC(it's a beelink mini pc if that matters). Connects to other controllers just fine.
I wish next version of batocera add un zip/rar/7z support and some small tools like hdd chkdsk. And auto refresh in file manager. Edit: and why not internet browser also? all should be done via batocera, no need windows it's linux after all...
It would be nice. You might suggest that at the Batocera.org forums. For an internet browser, you can do it via Flatpak. Flatpak has gotten so much easier to use where you don't need to enter any Linux commands at all. Check out this video which explains the process (for Firefox): ua-cam.com/video/4ns6svJIHl0/v-deo.html
So......... frusterating...Batocera rufuses to see 2nd drive.(scan with windows10 and 7 no problems found. i have used brand new drives out of box) batocera refuses to work with 10 different wifi dongels.... house is not setup_ for wired internet.Curses and more curses. 7 days wasted again trying botacera. (not my 1st round with batocera) raspberry pi so simple. wifi works , but i want power of pc. i do word 4 word of your vids.... same with eta primes. i even downloaded vids. play on laptop and pause and do word for word.....how are you seeing 2nd drive? and for the love of god what wifi dongle works out of box????? I have a stack of usb drives, 3 ssd drives, 7 micro sd cards. 4 thumb drives. there is missing info. problem with linux is file seach, install programs and wifi. You can skin linux to look good but install progams and wifi support stinks. love your vids and your help but there must be some info missing. format of secound drive? what program needed to format 2nd drive?
Is your second drive internal or external? If it is an external portable hard drive then don't have it plugged in when Batocera loads up. After it loads up then plug in portable drive and it will see it. For wifi dongle. It has to be a Linux compatible dongle. On Amazon, type "wifi Linux adapter"

I did it successfully already with the help of a YT channel.
Now I need to learn to configure it and the arcade stick and roms so I'm watching your tutorials on those tasks.
If you are having the issue of F1 literally doing nothing I figured out how to work around it. I am using a Raspberry Pi 4 and had this issue, here is the fix:
1: Install Batocera as normal (I installed it to a micro SD card)
2: Use an external interface as storage (I'm using a USB stick) and in the storage settings find and select your device
3: Select "Quit" in the main menu and select "Reboot" (You'll notice it takes a little longer on booting up this time) this allows it to place all the necessary folders on the device
4: Select "Quit" in the main menu and select "Shut Down"
5: Remove the storage device (USB stick) from the Raspberry Pi and insert it into your PC (I'm using a windows PC).
When you boot up Windows, DO NOT format your thumb drive. You will end up deleting Batocera. Best thing to do is to NOT plug your thumb drive (where you have Batocera) into any Windows PC because it might mess things up. Batocera is running in Linux and you don't want Windows to mess anything up.

Would try a few 2D games maybe first, if they run well maybe try some 3D games.
Is there a way to simply upgrade from batocera 30, did I miss it in the video?
Yes. There is a part where I show you within the Batocera menu. Look around the 50 seconds mark in the video.
I just love these things :( I'm already stuck on step one, No image to select
I would skip this and follow the installation guide for Batocera 33. Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/OCjuabVCNho/v-deo.html
I'm stuck on the step after I flashed the thumb drive, and the boot process, I got all the roms I'm just stuck now tho
Thanks again for this tutorial. Do you think we should simply upgrade from batocera 30 ? Or make a fresh and clean install of batocera 31 and copy the roms, bios and save folder ?
It is easier to upgrade from inside Batocera. It is only necessary to do a fresh install if the upgrade fails.
But if you upgrade, make sure you still copy the Bios files again since there is new files.
Do MAME file have to be unzipped for Batocera to see them?
No. Keep the game roms zipped.
Can I still use the windows operating system if I install it on a thumb drive ?
Yes. It won't affect your Windows OS, just as long as you install Batocera on the thumb drive.
A big relief for sure and big thanks for that info BN 👍
But I did notice that after the update any previous resolution setting I had set on a per game basis when using the same emulator for all the games of a system I had to redo again as it did not remember my setting.
For eg for psp I set system resolution settiing to 5x but also changed some games to 4x,,3x and to 2x but after the update it all defaulted to the auto res setting, for the whole system setting and per game.
Hi. Great video. Noobie here. I'm using a gaming pc. Is it possible to use blutooth headphones with Batocera?
I have not tried it before, but I believe it should work.
Does Batocera supports 8BitDo arcade stick?
I know it supports many of the 8BitDo gamepads. But I'm not clear whether it supports the Arcade Stick.
NO Sound on Batocera. How to fix?
Press start for settings, scroll down to System Settings, then down to sound output, and select your option.
If unsure which one then try each but you need to reboot each time for it to take effect.
Also, upgrade it to Batocera 32 since Batocera 32 fixes a lot of sound problems or even Batocera 33 Beta.
Yeah, listen to the man, he knows what he's talking about 😊
I'm confused why do we have to have external hard drive ?
You don't need to. If you can fit all your games on your main Batocera system, then you're good to go. But if you have tons of games, then you might need an external drive to fit your games.
it can run right on pc without usb right?
Try downloading the latest beta version and let me know if it worked. mirrors.o2switch.fr/batocera/x86_64/beta/last/
@@BatoceraNation Unfortunately I keep getting the same result.
Go into System Settings.
Hi, I have batocera installed on 29 version but i want to upgrade this to 31 version but when i try to do it show me back a messages such as: does not have enough space on \boot... do you have any tutorial to change this space?... thank you.
No, I don't, but I had the same problem with one of my test units. Let me get back to you on that.
@@BatoceraNation thank you so much.
Im not sure but I thought I read somewhere you cant update to v30,,you need a fresh install
If so Id guess and say you cant update from v29 or older to v31 either.
When I boot up Batocera it says my monitor is out of range?
What are the specs for your Batocera system? What kind of monitor are you running?
@@BatoceraNation Also thank you for the Reply!
Ok I fixed it once I had it recognize my Nvidia card
The new version is really good. But the "black screen on boot" issue is not solved. It's no issue with the USB derive, on some PC's it's booting correctly, on others it's just black screen. Do you have any information what can be the reason?
Unfortunately, I don't have. You might want to pose that question on the Batocera.org forums. The developers see and answer questions there.
@@BatoceraNation , this issue was mentioned by users on Batocera.org forums, but no useful answer was given. It's strange that Batocera uses some kind of Recalbox in the background and on PC's where Batocera won't boot, Recalbox works without issues.
@@82levy5 Batocera was built on top of Recalbox. One could say it's a fork of Recalbox. However, since I'm not one of the developers of Batocera, they would better know and ultimately fix the issue.
please can you help, I cannot flash Batocera onto any of my devices, I have a 128gb memory pen which I tried to flash 4-5 times and it didnt work, also a smaller memory pen of 12 gb and it didnt work, so I bough a brand new mirco SB 128gb with nothing on it and still the flash failed - what am I doing wrong?
Reformat the Microsd or the 128GB in NTFS format then try again with Balena Etcher.
@@BatoceraNation will try that, thank you

Would I get better performance than I would with windows running emulators on the same hardware?
Sometimes yes mainly in lower systems, seems this is more child friendly than windows
hI You didn't mention that after a few downloads they start to charge you
Who starts to charge you? Archive.org? If so, that's new. Even if you use their torrents?
Archive? Nah. Had a quick test and didnt have any problems.
Gotta be an issue at user end surely.
I can’t seem to get NES, SNES and PCE ROMs to load. Anyone able to help please? 🤷🏻♂️
Is your rom extension is the same as described in the info.txt for each rom set (Nes, PCE, SNES)?
@@BatoceraNation I was able to figure it out, thanks! There was an issue with my thumb drive so I bought a new one and started over. Everything is running great now.
I did all the steps but can’t get games to play please help
Which games? Have you copied the Bios files? Have you copied the roms/games into the roms folder? Have you updated the game lists?

Can you emulate ps3 on amlogic box? Thanks
No. Not powerful enough. You need a strong PC to emulate PS3.
@@BatoceraNation thanks
@@BatoceraNation do you know the main requirements on a mini pc? Thanks
Wait until a mini PC with AMD 680M come out later this year. It will be perfect for it. They starting to manufacture them. Should be around in time for Christmas.
Can we run batocera via microsd card?
Yes. It will be slower and you should only do low end emulation.
My batocera works without having to get the bios pack...am I missing something? DC and PS1 work fine without this
The Bios pack is for other systems. If you mostly want PSX and Dreamcast then you're good to go.
@@BatoceraNation I noticed some DC and PSX games dont work...Is it likely missing bios or bad rom?
@@GeorgeWPush Best bet is to copy the Bios files. If it doesn't work, then you have some bad roms.

I think I might know your problem. After you create your Batocera drive, you are able to boot into Batocera, right? Then when you copy your games into the roms folder, it messes up, right? How are you copying your games into the roms folder? In Windows or within Batocera with the built-in file manager when you press F1? Be specific. Thanks.
@@BatoceraNation by pressing F1 and using the built in file manager
@@timford8436 That's a first for me and it's so weird. It's not what I was thinking. Does it happen with the same game all the time? If so, try not to copy that game and see what happens. the best installation process explanation ever, thanks man. is there a way to update batocera 29 or 30, to 31 without losing all the roms and configurations?
Yes. In the Main Menu, go to Updates & Downloads. From there select Check for Updates, then Start Update.
bisa buat main game psp ga bang ama ps1?
Anda dapat memainkan kecuanya di Batocera.
Ive been checking the official site 'almost' every day for the next version but the first I seen of v31 release is this vid lol
But unfortunately it looks like v31 isnt available for all platforms yet. At least not at the time of typing in this message.
I tried the download link for odroid go super for eg as well as a few others and its v30 still.
However I havent tried to update from within my RGB10Max itself yet.
Im just talking about the image download from the site.
But Ill check to see if it updates to v31 in the morning (my time 😁)
As well as update my PC version. 👍
Also, I shouldnt need to update my bios files surely, I mean the only reason to do that is for any new systems thats been added that may need bios files AND if you intend to play those new systems right.
You're correct, you don't need to update the Bios files if you don't plan to play on those new systems. The old bios should work, especially for the older systems.
Yeah, its not like the bios files gets updated to newer versions lol.
Also, nah.. No update on the RGB10Max, I tried update option on it. None as yet.
@@BatoceraNation
Did they? Man, how would one know that?
Why not just keep it as it was, at least was easy to see.
Well, did you check it? Ive already rolled back, dont fancy updating and rolling back again if I dont have too lol
Can you confirm that it comes up for you with long press?
If so then yeah, Ill update… again lol
Apart from that still to bad FDS is a sub folder of NES.
Dont know why.
Its not like megacd or 32x is a sub folder of megadrive.
Xbox would be good to test, was about to as well but was to upset earlier lol
22:34 hello in the video you have batocera v30 ... greetings
Yes. I borrowed footage from my previous installation. I didn't want to have to do the whole thing again. I was eager to get to Xbox emulation. 😊
Do i need format the hard drive first, or does Batocera do that when installing to hard drive
If you are creating a new Batocera system from within Batocera, it does it automatically. If you are doing it with Balena Etcher, I tend to format the hard drive. I've had some problems before when I didn't format the hard drive.
Anyone else having trouble connecting an 8bitdo SN30pro?
No. I just tried it and it's working just fine.
@@BatoceraNation No idea why it won't connect on mine. Ohh well, PS4 controller it is. Thanks for your videos!
If it is the latest Beta version, it might be iffy. I have the second to latest version.
